Exactly, the reason why man needs to be given a new heart Ezk 36 26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

God does this for them Christ Justified by His Blood !

Nowhere does scripture explicitly teach that man is born unable to.... come to/respond positively to... the message of the the Life Giver to receive Life.

I generally bow out of discussions when another poster leaves biblical arguments and comments on my motives and ascribes falsehoods to me. I do this for several reasons. First, once discussions become personal, they are rarely profitable. Further, because Jesus taught that we are judged as we judge, and because I have no desire to see others receive the judgment of their actions, I'm not inclined to foster further poor discernment.
That this didn't occur to you, and that a biblical farewell is viewed by you as a dismissal speaks to your spiritual discernment or lack thereof.

Does this work for you...may God shine His face upon you and grant you every good and perfect gift?
I had spent some time to get verses and write the truth of scripture for you, as Christians we are supposed to help one another to edify one another, I write simply and from clear verses not subject to interpretation, too bad you dismissed my post. you probably did not like what was written and that is O.K. just could have said so and why we could have discussed further. it wont happen again.

Explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ

You keep asking that question when Millions of Christians have known it from the beginning?

You must wonder?
How did the Church grow like it had until Calvin was born?

He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and
your household.”

Acts 16:30-31

You are only proving how dull Calvinists are

It is really quite audacious to assert Calvinism is the Gospel... especially considering the message of Calvinism causes the words of

Christ to be impotent.

According to them, the Bible and the very words of Jesus are useless to a person unless God decides to regenerate that particular person first.

Yes indeed, it an audacious claim to make about God, His message of Good News and His written revelation to mankind.

A Defense of Calvinism as the Gospel

Prof. David J. Engelsma
Calvin read Augustine and liked what he read and Calvin was well versed in philosophy.

Augustine proposed God's election of the saved but not double predestination.

I wish Calvin had identified the context in the letter to the Romans.

So what is Paul talking about in Romans chapters 7 to chapter 11?

What is the subject of Romans 7-11?

Using the immediate context of Romans 7–11, Paul's focus is not primarily on explaining why some individuals are eternally saved and others are eternally lost. Rather, he is explaining God's purpose in Christ concerning Israel, the Gentiles, and the fulfillment of His promises.

Consider the flow of the argument:

Romans 8

Paul speaks of those who are in Christ:

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son..." (Romans 8:29)

"Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified..." (Romans 8:30)

The emphasis is on the certainty of God's purpose for those who belong to Christ.

Romans 9

Paul immediately turns to the question of Israel:

"For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel." (Romans 9:6)

"That the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth." (Romans 9:11)

Paul's concern is why many Israelites have not obtained righteousness while Gentiles are entering into it.

Yet Paul also says:

"What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith." (Romans 9:30)

"But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness." (Romans 9:31)

And he explains why:

"Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law." (Romans 9:32)

The explanation given is faith versus works, not an explicit appeal to an eternal decree of individual salvation.

Romans 10

Paul continues:

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved." (Romans 10:1)

He then repeatedly presents salvation as available through faith:

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

"There is no difference between the Jew and the Greek." (Romans 10:12)

The chapter emphasizes the universal offer of salvation through faith.

Romans 11

Paul asks:

"Hath God cast away his people? God forbid." (Romans 11:1)

He then introduces the remnant:

"Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace." (Romans 11:5)

Yet Israel's hardening is described as partial and temporary:

"Blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." (Romans 11:25)

And concerning the unbelieving branches:

"And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again." (Romans 11:23)

Paul grounds exclusion and inclusion in belief and unbelief:

"Because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith." (Romans 11:20)

From the context alone

Romans 7–11 repeatedly emphasizes:

  • Faith versus works (9:30–32; 10:3–10).
  • Salvation offered to "whosoever" believes (10:11–13).
  • Israel's stumbling through unbelief (9:32; 11:20).
  • The possibility of restoration through faith (11:23).
  • God's faithfulness to His promises concerning Israel (11:1–29).

Therefore, the surrounding context does not explicitly teach the later Calvinistic doctrine that God unconditionally predestines particular individuals to salvation and passes over the rest.

At the same time, Romans 9–11 certainly affirms God's sovereignty:

"Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth." (Romans 9:18)

"O man, who art thou that repliest against God?" (Romans 9:20)

So the context clearly teaches God's sovereign freedom, but it also repeatedly explains human exclusion in terms of unbelief and inclusion in terms of faith.

From Romans 7–11 alone, Paul appears to be defending God's faithfulness to His promises and explaining the place of Israel and the Gentiles in God's redemptive plan, while consistently identifying faith and unbelief as the immediate reasons people stand or fall.

Slimsumo, I agree, salvation is solely, 100% by the grace of God. I believe it was Charles H. Spurgeon who made a statement similar to what I am going to paraphrase: "We tend to be Arminian when first saved, and then after maturing and growing grace, we see the truth of Calvinism, all of God, behind it all."

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Phil 2:12-13, KJV)

"And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul." (Acts 16:14, KJV)
God has no favorites.

True, no need to force down theology to people. Let people digest the scripture themselves, walk with God themselves, and people can lean towards predestination or free choices.

Respect minor differences.

Not really a minor difference when the character of God is changed... I think.

Explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Are you actually doing any thinking? What difference does it make whether I know the Gospel or not. Jesus Christ is the Good News and nothing I say or do will ever change that.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Our understanding, or lack of it will never change who He is.

You are an argumentative sort. If I had said Jesus Christ is not the Good News, you would have argued with that too.

You're Calvinism is nothing more than man's understanding of God, (ie. theology) and trying to replace Christ as the Gospel with Calvinism only shows how depraved your thinking has become.

But then, considering we reflect what we value and focus our hearts and minds on, is it any wonder?

Well you can see here... # 11 977 by Sproul Jr. post on X..... which he took down after receiving much flack how the character of God is changed

Perhaps this is how you view God?
My view of God is from the scripture. His way is Higher, His mind is Higher. When He create heaven and earth, where am I? I will not use my little brain to say God should be this way or that way. I will use my brain to do my best to follow God.

Read the book of job.

You first.

He was predestinated to obey and be healed, the story shows Divine Election and Predestination to obedience. The story of Naaman and the widow were predetermined events that Jesus would use in His Public Ministry to teach sovereign election in the synagogue Lk 4, which story infuriated the jews
So Naaman could not choose to disbelieve. Naaman was forced to be healed. Forced to be saved.

If this is how God works... I'm not going to do anything to witness. I'm not going to pray for help or ask for anything because God will force me to choose what I need if I'm privileged enough to be part of the elect. Sad. if God is like this we serve an awful god.

We must keep in mind that we are being watched by angels.
For we are playing out before their eyes the very same kind of conflicts that they faced
when it was time for the angels to decide whom they would follow, either Lucifer, or the Lord.

They, too, were subject to all kinds of deceptions, lies, and excuses like we see with some here.
So when fallen angels see disingenuous believers attempting to distort what the Scriptures teach us?
And, in their hearts they condemn such believers as being unworthy to call themselves God's children?
In God's wisdom He had Jesus die on the Cross for such actions, so these believers remain saved.

But as far as when the fallen angels condemn such deceptions and inane denials?
They are vindicating God's judgment of themselves for what they refused to repent of.

And, in doing so?

Leaving such fallen angels to be without an appeal to get out of the Lake of Fire.
Leaving them to be without excuse for what is coming to them because they are condemning the very sins they themselves do as their own lifestyle of denial and self-justification.

By God allowing such contrary believers to remain alive on earth?
God is making His enemies into His footstool by having them condemn their own selves by what they condemn in wayward Christians.

That's why we see what they do without God striking them dead.
Allowing them to live another day in spite of their sins and evil thinking against God's Word.

Yes, God has a purpose in what we see that breaks our hearts.

Grace and peace ........
