In God's eyes they did stop being Jews.
But racially, still Jews.
How they are to worship? No longer Jews.

We must learn the Word accurately to catch up with what already God knows.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female,
for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I was brought up a Jew.

........
We are all one in Christ..

We all become part of the family of God through Christ.

As Children of God we should obey the law of God.

Joh 15:9-10
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Because the Gentiles were never told that they are under the law in the New testament.

You keep quoting Exodus 20 and you have been taught that the Gentile nations, were under that law.

This is contrary to the covenant law that YHWH established with Israel at Mt Sinai.

You know what the scripture states.

Romans 9:4-5
Who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving
of the Law
and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according
to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever.

Don't tell me that the Gentile nations were under the covenant law of Mt Sinai.

You have been refuted by Romans 9:4-5
Read the context.

Rom 9:24-26
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

Rom 9:29-33
29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. 30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

We are not saved by keeping the Law...that is salvation by works.
We are saved by faith.

But do we make void the law? God forbid.

The law remains in effect for who?

Israel that received the written law at Mt Sinai and agreed to the covenant law.

I know that Egypt was never given that covenant law.

Which country is bound by the law?
Right. All who were at Sinai and their descendants.

Not an assumption.... why would Jesus say it if it is an assumption?

Did Jesus encourage them to follow tradition rather then the truth.

I see all these assumptions on your side..

I have evidence.
Try to keep up.

Here were some of the commandments God gave to Abraham:

Genesis 12 “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you."
So...
"Go from your country..."
"(Go from) your people..."
"(Go from) your father’s household..."
"(Go to) the land I will show you."

That's 4 commandments. None of which are of the 10 given at Sinai. Does such a pattern continue in the New Testament? Sure.

At Jesus's first recorded miracle, Mary says this to the servants at the wedding feast:

"His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.(I wrote more about this a while ago here: LINK )

Let me pause here with a question: is Jesus about to issue a commandment? Yes, of course. The Lord of Lords, the Creator of all things, is about to give instruction to the servants. How well would it have gone for the servants if they just ignored the Lord? That's rhetorical because we just don't know. What we DO know if that from their obedience to His commandments a miracle occurred - the economy of heaven came into the earth.

Here were His commandments to the servants:

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.

1. "Fill the waterpots with water."
2. "Draw some out."
3. "Take what is drawn to the master of the feast."

None of these are found in the Torah. Mary actually pinpoints the change of standard from following the law at Sinai to the new standard "Do what the Lord tells you to do."

Lastly, here are some commandments God gave to Saul (Paul):
Acts 9: “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
So...
"Arise..."
"Go into the city..."
"Await further instructions (paraphrased)"

3 more commandments from God, none of which are of the 10 given at Sinai.

The way of the Spirit is not following a law that blinds men to the revealed truth. It is following the leading of the Spirit in our everyday lives.

I am a dependent of Jesus and Jesus is a dependent of Israel
Neither Abraham nor Isaac, nor Jacob, nor Melchizedek, etc. were under the law given at Sinai.

1And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them. 2The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive.

The laws do not controdict themselves.

Different covenants were given but God did not controdict or have different standards.

The people failed the covenant at Sinai. Not God.

The way they failed was because they tried to do things themselves they did not have faith in God.

The law of God has not changed.

God has written it in our hearts and we need to obey through faith. Because we love God and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 6:11-14
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

I am not under the law because Jesus paid the death penalty for me. I am free from the law because the price has been paid in full by Jesus. By faith in Jesus I am fully forgiven and the law can not condemn me.

If I am guilty of a crime and the law convicts me of 1 million in fines. Then Jesus stands up and pays the fine, do I need to pay it again. ... no. I'm free.

Rom 6:15-18
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

The way they failed was because they tried to do things themselves they did not have faith in God.
No, that’s why the law was added. Your doctrine is a mess.

“What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions…”

But it has a condition of establishment:

“…till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made.”

By following Sinai, you’re claiming the Seed, who is Christ, never came.

So tell me, if Sinai is your bag, which group (underlined below) are you a part of?

8But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

You can pick more than one.

God is not a God that controdicts Himself and is not a God with different standards of righteousness.
He certainly does not contradict Himself but He most certainly changes the standard of righteousness. That’s why the priesthood changed from Levitical to Melchizedek (or rather restored to Melchizedek).

A change of priesthood necessitates a change of administration.

Levitical presented the people before God. Man’s best is the standard.
The line of Melchizedek presents God to the people. In this administration the risen Christ is the standard.

In answer to the quotation above Romans 3:31

But do we make void the law? God forbid.

Romans 3 contextually levels the spiritual playing field. After Paul concludes that both law-breaking Gentiles and hypocritical Jews are equally condemned (Romans 2), chapter 3 establishes that all humanity is universally sinful. He then transitions to the core Gospel: salvation and justification are free gifts from God, received entirely through faith in Jesus Christ. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The Context of Romans 3
The chapter unfolds in three main movements:
  • The Jewish Advantage & God’s Faithfulness (vv. 1-8): Paul anticipates a Jewish objection: If everyone is guilty, what is the point of being Jewish? Paul confirms that Jews have a distinct advantage because they were entrusted with the written Word of God. However, human unfaithfulness cannot nullify God's faithfulness. [1, 2, 3]
  • Universal Condemnation (vv. 9-20): Paul weaves together a series of Old Testament scriptures (like Psalms and Isaiah) to prove that "there is no one righteous, not even one." He concludes that the deeds of the law cannot save anyone. The true purpose of the law is to give people the knowledge of sin—acting like a mirror that shows us we are dirty, but lacking the ability to clean us. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Righteousness Through Faith (vv. 21-30): Paul introduces the Gospel climax: God offers a righteousness apart from the law. People are justified freely by grace through the redemption provided by Jesus' sacrificial death. This means God saves both Jews and Gentiles the exact same way—by grace through faith. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Explanation of Romans 3:31

"Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law." (ESV) [1]
In this closing verse, Paul refutes an accusation often leveled against his teachings: If you say we are saved by faith rather than keeping the rules of the Old Testament, you are rendering the law completely useless. Paul strongly disagrees. [1, 2]
Faith in Jesus "upholds" or "establishes" the law in three primary ways: [1, 2, 3]
  1. It fulfills the Law's True Purpose: The ultimate goal of the Old Testament law was to point out human sin, reveal the need for a Savior, and forecast the Messiah. When a person places their faith in Jesus, they are fulfilling the exact trajectory the law was designed to achieve—it brings them to Christ. [1, 2, 3]
  2. It honors the Law's Demands: The law demands perfect righteousness and brings judgment for failure. By putting the Law on a pedestal, we admit that it is perfectly holy and impossible for us to keep through our own works. Faith in Christ upholds the law by recognizing that Jesus met its perfect standard and paid its penalty on our behalf. [1, 2, 3, 5]
  3. It empowers Spirit-Led Obedience: In later chapters (especially Romans 8), Paul notes that the "righteous requirement of the law" is ultimately fulfilled in believers not by adherence to an external legal code, but by living according to the Holy Spirit and through love.
You follow the traditional reading of Romans and that comes with a heavy price.

You preach Jesus plus the law for salvation!

You directly accuse anyone that does not obey the law that they will die.

Not, the commandments given by Moses.

The law was added because of sin or transgression.

No law = no transgression.

The law that was added was the law that dealt with sin. No the law that defines sin...

Sin was already defined.

And because they were sinning or transgressing the law God introduced the cerimonial laws and sanctuary services..

These cerimonial laws pointed to the ministry of Jesus and how Jesus would pay for our sins... shadow, types, schoolmaster... etc.

They would be removed when Jesus came. They were nailed to the cross.

Which law was added? .. it was already a sin to kill and steal, before Abraham and Noah.

Sin is the transgression of the law.

I follow Paul's counsel.

By faith in Jesus I am free from the condemnation of transgression.
My sins are forgiven because I have faith in Jesus.

But I do not let the grace of Jesus become an excuse to sin.

I do not keep the law to gain salvation, I keep it because I love Jesus and want to follow His example.

By faith in the Holy Spirit, He can empower me to obey.

Faith in Jesus is the power that we need to obey.

TMS.

A simple question.

Did God make a covenant at Mt Sinai with Israel and did Israel agreed to OBEY the law?
Yes they agreed.

But there was 2 ways to obey.

One ... by trusting in the power of God to create a clean heart in them. Faith in God's power to transform them.

Two... by trying to achieve the standards by their own powers.

The old covenant is compared to Agar the mother of bondage. Gal 4.

All the animal sacrifices and efforts on man's part did nothing to save them from sin. The promise of Jesus is were the power of salvation is found.

Trusting in Jesus to write the law in our hearts and minds is what we need to do.

The law was added because of sin or transgression.

Sin is the transgression of the law.
You forgot the most important part: "..till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made."
Why is this so? Why is the law no longer needed for the righteous?

Because, to be considered "righteous" one must be included in the Body of Christ. Once a person is in the Body, the Holy Spirit informs the person of what to do. Examples of this are found all throughout the New Testament.

For example, when Paul and Silas wanted to go to Asia and Bithynia, the Spirit had other plans...

"Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. 7After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them."
See? There was no Sinai Law against going to Asia and to Bithynia. The Spirit, Himself, prevented Paul and Silas from going.

Now, what if Paul and Silas said "Even though the Spirit forbids us to go, we will go any way!"
According to Sinai, they would not be in sin. But, according to the Spirit of God, they would be guilty of not following the Spirit. A higher standard.

This is the 'Normal Christian Life": being led by the Spirit of God.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

Sinai did not produce sons of God. It produced slaves.

"But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

The Law of God written on our hearts is not the Law given at Sinai: it is His very nature. Just like the way a father passes his nature to his children, God, the Father, passes His nature to His children by the His Spirit.

Yes they agreed.

But there was 2 ways to obey.

One ... by trusting in the power of God to create a clean heart in them. Faith in God's power to transform them.

Two... by trying to achieve the standards by their own powers.

No, you don't understand. They were to come into the presence of God at Sinai. Instead, they sent Moses as their representative to "hear for them and report back".

THIS was why the Law at Sinai was given. This is why it was added. God's plan to make them into a "holy nation and a kingdom of priests" did not originally include the Law at Sinai. They were to come into His presence and be changed therein. The temple bread reminded them of this reality:

"And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times."
So, even in the limited revelation of the Law of Sinai, the people were reminded that His presence was paramount to their lives. Coincidentally, this was the bread David ate when on the run from Saul:

Now David came to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest. And Ahimelech was afraid when he met David, and said to him, “Why are you alone, and no one is with you?”
So David said to Ahimelech the priest, “The king has ordered me on some business, and said to me, ‘Do not let anyone know anything about the business on which I send you, or what I have commanded you.’ And I have directed my young men to such and such a place. Now therefore, what have you on hand? Give me five loaves of bread in my hand, or whatever can be found.”
And the priest answered David and said, “There is no common bread on hand; but there is holy bread, if the young men have at least kept themselves from women.”

This is the bread of His presence. And it was only reserved for priests!
Yet, it was given to David!

There is so much here but let me finish with this;

Jesus is the bread of His presence!

"I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
By our placement in Him - by the Holy Spirit - we fulfill God's original intent at Sinai: to bring the people into His presence.

"And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

It's "in Him" that we are refined. And for our refinement, it is necessary that we are led by the Spirit of God in our daily lives. By this, we set down our own ideas (like Paul and Silas in the example above) and, instead, do what the Spirit tells us to do. This is the life of "sabbath" that Jesus secured for us: "Only doing what we see our Father do."

The law was added because of sin or transgression.

No law = no transgression.

No Law???
No knowledge and understanding of what a transgression is.

No one could know they were transgressing.
That is why it says - no transgression.

........

This is the 'Normal Christian Life": being led by the Spirit of God.
I agree.
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Gal 5:16-17
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

We need the Holy Spirit to do anything good. We are lost without the Spirit of God leading and empowering us.

It did not change at the cross. Moses was only able to do good by the indwelling of the Spirit, Daniel was only able to obey because of The Holy Spirit.

Today we can only obey because of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

But we will soon see.... does God want us to obey all 10 of the commandments or only 9 or 8 of them. ?

Do you think God will be upset if I obey 10 by the power of the Holy Spirit?

If you are wrong and the following verses are the about the 10 commandments what then....????

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

When the final Judgment comes
Will your excuses hold?

Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Don't say but I'm safe or saved in Christ's righteousness
This is true but will He justify those that work iniquity?

Mat 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The will of the Father in heaven... ?

If you are wrong and all 10 are God's will, then you are working iniquity..

"I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Jesus will not justify those that work iniquity (lawlessness).
