Somehow, I'm thinking that one would get approved.
Don't you think terrorising some of the inferior suitors would help keep your levels to a more manageable throughput? And who's to say it needs to be the suitors making offers for you? With the kind of equity you've got, you could probably bank it for a year, and purchase a groom solely on what you collect in interest. Then of course, you could start making the book sales "Sharp investment advice with Seoulsearch", "Unexpected financial tips" or "Budget cuts - the ugly truth about investing".
I don't know of any arranged marriages in my family, not as far back as I've been able to research.
Anyway, do I think my family and/or friends would pick the right spouse for me? Absolutely not.
I'm not here to say what's best from one culture or the next concerning arranged marriages, but I do not believe anyone could choose the right person for me.
My parents weren't partial to me getting married, especially my father. My grandparents weren't partial to me getting married either. My parents didn't want grandkids (which was a relief to me). I'm not saying they prevented or forbid me from marriage/having children! I mean that they advised me to be wise about this decision. From a young age my father drilled into my head, "Girl, think for yourself!" Perhaps my independent brain (thanks dad! lol) has kept me from marriage thus far.
As a young girl, I didn't enjoying shows where the princess married the prince. I preferred watching Captain Kirk, or Dirty Harry taking down bad guys with my dad

Speaking seriously, I think the bride price for Michal being foreskins was cause most of the other nations were circumcised - the Philistines were infamous for being uncircumcised. So a foreskin was some kind of proof of killing a Philistine male (unless raiding a birthing hospital / circumcision clinic was a consideration). Also probably more convenient to carry than a head of a scalp, but I'm not sure the convenience would have outweighed the other negatives.
Or obstetrician. So is that where Brisbane in Australia got it's name from? Or that's to do with something else?
