btw, i would post a pic of myself if someone showed me how to do it. no one around here knows how. Magenta sent me instructions but i don't have the right equipment.

my wife says yes. i know nothing about modern tech, dislike it much.
Your wife may be able to help. Take a picture of yourself.
Then,go to this website, one of many out there.

Click on the START UPLOADING button.

A window will open so you can choose a picture. It should have a button market, PHOTOS.
Click that.
Find the picture you took of yourself and click on it.

That usually automatically starts the upload to that picture site.

If not, after you click your picture, look for a button on that picture file that says either, "done" or "select". Click that.

Then the photo will upload to the site after you scroll under your picture as it appears on the upload site, and click UPLOAD.

The codes for your image to post it here appear in a box below the picture marked, EMBEDDED CODES. On the right of that tiny box that says Embedded Codes you'll see a down arrow beside the words, viewer links.

Press that down arrow. Scroll down till you see,
BBC CODE FULL LINKED. click that.

A code will appear under that window in brackets. Copy the whole thing. Then, come to this thread, hit Reply
and paste that code.

Then post.
There you are. 🙃

I just figured out how to upload pictures from the "insert image" link in the toolbar. I take a picture on my phone send it to my email and download it to my computer. Then I resize it to 'small- for thumbnails and profile pictures' and rename it so I can easily find it in my 'pictures' folder.
Click 'insert image and then select the dropdown 'Drop image (or click here)' and a new window to your files will open up and you can find the pic you want to post and select it and click "open" and it will upload it to your post.

I don't know if anyone else does this, but when I'm on my phone, I just bring up my own profile, then tap on my current avatar picture (even if it's just a generic letter, like you have now,) which gives you the option to "Edit Avatar."

A notice then pops up that says "Avatar," and you can choose "Use a Custom Avatar," then hit "Browse," which should take you to pictures you've taken on your phone.

Go through your pics until you get to the one you want, click it, and when it takes you back to the "Avatar" box, it should show the current picture you selected -- then hit "Okay." This should change your avatar to the picture you chose.

While I HAVE run into the "this file is too big" with OTHER methods of trying to change my avatar, I haven't gotten that warning with this method -- yet.

I'm not tech-savvy either. I'm just assuming that my camera settings, for right now at least, must take pictures that are within CC's sizing limits.

If image too big, it won't take it.

I just brought up the photo I wanted in my phones gallery, clicked the edit option and cropped the pic. Then I saved the cropped version and tried again to post it, and then it worked.

Tried that twice, both times it said the file was too big and then after I cropped apparently they was acceptable.
