However, the truth is that it is not a plain statement but a parable. The Lord God intentionally made it a dark saying to test people whether they would humbly ask God for understanding, or whether they would refuse to ask because they assume they already understand it.

1 John ch 4 . How to test the spirits . It’s not hard but you must be grounded in truth . Some simple truth . God is spirit .
Jesus is a man . The Christ is a man . Do some research if not certain . It’s a test of the spirit of truth . Those in error always fail the test . But testing requires some knowledge of truth .
