do you ever feel like giving up?

I give up because men say one thing and mean another. I'm a very quiet lady who is extremely opposed to making the first move or pursuing a guy. BUT...so many have said in these forums that they wish women would be more bold, give them encouragement, speak up...blah, blah, blah. :rolleyes: Baloney :p

Example #1: Guy #1 openly flirts with woman, almost to the point of stalking. Woman sees guy, strikes up a conversation because he doesn’t. Conversation goes very well. Next time woman sees guy, guy doesn’t say a word. Women gives up thinking guy has changed his mind. Guy gets ticked off because woman moved on.:rolleyes:

Example #2: Guy #2 comes right out and says he likes woman and appreciates her attention, so she gives guy more attention. Woman sees indications that guy may actually be interested in someone else, so woman backs off. Guy again becomes overly attentive. Woman thinks she misunderstood. Woman spends more time talking with guy. Guy backs off again. Woman gives up. Guy comes back again. Woman responds. Guy responds as briefly as possible. Woman wants to punch him in the face. :p

When I go home at night my dogs are always glad to see me. They are predictable. They are loyal and they love me unconditionally. And when they run around in a circle, I know they are chasing their tails. With men, who knows what they are chasing when they do that. :) All things considered, I really love my dogs :D

I have to be honest, there have been many times that I have wanted to give up on the church. I have seen so much nonsense go on in churches, regardless of denomination, it's no wonder that most sinners consider all Christians to be hypocrites.

However, God in all of His goodness and grace has never ceased to show Himself present in the worst of times. His faithfulness is my main motivation, I can't wait to see His word fulfilled. Also, as I look back at my past, I can't think of a single thing worth going back. Thank God for a transformed mind. :)

Oh wait, you're talking about giving up on men...

yeah, they're useless! ;)

lol maybe you need to find different guys
 
I really don't try to find guys to be honest. :) I go about my life, my work, and the things that God has called me to do, which leaves little time for such things. God knows what I need in my life and what I don't. He's been faithful in the little things, so He won't let me down in the more important ones when/if the time is right. *shrugs*

But from time to time one or two will cross my path that get my attention, so I wonder whether there's a reason for it. But, as Liamson said, when the signals get so messed up, I just let it go. Relationships that are meant to be should not be that complicated and frustrating. I'm simply not one for games, you know? If you want to be with someone, BE with them. If not, leave them alone and don't mess with their heads. It's unkind.

Yeah, sometimes I give Up too!! :)

but I always ask GOD to be with me in-spite of everything.
Honestly its really hard to wait. But I realize that God's way is Better than my foolish way :D.
I always ask GOD to hold me till the end and never let me go cause I'm Just a little bit stubborn and disobedient sometimes :D.
God is good always :)

I agree. If they can't decide if they want you or not then there's something they need to work out that's going on behind the scenes.
 
yes i feel like giving up especially now. It feels like he has turned his back and abandoned me. Just how long are we suppose to wiat for him to answer us? We can only go for so long without some sign that he is at least listening.

I think he favors some ppl more than other. We are not all equal to him.

I agree with you on your two posts on this page. I have always been a firm believer in the "old fashioned" values of relationships and believe that chivalry isn't ... or shouldn't ... be dead. I am not a bold person to begin with so the whole "be more bold and make the first move" thing just isn't my style. I want a guy to let me know if he has something to say to me. I also agree that between my schooling, my family, writing my book, and whatever else God has called me to do, there isn't much time for interest in "guy-searching." Occasionally I look around me to see who is nearby, but most of the people in my town are taken, rude, inconsiderate, or the really sweet guy are not Christians - go figure! lol
 
Maybe it is because I am half Vulcan or perhaps a cyborg, but I've given up merely because none of it makes any sense. I hope it will someday, but I'm not holding my breath.
