Well - we will have to disagree --- I believe - according to scripture - it goes directly against what God intended - and that, He declares this in no uncertain terms in His Word.

Not to mention - there are a LOT of things that have existed in this world for a long time - that does not mean they are correct/good/honest/innocent/proper/righteous/etc.

I never seen the movie. But they should have gotten young actors from the age of 14-16. Because when those wars really took place, that is how old the soldiors where. Also, the captain was middle 20s to 30.
History is very interesting. I cringe at the fact that even today recruiters target high school students and glamorize warfare with free video games they pass out to them before they are mature enough to comprehend the repercussions.

The whole world is full of corruption (blame Satan) - yes, America has its share - there is no doubt; however, if I remember correctly, the origin of the term "God's country" is more so a reflection of it being a place that is exceedingly blessed by God rather than a direct estimation of how "righteous" it is in-its-own-right (so to speak). In other words, the 'focus' is on the 'goodness of God' rather than the 'goodness of man' - in that sense...

So, like, are you trying to imply God EXCLUSIVELY blessed America? What happened to "go make disciples of all nations"? Are you, in turn, saying Donald Trump is God's chosen leader for America? Is that correct or is there something I'm missing?

I had relative who was gay. I told him that was a dangerous and sinful lifestyle that seems to quickly become a stronghold if not addressed quickly enough. I didn't say, "You're gay! You'll go to hell!" which is true, but that would just make him more stubborn about it, so I left it at that.

Instead, I lifted him up to the Lord and told God what was up with him and how I didn't want him enslaved to that. And you know what happened?!?? HE ACTUALLY STOPPED!!! I almost fainted! But I privately, I rejoiced and worshipped God so much! God is so strong! Pray for them! They can be delivered from it!

Going from memory, there are 3 lists of sins including this one regarding reprobates and sodomites. The lists indicate that these are sins common to that category of people.
Everybody is prideful at times and may commit certain sins on the lists. I agree with your point and believe what that list in Ezekiel shows is that these are some of the typical ones that their group/city was guilty of.
I heard a few pastors say that their sex was not the sin, that it was those on this list instead, to excuse the other. I know that's not what you are saying, but this is the rainbow flag preacher's one "proof text" they like to use.
Proper interpretation as you pointed out is essential.

The sodomites like to play games like capture the flag 🏳️‍🌈 like they do with the symbol of the rainbow as their sin list of inclusion. They also like to co-opt a Bible verse or three.

The Internet is a great resource to find actual scholarship based on detailed analysis of scripture, not just someone’s opinion. What about that love between Jonathan and David, according to scripture? Some have put good studies online on the question.

The first mention is the following: “And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit/qashar with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” (1Sam 18:1, KJV)
[Some Hebrew/English Interlinear OTs include the gender modifiers and what I have underlined in these read: “and soul-of Jonathan she-was-tied in soul of David”. The Hebrew qashar is modified by “she” in 3 OT verses, and the other two are of women, Gn.38:28 & Josh 2:21.

Many times qashar is modified by male gender, and always in verses about men. Why was Jonathan’s soul referred to as “she”, along with two other verses which are females? Not all Heb/Eng Interlinear Bibles include the gender modifiers, but one you can read online does:

The love in 1 Sam. 18:3 is H160 אַהֲבָה 'ahabah and the first use of the word is in:
“And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.” (Gen 29:21, KJV)

Omitting the couple of times the word H160 is used of God’s love, human love from the first occurrence is used of Jonathan and David in 1 Sam. 18:3; 20:17, and then 2 Sam. 1:26. It is used once again before the close of 2 Kings and it reads:

"Then Amnon hated her with exceeding great hatred; for the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love(H160) wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone." (2Sam 13:15 ASV) ** Ammon loveth his sister Tamar; ravisheth her; then hateth and driveth her away, 2Sa 13:1-19

The choice of the Hebrew for love regarding Jonathan and David appears to be quite clear.

Reading the last reference to Jonathan and David, we read:
“I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.” (2Sam 1:26, KJV)

First, the love is of women plural, not a wife or mother. It is not the love of father or brother, but the “love of women”. Since it is plural, to make it wife, it has to be wives. How great is the love, a non-sexual love of a harem?? The meaning is so clear, that about the 8th century, the Latin Vulgate copyists added a completely spurious, false sentence found in no manuscript and it is seen as the Douay-Rheims renders the Latin of the verse:

“I grieve for thee, my brother Jonathan: exceeding beautiful, and amiable to me above the love of women. As the mother loveth her only son, so did I love thee.” (2Sa 1:26 DRB)

You don’t need to be the sharpest tool in the shed to know why the church copyists about the 8th century began adding that sentence. The church itself let the cat out of the bag on this one!

It cannot be said this teaches that David and Jonathan ever engaged in sex, but it cannot be said that it doesn’t suggest something homoerotic. David had about 10 wives and a hundred concubines, so sexual faithfulness does not seem high in David’s mind.

Legion, you used the phrase “when you start lining things up with the rest of scripture”, but when you compare scripture to scripture, you have to be able to interpret and explain each verse or passage. You totally avoided addressing the subject of my post.

The Watchtower cult can line up their proof texts claiming that Jesus was not God incarnate, but a created being. But when you do a detail study of each verse they use, they read into what it does not say, in order to support their damning heresy. So, making statements about the analogy of scripture or consistency in doctrine, you need to look carefully at the verses selected.

I have found that in religious homophobia, people resort to theological constructions and avoid explaining in detail what each verse in context actually states. Too much of theological constructions come out of the mind of man, not the word of God. I don’t know of any verse that condemns the following:

Two Christian males live together in a long term, enduring, faithful and loving relationship. They live discreetly, are not into preposterous gay marriage, and you won’t find them in those disgusting Gay Pride Parades! They live so that they are respected and considered great neighbors in their neighborhood. In other words, they strive to have true love:

This is a Forum for Pastors and other church leaders, and if they have not run them away, they may have one individual of this couple who attend faithfully and profess to be God’s child, born from above. I would be thinking of what we will say on the day we meet Jesus Christ. I say “we” because I post in a manner like a teacher, so I’ll be held responsible for how I handled God’s word on this most difficult situation. It is truly a most difficult situation for the Pastor as to how to handle this, especially if the one sitting in the pew has been in the church for several years, faithful and true to the church covenant, unknown to most members of his relationship with another male.
