This is one of those rare cases where if you look up discussions online, overwhelmingly people are in support of shooter. Long story short on Feb 14, 1984, 11 year old Jody Plauché was abducted by his karate instructor, 25 year old pedophile Jeff Doucet. After two weeks of abuse, Jody was finally rescued by police. On Mar 16, Jody’s father Gary ambushed Doucet in a Baton Rouge airport, shooting him in the head on live television. His punishment was community service, no prison time.

From a parents perspective you can maybe sympathize with the parent but we know, murder is wrong. What would you say. Just let the justicve system handle it or were you okay with it?

In the US in 2026, the "Justice" system is a joke. It does not exist. Before punishing Jody's Father, punish those who have allowed this system to exist. Jeff Doucet was a known child molester of other young boys. He confessed he could not remember how many children he had molested. He was charged with child molestation on at least one other occasion however the charges and dispositions were erased from his record.

The Bible warns us that without justice, the very ground itself will cry out.

Seems to me that justice was served.

What brings this up?

No one is unredeemable, that is why I oppose capital punishment. In the above case, I believe it was wrong to shoot him despite his horrible crimes. There was always the possibility he would in future come to Christ.

From a human point of view I can totally sympathise with the father . I would have wanted to do exactly the same thing as he did but , I would have tried very hard not to give in to those feelings , wether or not I would have succeeded ? I don't know for sure .
