Is this true or not?
Sometimes, when I'm out with someone, and we don't agree on something or the other, I get told 'we're all different'. Sometimes, I just get plain tired of being different. I try not to take it personally, but all my life it's like I people constantly want to remind me, I am in a minority, a minority of one.
I think something in me wants me to be all the same. Maybe it's just I want to belong somewhere, and not constantly be told I'm different, unusual, or not normal.
What do you think? Is being different a good thing, or bad?
Christians have as many denominations as there are flavours of ice creams it seems. All different, unique, and special. But mix them all up together I don't know if multi-flavoured ice creams taste that nice. Maybe each scoop needs to be separate or some combos are better than others.
Sometimes, I get confused and can't tell any difference, for some people are to me like penguins, and all look the same, and act the same, as everyone else. For sure it's easier to group and classify things by size, shape and colour. But it gets annoying when you are a square peg in a round hole, or a fish out of water, an outsider looking in...
I sometimes wonder if in pretending to fit in or assimilate, maybe we are just fooling ourselves. Individuality has it's perks, but invisibility and camouflage, being able to blend in helps you to survive.
The Hebrews were God's chosen people, different, special, set apart, supposed to be God's holy righteous ones, and example to everyone else. How they tried and kept failing at that assignment. Do we as Christians find it easier to become as Christlike and Godly as He wants us to be? How bout always being told we are members of the body, but sometimes being treated as superfluous? Or of no use?
