I never had one but I probably don't need to look at a ring to know what mood I am in...

(Sobering thought -- sometimes I wonder what kind of ring my ex bought for his new wife, but moving on...)

At any rate, I know I'd still go with the lab-made, much less expensive route if I ever bought something "fancy" again.

For many years, I enjoyed making bracelets like this to give away:

I loved giving them away but never wore them myself, and am thinking about getting back into it.

I'm also intrigued by the role jewelry has played in culture, such as Eliezer giving Rebekah "a gold nose ring and two gold bracelets" after she watered his camels. (Genesis 24:22) The Bible said he gave several other gold and silver items to her family as well.

I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about jewelry!

I grew up at a time when, for some reason, it was trendy for guys to pierce their left ears. I didn't care one way or the other, but my Lutheran church at the time thought it was a HUGE deal, and should be forbidden.

While I didn't mind a single earring on a guy, I preferred a more traditional style (but it definitely doesn't have to be all the time!)

I always liked the "surfer" look or leather bracelets too, because at heart, I'm very casual!

The only "jewelry" I ever wore were wristwatches, but I loved mine. I used to have one of the swatch watches when they were trendy, but I lost it somewhere. I have a watch that looks like the Movado Museum watch. I haven't worn it in decades but I still have it. I also have an original navy seal watch that has markings that glowed in the dark. The glow was guaranteed for 10 years and it did last that long, but it's much older than 10 years now.

Oh I love shiny things 😞 . Always liked wearing silver dangle earrings from being young , never bothered about anything else until about 2016 , I was going through a stressful time , my mum was being horrible to me and my favourite aunty was dying . I started to buy little bits of silver jewellery off the internet . I know now that it was a stress / comfort thing . It felt nice to wake up and wait for the postman to deliver me something pretty to wear . It took me a long time to stop , but I did . In the meantime I amassed quite a nice collection of inexpensive silver rings , bracelets and real stone bead necklaces .
In 2020 I stopped wearing the pretty stone necklaces and most of the rings , the pandemic was tough here and jewellery always seemed to me to b a happy thing and wearing it during that time for some reason didn't feel right . Just in the past year I've started wearing a bead necklace now and again and maybe a ring . It seems a waste not to wear it . I did have a few bits of gold jewellery which I'm not keen on , always preferred silver, but I had to sell it in order to pay vets bills , I didn't mind at all . I don't buy any jewellery any more apart from very occasionally a pair of earrings from a charity shop . Don't need any more that's for sure . Some Christians r about offended by jewellery and I totally understand why but , maybe they spend their money on other things that give them pleasure , that's their business , just as what I spend my money on is my business . The lesson is.....we shouldn't judge the outward appearance and , let's all b glad that Jesus won't do that ❤️
