The Holy Spirit is not limited, but only Jesus had the Spirit without measure. John 3:34. As Christians, we have all been baptized by one Spirit into one body, 1 Corinthians 12:13, and we should all care for one another as members of the same body. Basically, the opposite of what you've been experiencing on this thread. The Holy Spirit ought to have many functions in our lives, like leading us into all truth, teaching us all things, showing us things to come, and taking from the Father and Jesus in order to reveal things unto us. I could give you verses to back all of that up, but you might know them already. So, no, I don't believe that we should hinder the Spirit, but rather yield ourselves fully to him. After all, scripture does teach that those who are led by the Spirit of God are truly his children. Romans 8:14.
