I see no reason why we and Trump are not Christians on this side, although none of us have a perfectly surrendered life.
I am glad that your tendency toward judgmentalism is not due to hate. I guess all of us have that temptation to deal with.
I hope you will keep encouraging me to persevere in surrendering, and I hope you will teach me whose policies you think are better than Trump's--besides Christ's of course. Our binary choice at this time is between Marxist Dems and MAGA Pubs.
BTW, I considered adding "surrender" to the creed, but it contains so many synonyms that I thought it unnecessary.
I trust you saw my bumped post to you about that.
The surrendered life isn't about perfection, it's about being genuine. We know and God knows if that surrendered life (our faith) is our top priority.
Now let's look at my ( judgmentalism). Is the watchman able to be a watchman if he or she isn't making judgments? If the watchman is in some kind of wrong by discerning a stumbling block and making the warning, there shouldn't be any watchmen. But there are, and they do make discerning judgements, temporal judgments, not eternal judgments. All for the good of the stumbler, their households, and the body of Christ.
38 years ago, when i first started tasting the heavenly gift, there was an inevitable accompaniment. That accompaniment is a burning desire to know more about Him. That burning desire reveals itself by lots and lots of seeking and asking questions, talking and listening to anyone who claims to fulfill that desire. Only the message is what is important, not the messenger. If I was always looking at the messenger first, the developing Holy Spirit would never get the chance to make the discernment of the messages.
I've gone way past my comfort level in trying to bring you the truth about our faith being a continually surrendered life , and you response has been about my judging you, egoistic, a hater of things, including Trump and conservatives. The biggest thing i look at for a correct response is , where are the right questions? You've been asking all the wrong questions.
I only look at worldly things to satisfy my own desires to know what satan is up to. Those policies that you seem to think are of God, are satan bringing forth his kingdom. If the ones making the policies are not in Christ, they are of satan. I would be surprised if there is a single Christian in our government. There may be some called out ones , but none that have made the genuine surrendered life. And of course you'll want to know how I can make a statement like that, it's simple, you know if a person is a Christian by the way they give. Do you see any politicians leaving office with less money than they had when they went in? A real Christian has a burning desire to give just like t hose at Pentecost.
Many are called, few are chosen. Let me give a perspective on that verse.
Many are called to surrender their lives to Him, few actually do it. That word few in the Greek is a very small number. First, we have the lucky ones, that small group called out from among a larger group of those who are not called. And out of that small group of called, only a few will actually be chosen. What is being chosen or accepted, the surrendered life.
Can you look past this flawed imperfect messenger, and really look at what's important, the message?
