Wrong again.rom 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
((walking refers to the performance of deeds))
Do you know roughly when this might happen from the time a person is baptised exactly? Because I think we're literally in the days of Noah so I kinda need Him to speed things up a bit. Now, if you keep all three statements in mind, the only certainty is that at some point in time, you will become cleansed and acceptable to God, whether you can see that time in your present moment of not.
My apologies for misunderstanding. I am glad that mind-set has changed for youI'm not talking about now. I was talking in the past tense and hypothetically.
I wouldn't destroy myself now regardless of anything because I know my worth now.
No, it's not too much to ask. I've had a few experiences myself over the last 55 years or so. Even before I was saved, God answered my prayer. It did me no good. I told myself it was coincidence. I believed that God was real, but I imagined Him to be out to make men suffer.
It was another 8 years or so before I accepted Christ. I wrestled with God for years. He called me Jacob one time. I was stupid, relying on logic and reason and looking at self and circumstances. Now I rely entirely on the Word of God. God says that He loves me. That's enough for me now.
My experiences were real enough. But that did not help me when life went pear shaped.
My advice is to study God's word to discover what is yours already in Christ. My best "feelings", if that is the way to describe experiences, have been when I was thanking and praising God for the good things that He has done. There was one time when it was as if nothing around me existed. Just me and Jesus. A few weeks later I was complaining because the military had sent me somewhere I did not want to go.
So by all means ask God to reveal Himself to you. Moses pleaded with God to show Moses God's ways. And God answered that cry. Make sure that you have confessed any sin. You also need to examine your heart to see if there is any unforgiveness there.
That's ok, thanks for the encouragement. Much appreciated. My apologies for misunderstanding. I am glad that mind-set has changed for you![]()
The body of believers are the body of Jesus. In loving relationships and interactions with God’s family we are experiencing Jesus. If you do not have anyone in your church who is anything like Jesus, look in a different church until you do. In Holy Spirit led relationships deep calls to deep, and we experience the love of God in a tangible way. But we need to regard other Christians spiritually, not according to their flesh. We need to look for Jesus in them and help them express Him. That is where you will find that tangible experience of God’s love that you are seeking. The reason I need to feel something is because i was forced to leave my old life with God's help, and during the process I lost my earthly elderly father who sadly passed away because I wasn't able to be there to look after him. So I suppose what I want partially is for God to fill that void because He's a personal God so I want to have a personal relationship with Him rather than just being sent letters and messages through His writings.
Many adopted children want to meet their parents so it's no difference me wanting to meet my heavenly Father or any of His Triune characters. I don't think that's to much to ask for really considering I haven't ever had an actual spiritual experience with Him at all before or after being baptised and yet I still believe in him 100%.
Also, I was attacked by demons a few years ago and was put in hospital as a result. Obviously that was different but even then I went to a church a week later for relief because the constant attacks, hallucinations and demonic activity nearly drove me insane, but Id previously studied demonology so I recognised what was actually happening rather than assuming it was late stage schizophrenia (because i was around 43 then).
My point is, demons manifested themselves to me visually, and spoke to me and even physically attacked me so I know that God can appear to me if He wants to like He did for Paul on the road to Damascus, or even to people who have had NDE's (near death experiences). And Im not even saying that I expect him to necessarily appear to me. I just want to have a spiritual experience that I know is from Him.
He already convinced me to turn my life around and follow him so I just want him to interact with me so I don't feel like I'm dealing with this on my own, because once you know He's real and want to live according to His teachings it's hard to communicate with most worldly people that don't know the truth about our reality so life can become a very lonely place, because most people think your nuts if you believe in God let alone Christ.
I wouldn't expect God to appear to me over and over, again, it's not like that. Just one true encounter with Him would be satisfy my craving. But even if He doesn't I will still believe in Him and have faith, because of the evidence of His life and what He has done in mine also. Do you honestly think that this is too much to ask for?
My suspicion is that while we are in the flesh we remain linked to sin, not by God's choice but due to our unwillingness to let it go. We use our fleshly nature as a kind of big security blanket we are afraid and so cling to what we know. When we lose our fleshly selves, it becomes much easier to let go of our sinful nature and God will then be able to fully take it away.Do you know roughly when this might happen from the time a person is baptised exactly? Because I think we're literally in the days of Noah so I kinda need Him to speed things up a bit.
rom 8:1So you must be in opposition to what Paul wrote below.
Romans 10:9-13
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction
between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for
“Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Some how you have inserted your own works (obedience) into that free gift of salvation.
Which means if you persist at some unknown level of obedience you will be saved?
Your salvation equation is shown below.
Jesus plus my obedience = salvation?
Not sure how you were taught a corrupted version of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
You may be a Catholic that is whipping yourself with a branch to stop yourself sinning.
If you doing that keep going because you may, in fact, end up becoming perfect!
Matthew 5:48
Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
See Jesus said that.
Problem is Jesus was not talking about your perfection but His perfect righteousness which you receive as a gift.
Romans 5:17
"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive
God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"
2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
(sorrow for sin and offending God)Regardless of how "heartfelt" your feel about your sin before God it does not prove your fate.
Jeremiah 17:9
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?"
Amen!I'm relying on both Jesus and myself because I believe that my actions contribute towards my salvation. As the scriptures say:
"faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
James 2:17
"a person is justified by works and not by faith alone."
James 2:24
"faith apart from works is dead."
James 2:26
So I believe that in order for me to be saved I need to put in the righteous work, which is to live and act how Jesus is training me to, and have faith that he's backing me BECAUSE I'm following his instructions. But if I ignore his instructions then He won't back me regardless of the faith I have in Him.
the free gift of God is justification we must participate with grace unto eternal salvationYou are rejecting that free gift of salvation and that perfect gift of righteousness.
Because you are striving to accomplish that perfection that Jesus commanded.
Romans 5:10
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having
been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
You have nothing to do with that reconciliation and your saved by His life not anything you do in your life.
2 Corinthians 5:18
Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
You definitely have a gospel that states that your input into that reconciliation saves you.
What is amazing about grace if it's all about your own effort to realize salvation?
Lk 3:9You are rejecting that free gift of salvation and that perfect gift of righteousness.

do you think we can do absolutely nothing? You are rejecting that free gift of salvation and that perfect gift of righteousness.

you are describing the free gift of the grace of justification and declaring it to be "ETERNAL SALVATION"!Blasphemy, blasphemy, blasphemy.
Colossians 1:13-14
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom
we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Did you transfer yourself from the domain of darkness to the kingdom above?
That gift of the atonement by Jesus, that perfect sacrifice for your evil ways, is what saves you.
You have the traditional heretical understanding of that free gift of salvation given to those, that call on the name
of Jesus.
after the grace of justificationThe narrow road, the doorway, the Truth, is and only is Jesus at every point in the New Testament.
Do not pollute the Gospel of Jesus Christ with your pathetic attempts at a personal righteousness.
That narrow road your on is a self centered, self righteous, failed attempt to justify yourself.
