Ok....
For the women who are serious coffee drinkers....this ain't gonna work.
And it's kinda unnerving that a guy would drink from a Keurig to begin with BY CHOICE ......at home.

At home guys use a Mr. Coffee or some other drip machine. Maybe even a percolator.
A single serve is usually a V-60 or a French press.....not a Keurig.

Then......

Legion lives in Texas....
He is driving a Car?
In the land of SUVs and Pickup trucks?

What is wrong with him?
Is he sick?
Next thing you know he'll be saying things like "I like my Subaru" or "I just love my Prius"

Man card has some serious demerits in it.....

I'm wondering what this would make the kids...

I think legion should put that keurig in the passenger seat and drive it around DFW. They might get more attention if seen together. 🤣

This made me laugh out loud @Parable, thank you!!!

It reminds of the days when "cordless" phones were first coming out.

For anyone who might not know what I'm talking about...

NOT cell phones, but cordless phones, which were seen as revolutionary at the time (What? You could actually walk from room to room in your house -- AND TALK ON THE PHONE AT THE SAME TIME??)

And this was before they even put digital numbers on them.

Anyway, I once saw a guy driving in his car while talking on one of these bad boys!

I don't know if he was trying to impress the ladies (or if he just had a really, REALLY important call,) but I was just a kid -- and I remember thinking it was hilarious! 😁

Ive been married for 18 years and yes i believe the code has been cracked here. We started off heavy Keurig users and then slowly had to back off as the keurig is needy and high maintenance and too pricey, now K comes out once a Christmas, and visits ..perky, noisy and aromatic.. and can make that very special cappuccino... then once the holidays are over, as the tree is taken down, lights are removed, friends and family depart, K goes back in the cabinet to wait another year to spread joy and cheer. Keys to marriage, God being center, sacrifice, love, communication and Keurig.

Thank for this, @KH777!!

Your post was a delight to read and had me laughing out loud!!!

We singles get all kinds of "marriage advice" and it's usually pretty repetitious...

In all my years of singledom, I have NEVER heard a married person disclose the REAL secret to marital bliss (aside from God, love, and sacrifice) -- a KEURIG!

Now THIS is the REAL meat and potatoes (not to mention, coffee) that we singles want to hear!

Up until now, none of knew that this was one of the MAJOR keys to building a solid, happy Christian marriage!!

Many kudos to you for sharing this, and please, stop by with more sound advice in the future! 😁

@seoulsearch 😂..ok so ..your original post/response just cracked me up...LOL and now I'm laughing again as well, and yes I wasn't sure if my status forbade me from the single group chatter ...so thankyou so much for the very kind, warm reply......as with all relationships, definitely comes with challenges..however in an awkward moment if at the beginning the Keurig can perk up and break the ice...(Get a cheap one they are noisier) or in an awkward argument over nonsense..it also works when you dont know what to say after hours of silence to simply ask "hey, is the Keurig still in there?" Most appliances work this way..teehee...and you forgot about the original fight as it morphs into a deep discussion on where the best coffee beans can be found....see that? Bam...argument avoided...or detoured ..maybe just postponed...ok..perhaps still arguing but now ..over some delicious coffee.. 😂

You had me until the Keurig. 😄 I've switched sides, these days I'm more likely to be found with a proper cup of loose-leaf tea than a cup of coffee.

Uh oh...

It was bound to happen...

But really, people.

Who let in someone that's playing for the OTHER team??! (Don't worry @SoulFaith, our very own @cinder will agree with you when she gets here, and you're in very good company!)

Still, though.

This places SERIOUS doubts on our security team for these threads...

(Time to re-hire!!)

Well shoot....
I mean, if your security team is letting us married folk just walk right into your singles parties any old time we choose, do you really think the security team is going to jump in and toss out a person just for stating they prefer tea over coffee?

Now THIS is exactly the kind of marriage advice we singles want to hear about!!

Hi @KH777!

If we haven't officially met, I'm Seoul, and it's very nice to meet you! I know there's a lot of debate on whether marrieds should be allowed to post in Singles, etc.

I first started on this site in 2009, and the site was very busy, so there were more active places on the forum for people to go to -- making the lines were much clearer then. Over time, with so many other sites for people to spend time on, CC has slowed down and now people pay more attention to whether a topic sounds fun or interesting and not so much where it's posted.

There are many of us here in Singles who have been here 10+ years, and you'll see often see us bantering away, so feel free to join in.

We also love married friends who are kind, compassionate, and can banter right along with us! Unfortunately, over the years, we've had many SAP's (self-appointed preachers and prophets) try to plant themselves here to try to preach to us about how we should be living. But they don't know anything about us -- nor do they bother taking the time to get to know us. Many here were abandoned by spouses and have kids, etc., so we're not rookies at life.

Just a few days ago, someone came in and told us we were too young to know anything about love or marriage. Ironically, that poster was quoting a post from someone 15 years older than him!! So this is what I mean... Patronizing without personal relationship -- which is something many of us tend to ignore.

I'd guess the average age in Singles these days is about 45, but a good number of regulars are in their 50's, 60's, 70's -- and each has their own unique life story.

You seem like a well-balanced, understanding, and very interesting person, and that's something we love to see in Singles! (Unfortunately, it can be rare to find.)

Welcome to the Dark Side (we have cookies to go with that coffee!!) and I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to keep posting here! :)

Ohh don't worry! "Singles forum" is just the title.
Plenty of us old, married folk run around in there with them.
They love us! I think... at least that's what they (er some of them) keep telling me.
They certainly provide plenty of non-Karen drama....which is a lovely change of pace.

@Godsgirl1983 has some of the funniest posts in all of Singles!!

She's one of those rare people who can call us out (in fun) without cutting us down -- and we love her for that!

The Singles Forum wouldn't be the same without her.

Well I'm out because of my gender.

Good luck though.

I didn't know the keurig was necessary though... Maybe that's why I'm still single. I don't drink coffee. And if I DID drink coffee... The coffee drinkers in my family drink enough that a keurig would be impractical. They don't wanna wait around all day for the next cup 16 times.

Nah, I'm just too lazy to go looking for her.

But I can still blame it on the absence of the keurig.
Maybe it's not the Keurig after all... perhaps it's the lack of a good cup of tea. 😄

Well, you know...
I have the skills to apply 💪
 but somehow I think I'd be disqualified from the get go.

On second thought, GG...

YOU'RE HIRED!!!

We need to have a MARRIED person kicking out any of the unruly "Your Life Is Meaningless Unless You Get Married, You Worthless Single People!" - preaching marrieds who come in here.

I mean, if we didn't have a MARRIED person policing the MARRIED population in SINGLES...

Obviously, we'd be accused of being unequally yoked.

Well I love tea and don't touch the burnt bean jitter juice. But I'm still single so it's not the tea thing.

And to win over a tea drinker you don't need a keurig, you need a fancy electric kettle with temp settings to make sure any tea is brewed at the correct temperature. And also a rather impressive collection of loose leaf tea and brew baskets. Ability to make scones and clotted cream is also a definite plus but not strictly required.
