Yes, I agree with James 1:5-8. But wisdom does not include knowledge of things that God has not chosen to reveal in His word, like what it was that Jesus wrote on the ground. Look at James's words in context:
NKJV Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
Jas 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
Jas 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Jas 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Jas 1:7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
Jas 1:8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
So the wisdom being spoken of is in the context of trials, testing of our faith, and patience. Do you really believe that James was writing about knowing things that are not revealed in the Bible, like who Cain married, what happened to the body of Moses, and what Jesus wrote on the ground?
