No Jesus and a surrendered life to Him is my best option.

We just have two different kinds of thinking, you with trump and the world, me with Jesus and the spirit.

You have made your choice and I have made mine.

It should be obvious that Jesus is not running for President, so He is NO option other than in the sense
that we can vote for the person most likely to do God's will on earth, which IMO is MAGA's current leader.

The NT urges Christians to make the world better, NOT to withdraw to a monastery as you want/choose to do.
IOW, the NT urges you to live a surrendered life to Christ, NOT to surrender to the Marxist-Islamist enemy.

I've always said there's no doubt your one of the called out ones. But you must be doing something wrong in your faith life aka" the continually surrendered life ".

My guess is all the blessings God has bestowed upon you over the years have been understood by you to be for yourself. That's Him testing your faith, your surrendered life. if the Spirit is being developed in you, you would have seen those blessings as a means to give to others in need, instead of homes, bank accounts, retirement funds, vacation properties, that secret safety net in your back pocket in case God doesn't do what you want. That's called a half measure and will avail nothing.

And who is your influence, not Gods word, but president trump, the king of selfishness.

This post is the answer to one of many questions you should have asked me months ago.

I sense your anger when the truth about Trump is exposed, so I won't bring Him up again.

My guess is that you were not a millionaire who has given everything to the poor.
I am thankful for God's blessings and share with others.

You have never explained how your life is more surrendered than Trump's, who nearly gave it for you thrice.

You sense my love for God and the country He has blessed me with and my frustration with those like you
who despise their birthright, repeating the sin of Esau instead of learning from it.

Your doing it again.

The giving of money is one of the most spiritual acts we can perform, especially done in secret . You can't be a Christian if your not a giver. Just like at Pentecost, they gave everything they had and the only thing they wanted for it was to do it all over again . "They begged with much begging that they might continue to participate. "

They didn't refuse to tell people even their first names in fear by someone knowing their first name they could take their hoarded blessings of God. That is todays christian.

So what? Why is it wrong to support Trump/MAGA, thereby defending my God-given birthright?
YOU should do such for the first time instead of hiding in a monastery!

I was referring to you misrepresenting me.

And you don't need to live in a monastery to live a continually surrendered life.

Things happen when the surrendered life is accepted as Genuine. Discerning president Trump as Christian or not would be one of the easier discernments of sight.

And I only make that discernment temporally. He may be changed tomorrow.

I am sorry if I misunderstand you, but what you said implied that you effectively retreat to a monastery rather than help Trump/MAGA fight for right/GW to be done on earth in the US.

My discernment is that he has already been changed by his near death experiences, which he views as being kept alive by God in order to help save the world politically by being a peace-deal maker.

How about we stop talking about trump, the more you say about Him, the more credibility you loose, at least with me.

How about stop hating/slandering Trump and begin talking about whose policies you think are better than his/MAGA?
Credible criticism is constructive.

We're looking at Trump from two different perspectives , I can't teach you mine you have to experience it.

Hate, slander, those things don't reside in me. What resides in me is a chance that I might persuade you to make a more genuine surrendered life. I felt like you were worth the extra effort. I hope I can call you brother on the other side, Selah.

I see no reason why we and Trump are not Christians on this side, although none of us have a perfectly surrendered life.
I am glad that your tendency toward judgmentalism is not due to hate. I guess all of us have that temptation to deal with.

I hope you will keep encouraging me to persevere in surrendering, and I hope you will teach me whose policies you think are better than Trump's--besides Christ's of course. Our binary choice at this time is between Marxist Dems and MAGA Pubs.

BTW, I considered adding "surrender" to the creed, but it contains so many synonyms that I thought it unnecessary.
I trust you saw my bumped post to you about that.

The surrendered life isn't about perfection, it's about being genuine. We know and God knows if that surrendered life (our faith) is our top priority.

Now let's look at my ( judgmentalism). Is the watchman able to be a watchman if he or she isn't making judgments? If the watchman is in some kind of wrong by discerning a stumbling block and making the warning, there shouldn't be any watchmen. But there are, and they do make discerning judgements, temporal judgments, not eternal judgments. All for the good of the stumbler, their households, and the body of Christ.

38 years ago, when i first started tasting the heavenly gift, there was an inevitable accompaniment. That accompaniment is a burning desire to know more about Him. That burning desire reveals itself by lots and lots of seeking and asking questions, talking and listening to anyone who claims to fulfill that desire. Only the message is what is important, not the messenger. If I was always looking at the messenger first, the developing Holy Spirit would never get the chance to make the discernment of the messages.

I've gone way past my comfort level in trying to bring you the truth about our faith being a continually surrendered life , and you response has been about my judging you, egoistic, a hater of things, including Trump and conservatives. The biggest thing i look at for a correct response is , where are the right questions? You've been asking all the wrong questions.

I only look at worldly things to satisfy my own desires to know what satan is up to. Those policies that you seem to think are of God, are satan bringing forth his kingdom. If the ones making the policies are not in Christ, they are of satan. I would be surprised if there is a single Christian in our government. There may be some called out ones , but none that have made the genuine surrendered life. And of course you'll want to know how I can make a statement like that, it's simple, you know if a person is a Christian by the way they give. Do you see any politicians leaving office with less money than they had when they went in? A real Christian has a burning desire to give just like t hose at Pentecost.

Many are called, few are chosen. Let me give a perspective on that verse.
Many are called to surrender their lives to Him, few actually do it. That word few in the Greek is a very small number. First, we have the lucky ones, that small group called out from among a larger group of those who are not called. And out of that small group of called, only a few will actually be chosen. What is being chosen or accepted, the surrendered life.

Can you look past this flawed imperfect messenger, and really look at what's important, the message?

I am glad what I mistook for a judgmental attitude is merely the attempt to be discerning, which I also do.
As I said, I also value genuineness or honesty.

I am happy to detect/discern in this post your love for truth/desire to learn GW.
Sorry I caused you discomfort, but here is some more: I discern divine blessings via Trump's policies.

Saying you see no Christian in our government quacks like judgmentalism, because I discern many/most among the MAGA folks.
Are you sure it isn't about perfection?

Scripture does not command all Christians to end life with less money than they began with.
Not everyone has the gift of giving.

I do not discern your life as better than Trump's, for example, who WILL leave office with less, because he is donating his salary to charity and the Dems have sued him for millions.

I look past your message to what's important: What Scripture says.
I discern some agreement, but there is much room for improvement.

Well gwh, since you're seemingly on board with the importance of Biblical faith being a continually surrendered life, maybe we also share in the importance of dealing with the mistranslated words believe, believer, and believing?

I assume you see the problem with the called out ones taking the English version of pisteuo or the verb form of faith as simply just believing in what Jesus did and said, being the correct response to the call of the Father.

If I'm correct with the discernment and we are on the same page concerning understanding faith , how can we better warn our fellow called out ones about this?

Well, one way I have been doing this on CC is by sponsoring various threads about aspects of the surrendered life, including:

The Kerygma: God's Requirement for Salvation
The Holy Spirit/God's Word
The Teachings of Jesus
The Teachings of Paul

The problem with that list as I see it, is if a called out one has not made the initial surrendered life, has not gone through the testing, and had the surrendered life ( faith) deemed acceptable by God and sealed with the Holy Spirit, most of the things on that list wouldn't be theirs yet. Cart infront of the horse scenario.
Thats the problem, not fulfilling the mandatory faith life (a continual surrender), then learn what goes along with it second.

Rom 8:9
If we don't have the Spirit of Christ first, Jesus, His word, and His promises are none of ours. So if I sense someone doesn't know what faith even is, I won't talk about Gods word much until the obvious is remedied.

Make sense?

That's why the hard push for this understanding.

Yes, it makes sense per Scripture that repentance and surrendering to Jesus as Lord must occur before a person would be willing to suffer for Christ. Even semantically the beginning of saving faith must happen before its continuation.

I admit that most of my threads other than Apologetics and Kerygma are for those who have saving faith,
which I understand as beginning with love for/seeking truth and continuing as love for the Lord/surrender to His will as found/learned.
IOW, my gift is oriented toward discipleship more than evangelism, although I hope those two threads cover the beginning adequately.

With Elon Musk an atheist at his side, courting the big tech world in billions of dollars, clearing the way for the tool of the antichrist.

If we are truly surrendering our lives to Him, those things are none of our business now, they are Gods business.
Musk owes nothing and has done no harm to either you or me. Thank God for the cold blood of engineers.

Yes, my Christian dad was a mechanical engineer who helped our nation's nuclear weapons development programs,
so I affirm that we should view math as a spiritual gift, which I definitely did not inherit. Like any gift, it can be used
for good or evil purposes, and helping to keep Christians in America free to evangelize the world is a divine blessing.
I wonder how you "know" that.

Here's a video where Trump said he has never asked God for forgiveness: https://www.c-span.org/clip/campaign-2016/user-clip-trump-doesnt-ask-god-for-forgiveness/4585899

And he famously said, in contrast to Charlie Kirk, "I hate my opponents and don't want the best for them." as if, you know, he believes he is struggling against flesh and blood.

So how is he able to give someone forgiveness if he says 1, he does not need it from God himself and 2, he hates his opponents.

There is a real version of Trump Derangement Syndrome and it's the one that promotes him as a proper representative of one who is in Christ.

I just got around to viewing the video, which does indicate that Trump was led astray by Norman Vincent Peale not to confess sins but instead to try to do right, when Scripture commands both, so there is room for improvement of Trump's understanding.

I wonder what his answer would be to that question now (ten years later)? Have his faith and love grown? I see evidence that it has, but are there any current clips?

Is God free? No because He is expensive requiring everything you got and everything you are. Expensive not free. God probably can't be "evil" because that is a human construct.

Can He do things that look evil? Yes and often. He put sin in the Garden. He destroyed virtually everything on earth. He let his males sexually mature angels escape heaven to breed with human and "sin greatly," which He regretted. He killed all the first born children in Egypt. God is depicted as acting directly or issuing commands to kill in more than 150 distinct events or episodes resulting in the death of millions. He demanded both the killing of men and women but let the virgins be taken as sex slaves as a reward for his noble warriors. He had trouble getting David's attention, so God killed 70,000 innocent Hebrews to show David He was the boss. He demanded the extermination of certain nationalities, He struck dead Ananias and Sapphira for telling and incomplete truth.

Can God the Father change his will? Yep. He created everything then regretted it was sorry He did it and killed virtually everything. Then He followed the Akkadian model of making someone build a boat and put two of everything that crawls, walks or flys. In 1 Samuel 15:11, God regrets making Saul king of Israel because Saul turned away from His commands. Perhaps God did not know what would happen which seems to be a recurring theme.

The other questions require only speculations.

I just noticed this post. I like your pun re God being expensive rather than free.

Re Eden: God created the ability to sin as a theoretical option that actualized MFW, but humans actualized it by exercising faith wrongly.

Re killing: God gives everyone the opportunity to repent/be saved, and commands killing only when it is the appropriate consequence for capital crimes, such as murder and lying that is akin to murder per Jesus in John 8:42-44.

I see you affirm that God is free to change His will, and I agree, although He promises never to do so regarding righteousness: what is right (love of good & truth) and wrong (hatred of good & truth).
