You keep repeating that claim without offering any scriptural support.

Oh my land, over and over and over I have printed all this out. You dismiss it and ask for proof again.

That's because none exists. So why do you keep doing it? Do you really think unending repetition of dogma is going to convince anyone?

It does exist and I'm not the only one who has proven it time and time again. You ignoring what's in front of your eyes doesn't convince anyone. smh

Does God give us a timeline for the second coming?

I was told that some minister said this: “Every date-setter in history has been wrong. Such predictions bring disrepute to the Gospel and cause unnecessary trauma when the date passes". He told me this because I had shown him the verses in Ezekiel that tell us the timeline for the second coming. His response was that this cannot be true because God doesn’t give timelines. So then, is that true? Does God give timelines or not?

1. John the Baptist was a date setter, he said that Jesus was the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world indicating that he would be crucified on Passover.

2. Jesus was a date setter because He told the disciples that He would be crucified when He got to Jerusalem.

3. Daniel was a date setter because he gave us the year that Jesus would be crucified.

4. Jeremiah was a date setter because he told Israel how many years they would be in Babylon before God gave them permission to return.

5. Abraham was a date setter because he told us that God told him how many years his descendants would be in Egypt before they would be allowed to leave.

This "minister" taught you that, "Every date-setter in history has been wrong. Such predictions bring disrepute to the Gospel and cause unnecessary trauma when the date passes". He is wrong, because I just gave five examples in the Bible where they were not wrong, and five examples in the Bible that did not bring disrepute to the Gospel.

All of it deals with whether or not God gives us timelines in His prophecies which this minister said He doesn't. He then replied "Yes, God gave timelines for how long Israel would be in captivity before their exodus, how long before a man named Moses, a type of the Messiah, would come and deliver them", and yes God gave timelines for how long Israel would be scattered in Babylon before God would bring them back, and yes, God told us how long it would be before Jesus Christ the Messiah would come and be crucified, and yes, both Jesus and John the Baptist told us the day and the manner with which Jesus Christ, the Messiah would be crucified. But God does not give us a timeline for the Day of the Lord, the end of the age, despite the Day of the Lord and the second coming of Jesus being the single biggest prophetic topic in the Bible. 150 chapters in the Bible deal with the end times. The second coming of the Lord is mentioned more than 2,000 times in the Bible (counting both Old Testament and New Testament references). The New Testament mentions the Second Coming of Jesus Christ over 300 times (approximately once every 25 verses), and Jesus gives us specific commands to "watch," "be ready," or "wait" for His return (Matthew 24-25, Mark 13, Luke 12, 21). We are told specifically what the signs will be, what the generation will be, and yet your "minister" tells you not to watch. Don't pay attention to these signs. I got it, you have told me more than enough about "your minister" and how foolish you are to let him dissuade you from heeding the Lord's command to watch. You don't deny that all the references I gave you were timelines given by God in His word, you only deny that Ezekiel and Daniel and the books of Moses gave us a timeline for the second coming and your reasoning was "God doesn't give timelines" hence they can't be timelines. Wake up. The only one you are kidding is yourself.

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

God tells us the end from the beginning because it is proof that He alone is God. So then what does the Bible say on this topic of a timeline for the end of the age?

Matthew 24:36 states, "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."

The Lord did not say no one knows the year or the season, to add that is sloppy exegesis. Nor does He say “no one will ever know”. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Just because the Lord did not tell the apostles prior to the crucifixion does not mean they were not told at a later date. Paul said he was told things he was not permitted to share with us.

Acts 1:7 indicates that it is not for believers to know the times or seasons the Father has fixed by His own authority.”

This word did not say it was not for believers, it said It was not for “you” to know, referring to those who Jesus was speaking to. Yes, it might be possible to interpret this to mean all believers, if that were to align with the rest of the scripture. But no verse is of its own interpretation.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 and similar verses, say that the day of the Lord will arrive suddenly and unexpectedly, much like a thief in the night.”

Yes, the New Testament does say it will be sudden destruction that will catch people by surprise, just as in Noah’s day and just as in the days of Lot. But the believers are not appointed to wrath, that is also in the Bible, and Noah was not caught by surprise, his family was not caught by surprise and Lot and his two daughters were not caught by surprise.

This interpretation of all believers being caught by surprise is ignoring many other relevant verses:

Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Just because the disciples did not know 2,000 years ago doesn't mean Jesus can't tell His disciples a week beforehand what the hour will be.

Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

We don't know when the various prophecies will be fulfilled, but we have been given prophecies that when we see them fulfilled we know that the Lord's return is imminent. Joel gives us a prophecy of a worldwide pandemic and global shutdown that never happened previously in human history, a bug that is stitched together from five bugs like in a bioweapons lab, a bug that goes into the great houses so that even the President of the US will get sick, and Joel tells us this is the event that takes place "next door" to the day of the Lord. This verse obliterates anyone teaching not to watch. It proves this teaching is contrary to the Lord's teaching. Also, every single time the Lord said “no one knows the day or the hour” the conclusion was to “watch therefore”. Jesus gave three analogies: a night watchman doesn’t know the day or hour that a thief will strike, that is why he must watch. A pregnant woman does not know the day and hour a baby will be born, that is why she must watch. A farmer does not know the day and hour to reap the fields, that is why he must watch.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

2,000 years ago the Lord revealed to the apostles the things He was doing then. He revealed the New Testament to them. Likewise prior to His return He will reveal the things He is about to do and that includes His return.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Noah and his family entered the ark seven days before the flood. This is because Methuselah died and there was a prophecy that when he dies the end shall come. No one knew the day or hour that Methuselah was going to die, but when he did die they knew what that meant. You have been deceived by anyone who teaches you to not watch.

But the worst thing about this doctrine is that it is contrary to the most basic principle of prophecy:

Isaiah 46:10 (NIV): I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I ple

The book of Joel gives us the event that takes place "next door" to the tribulation translated as "at hand". Since the tribulation is a seven year period, a week of years, called the 70th week, I would say the event that Joel describes is also a seven year period that takes place right before the 70th week.

Here's a summary of the document:

Commentary on Joel: Signs of the Approaching Day of the Lord

This is a prophetic commentary arguing that the Book of Joel describes events immediately preceding the seven-year tribulation period (the "Day of the Lord"), and that those events are unfolding now.

The author's central thesis is that Joel's prophecy describes a "near kinsman" — a preview or warning period — before the tribulation itself begins. Just as Boaz was the kinsman-redeemer in Ruth, the events we're living through are the kinsman to the coming Day of the Lord: similar in character but far less severe than what's coming.

Key interpretive claims:

  • The four insects in Joel 1:4 represent COVID-19 — described as a bioweapon spliced from four viruses — which devastated the global economy the way locusts strip agricultural land.
  • The worldwide pandemic shutdown (2020), the vaccine mandate (2021), food shortages, church closures, and economic disruption all fulfill Joel's warnings about what is coming in the tribulation, only much more severe.
  • The UN's declaration of a global pandemic on the Feast of Trumpets 2020, and the "Pact for the Future" confirmed on the Feast of Trumpets 2024, are seen as significant prophetic markers.

Practical application the author emphasizes:

  • Christians should "blow the trumpet" — actively warn others that the tribulation is near.
  • The current period is a mercy window for repentance before judgment falls in full force.
  • The outpouring of dreams, visions, and prophetic awareness (Joel 2:28) signals the church age is closing.
  • Human trafficking revelations (Epstein, Diddy) and the Israel-Gaza-Lebanon conflicts are further signs Joel specifically anticipated.

For someone unfamiliar with the framework, the document assumes a pre-tribulation rapture view, a literal seven-year tribulation, and reads contemporary geopolitical events (COVID, Ukraine, Gaza, the UN) as direct fulfillments of ancient prophecy. The tone is urgent — the author believes the tribulation is imminent and is calling readers to receive Christ and warn others immediately.

The outpouring in Joel was already fulfilled on Pentecost, the beginning of the church age. This is very sensationalist from where I am sitting. The covid situation has already passed, people panicked over nothing

I always wondered if propaganda created the panic & did they do that just so folks would take the 💉? Im glad to read the outpouring began already because a few denominations claim only their church has the outpouring Joel talked about which of course is a lie.

Here is the updated version. The start of the church age and the end of the church age are bookends, they mirror each other. So yes, in the book of Acts it says what they are seeing is what Joel said they would see, but that which has been is that which shall be, Just as the disciples saw Jesus leave when He ascended will be the same that they see when He returns. Their were two witnesses, Peter and Paul and there will be two witnesses in the tribulation. There was an outpouring of miracles during the apostolic age and there will an outpouring of miracles during the tribulation. The disciples had all things in common in the book of Acts and they'll have to do that again during the tribulation. Christians were hunted down, arrested and killed during the book of Acts and that will happen during the tribulation. The pattern in Acts is a prophetic vision of what will come.

I see you are tying the day of watcing and the Day of the Lord together.

But to keep it simple -- Exodus 12:42

It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.

So, Passover is the day of watching

Those who arent reading God's Word every single day will have a very hard road to travel. Its the food for our souls how many go days without eating?

No, I am tying Matthew 24:42 to watching. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. and Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

A much more important question is exactly who is qualified to receive the promises of Abraham?

Many run from that question by accusing me of antisemitism for asking it in the first place.

You need not worry about that from me, my friend. The bothersome issue to me is the prolific replacement theology that permeates so much of Christendom here in the West, with most professing Christians not realizing they're conveying that ideology in so much of their doctrinal beliefs.

Regardless of where the land borders are however, any genetic answer seems to involve the racist subjugation of the "unqualified" peoples that already live in that land.

That is indeed an int3eresting conversation worth engaging, but when that conversation is couched within most of the modern eschatological beliefs.

Ironically many of these "inferiors" are at least in part the physical descendants of Shem and Abraham.

More people need to go back and watch an interview with Golda Meier who stated that ALL who lived in the regions around Israel were called Palestinians. The separating of the Jews from that label was perpetrated by mass media once it began its march toward embracing Islam and the descendants of Ishmael as the only true Palestinians. So many people out there have no idea what they're talking about, which drives them into the blind ignorance to history and the Bible.

Since the New Testament there has also been much mixing of blood by the Christians, and the bloodlines of Isaac and Ishmael are also mingled.
Some attempt to answer the question by declaring certain sects of Judaism as having authority to define the qualified.
The problem here is that we have moved from Genetics to religion, and religions have converts.

Recall that Paul stated that some who were genetic Jews were not Jews in the sense of children of Abraham. That context clearly shows to us that being Jewish was a heart issue in following Christ moreso than genetics. Esther 8:17 proves beyond a doubt that Gentiles could and did become Jews. Until the fall of Israel after the ascension of Christ Jesus, Jews still had to become Jews for salvation, but that changed with the fall of Israel, with salvation having come unto the Gentiles who, before, were without God, without Christ, outside the commonwealth of Israel and therefore without hope. Most religious Gentiles who attend "churches" today are totally ignorant of this fact, being blind followers of their false teaching pastors.

I am a New Testament believing Christian, so I would be inclined to respect the answers provided in the NT.

Yes, and we should also embrace the OT. Did you know that the Mosaic Law defines the good works that we may do in life? Yes, that too remains an unknown fact to most Gentile "Christians" today, especially those who follow after the works-based salvation theology that, again, permeates so much of Westernized Christianity.

I already have a clear position on what those answers are BTW,
Though I sense that many here feel religiously obligated to defend a position that makes no sense even to themselves.
I just want to hear it from you.

For lack of a better word for labels, I classify myself as a biblicist, not a Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic or any other religious label. It's either scripture or its rubbish if not backed by, and can be successfully acid tested, by scriptural continuity.

Blessings

MM

So what you are basically saying is that any Jewish person who refuses to go to Israel can prevent the accomplishment of the word of God?

Not at all. God will, worst case scenario, succeed in drawing the majority of them back to Israel. Those who don't go, that will not at all stifle His plans.

I saw this attitude when I was preaching the gospel. People think it is our job to convert them so as long as they say no, we have to keep trying to convert them.

I'm one of many, and we don't need converting. What needs to happen is to shatter the multitudes of false doctrines harbored within the waters of Westernized Christianity.

So no, this is an incredibly arrogant attitude you have that because some people of Jewish descent did not return to Israel it invalidates it, on the contrary they have only invalidated their own standing with God while those who did return elevated their standing with God. "Many are called, but few are chosen"

I can say that you're not fully understanding my stance, but since you've already judged me, what's the use, right?

Have a nice life.

Price is lower now.

Yes, according to the prophecy in Ezekiel the Jews are in two sticks, Judah and Joseph and God will put the two together. Right now the second stick for the Jews is in the US. When the US is judged as the Great Babylon the Jews in the US will flee to Israel.

Yes it did, but the promised land is still theirs.

This refers to Deuteronomy 28.

Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Yes the land is theirs on CONDITION that they "hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God".
If they will not hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God,

V.63 "ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it."

Referring to question: "Who exactly is qualified to receive the promises of Abraham?"

I would need a much more definitive answer to that question.
If your family was forced to leave your home as mine was on account of being not Jewish enough,
you would too.
Islam was by no means the only religion in Palestine at that time either.
I have no doubt that national Israel supporters advocate for much evil.

I would not bother if people want to associate me with "replacement theology" or not.
I do not think the church replaced Israel, I think that Jesus IS it.

As I indicated I think the New Testament answers my question.
A direct answer:
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is explained many times over in the NT.
Trying to understand the OT independently from the NT is a big mistake.
It has been well tried, and well failed.

As a Jew, I don't have to worry about that because we of the body of Christ will no longer be on this earth.

There's more fodder for you to judge me on.

This is explained many times over in the NT.
Trying to understand the OT independently from the NT is a big mistake.
It has been well tried, and well failed.

Let's allow scripture to answer that:

Rom 9:3-4
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Replacement theology says that this doesn't mean what it says, in that Gentiles too are partakers of the promises made to Abraham alone concerning the land and the Kingdom promised to only those to whom the Law was given. Gentiles were grafted into the Vine, which is Christ, not into the natural branches. God is not yet through with us of Israel.

I, on the other hand, will not be a partaker of the Kingdom because of my membership in the body of Christ Jesus. I, with all my fellow Jews who are followers of Christ, will be caught up before the Day of the Lord.

Romans 15:8
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

The distinction made repeatedly throughout Paul's epistles between the circumcision and the uncircumcision, that shatters the illusions of the Gentiles who fancy replacement theology and warped beliefs about eschatology.

I hope you, unlike so many out there, are the exception rather than riding the traditional bandwagon of Westernized religion.

MM

The term 'Replacement Theology' is just a strawman used by Dispensationalists as a scare tactic. No one is saying the Church 'replaced' the nation of Israel. What the NT teaches is that the Church is a fulfillment of the nation Israel as the people of God. Those of faith are the seed of Abraham, the Israel of God. Gal 6:16.
All the promises in the OT are fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ who is the True Israel.
At the present moment in time, there is only ONE people of God-the Church, comprising of both Jew and Gentile. Eph 3.

Israel as a nation has been rejected because of its unbelief and rejection of Jesus as their Messiah. As a branch, it has been cut off from the covenantal blessings of God. Rm 11. Sometime in the future, 'all Israel will be saved', and that will place them in the Church, the Body of Christ not separated from it.

More sloppy exegesis on your part. You're attempting to use these two verses to create the false impression that all of the promises were made to Israel.

However, Galatians 3:16 makes clear that the promises made to Abraham were also made to Christ (one), but not to Israel (many). But you didn't bold "to thy seed, which is Christ", either because of ignorance, or because of dishonesty.
