Hey Everyone!

I wanted to title this thread, "Feeling Nauti!) (as in, Nautical,) but wasn't sure if that would be pushing things too far, so let's try the Vitamin Sea angle instead!

Lanolin asked some other great questions in her post about a Christian Chat Cruise that I didn't want to let go to waste. I know we touched on these in the first thread, but maybe just for fun, we can "dive" into them a little deeper!

A CCC! That would be fun!

Well we can dream...start a thread Captain Seoulsearch. What will you eat in the buffet? Everything? What entertainments shall we have? What excursions shall we sign up for?

So...

1. Would you prefer eating at the buffets, or would you want to eat at a sit-down (order your meal) restaurant?

I've had friends and family who are uncomfortable with buffets, so I can see why they would want a sit-down option.

Also, what kinds of foods would you hope they would have for you to try?

Do you have any special dietary needs/food allergies that you would have to work around?

I have to admit I gravitate towards buffets so I can try some of everything.

And, I must confess to actually LIKING those mass quantity powdered eggs they serve at buffets!!

I'm really spilling ALL my SECRETS and HIDDEN AGENDAS here (joke from another thread) -- YES, I'm willing to board a ship -- just to eat powdered eggs with my CC friends!!! SHOCKING, I know!!!

2. What kind of entertainment would you want to go to?

We've already had several mentions of karaoke and playing music, but what would YOU like to see?!

A play, a musical, live game shows, magicians?! (I would be partial to live bands, a magic show, and interesting presentations -- such as "How to Make Towel Animals", like on the cruise I was on.)

1784567114802.png

3. What kinds of Off-Ship Excursions would you be interested in?

I don't know how to scuba dive, but have admit that I've always thought shark cage diving sounded cool!! I'm not sure I'd be able to face a great white (one of my favorites!), but it sure would be awesome!! (However, I'd take a visit to the local aquarium as the next best thing.)

1784567300425.png

Of course, it all depends on where we're going, but here is a partial list of Popular Cruise Excursions I found on Google:

1. Dog sledding on a glacier (Alaska)

2. Exploring a shipwreck, coral reefs, things underwater

3. Local foodie/wine tours

4. Bus/Driving/Helicoptor tour

5. Ziplining

6. Tours of local sites (ruins, land marks, museums, shopping, etc.)

7. Water sports, beach day, swimming with dolphins and local wildlife

8. Hiking, viewing waterfalls, exploring caves, etc.

Which activities here catch YOUR eye -- which ones would you be happy to pass up -- and what are some others you'd like to go on?

I've always wanted to go ziplining, so that would be top on my list. I would most definitely pass up a beach day. I love the sunrises and sunsets, but sitting and frying on the beach all day while battling sand, bugs, and outhouses (if any were even available,) is NOT my idea of fun!

How about you?

4. And of course, we've come to The Most Important Question of All -- How Do You Feel About Cruise Ducks?!!

Apparently, it's a bit of a cruising tradition that people will bring small plastic ducks or other goodies to hide around the ship. Each gift has a tag stating when and by who it was placed, as well as contact info (like a Facebook page) where you can report/share pictures of which duck you've found one and where it finally docks!

The fun is in seeing the wide variety of people and places all over the world your ducks end up calling home!

As Christians, it would be fun to include an encouraging Bible verse and maybe info for a good church on the tags with our ducks. 🙏🏼

We'd have to check with the ship's regulations first, but, if we get permission -- who's with me???

If I came on board with a suitcase full of these little guys:

1784568584508.png

Who's going to help me tag and hide them? 😎😁😉

Are those boat shoes??

I mean really

You need to team with the theme!

Depending what season/where we going

Please pack...ladies sunnies, stripy top, long dress/gown, kaftan/wrap dress, boat shoes, espadrilles, hat, and don't forget puffy life jacket/vest
men...sunnies, boat shoes, chinos, button down shirt, cable knit jumper, tuxedo, and puffy life jacket/vest

No walking round in your pjs outside your cabin please! That's just the rule. We will all have our own washrooms, don't worry. You will be supplied with specially monogrammed bathrobes and slippers, and matching satin pjs.

There will be a fancy dress costume hire on board for our masquerade evening

1. Would you prefer eating at the buffets, or would you want to eat at a sit-down (order your meal) restaurant?

If its breakfast, I'll pick the buffet. If it's sit down, what kind of burgers or sandwiches have they got?

Coffee!!!

2. What kind of entertainment would you want to go to?
No entertainment is really necessary. I'll take in a good movie if they got one.

3. What kinds of Off-Ship Excursions would you be interested in?
3. Local foodie/wine tours..
6. Tours of local sites (ruins, land marks, museums, shopping, etc.)

No cruise ducks... 🤦

Would you prefer eating at the buffets, or would you want to eat at a sit-down (order your meal) restaurant?

Buffet for me. Maybe my Pie's Pie/Pie Pressure eatery will have a savory and sweet pie buffet and maybe a rubber duck cake.

What kind of entertainment would you want to go to?

I'm personally not keen on Karaoke (please everyone, no Carrie-Okie jokes!), but I wouldn't mind live bands, magic show, possibly a good presentation, or an action movie.

What kinds of Off-Ship Excursions would you be interested in?

All the ones you listed sound fun, except I'll skip the wine tours. I'd go for a beer tasting shindig though.
The excursions that I'd be most interested in are hiking, museums, ziplining, caves, the shark cage, dog sledding, and maybe local landmarks (depending on what they are).

Cruise ducks sound found, why not!

Oh, as far as apparel goes, I'd wouldn't go with the overly casual or the overly dressed look. I probably wear something similar as what I had on in that dino pic I posted in the transportation thread.

No cruise ducks... 🤦

Ok @RodB651, I was all "on board" with your post -- until I got to the last part. 😭

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "no cruise ducks"??! 😢

But what if I NEED to go on a 5 AM Cruise Duck Hiding Spree and need an accomplice, er, I mean, someone to carry the basket of ducks?!

Rodney is one of those rare morning people (like myself,) so I was really hoping I could talk him into "seas-ing the day" -- with an early morning delivery of little quackers!

Le sigh.

There goes all MY fun... 😢

Right on, @CarriePie!

Though you'll have to forgive me for laughing out loud at the "Carrie-Oke" pun, just because it's so clever! 😁

And now I'm wondering if anyone will find our cruise ducks...

If we hide them in the shark cage! :D 😎🦈

I mean, no one can say we didn't think of an original hiding place!

@CarriePie,

Just out of curiosity -- after reading your hilarious exchange with @Charlesiii in the Linked Words Game thread this morning...

How likely are Whangdoodles to be found at sea?

(And particularly, on our ship??!)

Er... I mean...

Asking for a friend.

As far as I know, @Charlesiii eradicated the Whangdoodles from the seas in his pirate ship a while back.

However, there's always a possibility of one or more of them sneaking aboard the cruise ship. We'll be sure to be there to make sure everyone is safe (if Charles also agrees).

I'm also pondering whether we could put some sort of device in your cruise ducks. Something like an ultrasonic Whangdoodle repellent. This way the ducks are serving another purpose whilst they are hidden and scattered about. Surely Rod won't dissuade your ducks now!

You see @RodB651?!!

@CarriePie just thought of a VERY important purpose for those cruise ducks!!!

Now I've never actually SEEN a Whangdoodle, but if CarriePie has made it her life's mission to valiantly fight them off, I'm pretty sure those little vermin must be something awful. *shudders*

Actually...

I'm just trying to rope people into meeting for early-morning coffee 😁 (and yes, perhaps delivering a few cruise ducks.)

But keeping the Whangdoodle population under control would be a nice bonus. 😎

Is @Charlesiii coming?
And bringing the Camilla Flotilla with him?

There will be plenty of opportunities for whale watching. I believe whales can swallow whangdoodles whole.

Not sure about the shark cage. Dolphins, yes, but there will only be sharks if we cruise out Australia way.

The Giraffes request an excursion to Madagascar. They've always wanted to visit the place. Giraffes are no stranger to being at sea, after all, how did they ever get to the zoos? They can't fit on a standard airplane. Even when they are babies.

Who would put off meeting for coffee with you?! Not to mention being on a fun covert rubber ducky mission that will also help
protect everyone on the ship. Coffee can be sipped with great satisfaction! :coffee:

Those rubber duckies are so cute!

For those holed up in their cabins in self-imposed quarantine, we're offering these in a complimentary goodie bag.

Well, since we're drinking coffee...

A buffet is the only reason I'd want to go. And it must have brisket and lots of meat choices. I'm not really into seafood, but lobster would be nice as long as my allergy doesn't come back. It also has to have a gym with lots of equipment including free weights. The only activity I'd be interested in is the helicopter ride. I guess I'm not much of a cruise fan.
