It proves that Jesus' linage through Joseph is of the house of David and he has legitimate and legal claim to the throne of David. It follows that his successor also has legitimate and legal claim to the throne of David. Jesus designated his successor to be his apostle John.
I agree that Jesus, as far as His humanity was concerned, was descended from David. However, where do we read anything about Jesus appointing the apostle John as His successor?

LUKE 6:12-16

12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,

16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

From my understanding, the promises of the NT were not yet in play. Pentecost, and the NT indwelling that placed believers in Christ was still future. So, I believe what Judas had lost was the promise of salvation, and not the literal salvation. He was not yet sealed with the Holy Spirit. It's interesting, now that I think about it, I believe Romans 8:28-30 is speaking about OT believers being predestined to NT believers, and it starts with 'all things work for the good of those who love Him'. It's those who love Him who are predestined to receive the life and be conformed to Christlikeness. Was Judas just evidencing that He was never truly loved Jesus?

It makes me think of Hebrews 6:4 also. OT believers were partakers with the Holy Spirit, yet not indwelt, no?

Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Anyways, 'none shall be lost except....' suggests that Judas was the exception, by design, and not the rule.

Dave

So you boldly go on making unsubstantiated allegations against other members here, and then claim that God has revealed it to you. However, claiming that somebody has written something in a post on this forum doesn't require God to reveal it to you. Youy just have to quote the post where he wrote what you claimed he wrote.

I am not sure that I understand your sentence: "In the Holy Scriptures, God has also revealed someone whose manner was to oppose others." Are you saying that Satan opposes God's people? If so, I agree, The Bible refers to him as "your adversary, the devil."
Because of what God said in Philippians 2:12, “Work out your own salvation,” perhaps it would be better if you just left others alone and we focused only in your own concern, so that you won’t get hurt.

Yes I agree that we should be engaged in Biblical discussion. The trouble is, that some here seem to be claiming private revelations direct from God, and then using those "revelations" as the basis for accusing others here of false beliefs.
Because God said that the truth in His words can hurt our feelings. Therefore, even when it concerns only ourselves, we can already be hurt by it. So perhaps we should focus only on what concerns ourselves and not look at what concerns others, so that we do not hurt ourselves even more.
HEBREWS 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Because of what God said in Philippians 2:12, “Work out your own salvation,” perhaps it would be better if you just left others alone and we focused only in your own concern, so that you won’t get hurt.
That is a despicable dodge of accountability for your own actions. Take your own advice and stop accusing others when you have no evidence.

Further, you have completely missed the point of the passage and applied it where it does not belong.

But that still doesn't provide the evidence to back up your claim that Dino246 said in his posts that Jesus has a devil and is mad. I am sure he didn't (and wouldn't), but you claimed he did.
The truth I share from the Word of God does not come from me, but from God.
Because of what I shared, Dino246, who disagrees with my beliefs, called me foolish, stubborn, and of the devil.

We who know the one true God do not take such insults personally, no matter what evil things people may say against us.
Instead, we understand that the one they are speaking against is God Himself, because this is what the Lord has instructed us to do.
LUKE 10:16
16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

And after that, we leave whatever happens next in God’s hands, for the Lord has said, “Vengeance is mine.”
ROMANS 12:9

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Mr. David Lamb, as I have mentioned to you before, we who know the one true God have been shown by God that there is a distinction between physical life and spiritual life.

In physical life, if you and Dino246 happened to be my neighbors, I would be friends with you.
We could have a beer together at a bar and enjoy talking, or we could have coffee at a coffee shop and share stories about life.
If you had professions and shared your knowledge with me, I would listen to you seriously.
If you had skills that you could teach me, I would also listen and accept them so that I could apply them to my physical life.

However, when it comes to spiritual life, I stand by the truth.
Since what we are discussing here concerns spiritual life, I am sharing the truth from the Word of God, and I am not making accusations.
And regarding your present spiritual condition, both of you, I can say that you are not yet my brothers in Christ Jesus.

I say again, you do not know my spiritual condition. I know, as you do, that there is a distinction between physical life and spiritual life. My faith is in my glorious Saviour, Who said:

NKJV Jhn 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

I do believe in Him by God's grace.

You say you are not making accusations, but telling me and Dino246 that we are not yet your brothers in Christ Jesus certainly looks like accusing us of not being Christians.

I don't disagree with the word of God; I disagree with your corruptions, misrepresentations, and misunderstandings. I call you foolish because you reject sound instruction, which is objectively foolish. I call you stubborn because you consistently resist correction, which is objectively stubborn. I don't recall offhand calling you "of the devil", but if I did, I'm sure there was good reason to do so based on your post or posts at the time.

The truth concerning God and His Word is this: Whoever calls his brother a fool is not of God, for according to the Lord, he will likely go to hell.
MATTHEW 5:22
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

So, if you noticed, when Judas betrayed the Lord Jesus and said this in the presence of the disciples.
Could there have been anything more evil than what Judas did?
Yet not one of the disciples who heard him said to Judas, ‘You fool.’
Because they belonged to God and followed what God said in Matthew 5:22.”

And concerning God and His Word as well: for all have sinned (and you are not exempt from this).
Therefore, everyone has fallen short of the glory of God.
So no human being has the right to teach what is right and wrong.
Therefore, whoever presumes to teach others is not of God.”
ROMANS 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Regarding God and His Word as well: For everyone is included under Romans 3:23.
Therefore, no one can say to another person, ‘You are of the devil.’ Only the Lord has the right to say that, because He has foreknowledge.
MATTHEW 16:23
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

JOHN 8:44
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Therefore, anyone who says such a thing is placing himself on an equal level with God.
In other words, such a person is making himself a god.

I want to make it clear beforehand that these words are not from me. They come from the Lord God.
For Satan seeks to make himself equal with God. God said to him, ‘Although you are a man, you make yourself a god.’
Therefore, to anyone who makes himself equal with God, this is what God says to him.
EZEKIEL 28:2
2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:

PROVERBS 12:13
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

I doubt I would consider you my brother in Christ, so at least we have that in common.
Because we who have come to know the one true God have the courage and confidence to prove the truth of Ecclesiastes 1:9 and Matthew 24:35.

But for those who do not know the one true God, it is enough for them to simply believe these things based on what they are told, without ever being able to prove them to others.
This is because they have not been given eyes to see, ears to hear and understand, or a mouth that can speak.
Even from this alone, it can already be proven who are truly brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
MATTHEW 13:10-15
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Again you invent things the text does not say. Scripture calls certain persons "fool" such as Nabal, the first husband of Abigail. "Fool" is mentioned repeatedly in Proverbs. Somehow you think that someone using the term where it is appropriate is in danger of hell and therefore "not of God"? The text doesn't support that conclusion.

I call you stubborn because you consistently resist correction, which is objectively stubborn.

You really like adding to Scripture, don't you? Romans 3 says nothing whatsoever about presuming to teach others right from wrong. You attempt to teach others what you (erroneously) think is right, but you tell me I'm "not of God" for doing the same thing? You are also a hypocrite!

I don't recall offhand calling you "of the devil", but if I did, I'm sure there was good reason to do so based on your post or posts at the time.

Again you add to Scripture what it simply does not say, ignoring the warning in Proverbs 30:6

"Do not add to His words
Or He will rebuke you, and you will be proved a liar."

Your inventions of "God's revelation" are curious but empty of value. You either do not know the one true God or you do a little and have been deeply deceived by false teaching or a false spirit, or both.

Those who know the one true God, who can see, can never be united with those who do not know the one true God and therefore cannot see.
Likewise, the sheep and the goat can never truly understand each other.

The Jews, led by their preachers, the scribes and Pharisees, also claimed before the Lord that their God was God the Father (John 8:41) . And that was indeed what they believed. However, the Lord did not accept their claim.

As for the groups that make up Christianity today, what you are saying is that what they claim goes even further than what they say and demonstrate through their actions.
Yet the fact that they have different understandings of the Lord Jesus is already enough to show that what comes out of a person’s mouth is not necessarily what God believes to be true.
Rather, it is what is in a person’s heart, what God sees, that truly matters.
JEREMIAH 17:10
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

If somebody is truly a Christian, it will show, even though imperfectly, in the way they live their lives, If somebody claims to be a Christian, and their lives remain exactly as they were before, then it is very doubtful if they really are Christian.

Yes I agree that what is in the heart is what matters to God. God said to Samuel:

NKJV 1Sa 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

That is why I keep telling you that you do not know what is in my heart.

Precious friend, totally agree. That is why I simply "take their word for it", since I am not the "judge of what
I do see in others" = Otherwise judging, I would make an Error believing/saying that an athiest is Saved
because
I"see him doing good works of loving his neighbor", eh? Is not that why God Teaches us This?:

Those who know the one true God don't corrupt His word and make mincemeat of its meaning, then exalt themselves over others while claiming special knowledge.

You keep claiming that you see these things happening, but don't explaining where, when, or how. That's what frauds and liars do: avoid all accountability for their claims.
