A Berean, does this mean a DIY student of Scripture?

But he said they knew what He was accomplishing like miracles and His teaching. He never said they knew He was God.
You are correct....

There was a huge issue with what Jesus and Nicodemus were discussing....
Granted the discussion moved very quickly and Nicodemus was quicker to dismiss his own importance....

But those lines Jesus said. It made everything relevant.
"You are Israel's teacher...."
And then there was the dissertation about the light and truth....which Paul repeated and made a portion of Romans 1 concerning homosexuality.

Meaning God does have a use and specific purpose for EVERY Believer long before they were born.

Because the notes in your bibles is correct...."Born from Above" was a caste in their Caste based society. Nicodemus didn't believe in himself....He totally believed in Jesus.

You still having issues thinking things through before posting?

It's not modern Judaism im discussing.....it's ancient Israel. Huge difference.

Yet you directed me to something that is a feature of modern Judaism, not something that existed in Jesus' day

Oh but it DID....

Where do you think the concepts came from?

Because Synagogues are built today the Jews didn't have them 2,000 years ago?
Your lack of logic is ridiculous.

Like I said before,
YOU need to think things through 2 X more carefully BEFORE you post so you will stop looking so foolish.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Judaism today is radically different than what it was 2000 years ago.

Right....
2,000 years ago they had a Temple to sacrifice at.
Today the Jews roast a beet instead of a lamb at a Passover Week Seder. Maybe eat a rubber chicken breast at a group meal. The kugel is good though.

It's an unpleasant ordeal done entirely in Hebrew....
However,
They do have Seders today that are for the Christian Goyim....
You can take part in one but they will charge you.....

There's some good ones usually at Bible Museums. They have a whole bunch of artifact copies....and what the ancient world knew was insane by comparison.

I know precisely what I'm talking about....
I may not be a practicing Jew but I am Jewish. I have Rabbi friends. I know precisely all about modern Judaism vx ancient Judaism.
Stop embarrassing yourself. Think carefully, research more in depth....

No I don't think you really do. I asked for your source for your claims about ancient Judaism and you deflected by pointing me to something that was irrelevant. I think you have a lot of opinions based on Jewish tradition, rather than on actual fact.

Scholars estimate that only 3% to 10% of the male population in Roman Palestine could read and write fluently. For women, the rate was significantly lower.
"Scholars" like whom? The anti-Christian Bart Ehrman? I will stick with scripture.

Jhn 19:19
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Jhn 19:20
This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

You of course are entitled to an opinion no matter how wrong you are....

Do some more research...

I don't have to give these resources because it's commonly known basic information....
Kinda like which hand you hold over your heart while giving the pledge of allegiance. Really commonly known. Why you won't just do a minimum bare search on this topic demonstrates pharisee type attitudes...."if I don't look I won't know. Then I won't have to change"

That's what it really boils down to.

Well..
Do a Google search.
A duck search...
a lexus/nexus search
an AI search
Any basic search will tell you more than what i have.

But you refuse....WHY?

Because I know you don't know what you're talking about. You would give me the info I ask if you really knew. Simple.

I can't do it for you.

And if I did....you would discount the sources.

You finding answers for yourself to see if what is being said is true is the very epitome of being " Berean" today.

But you have shown your colors.
I've done literally everything but typing it in for you. And you refuse to.look.

What do you call that?
Certainly not Berean.
