The Great Tribulation began in 70 AD and continues to this very day
How does this work?
The Great Tribulation began in 70 AD and continues to this very day
Your list isn’t “proven facts”; it’s a series of claims based on collapsing Daniel’s time markers, overlooking his structural transitions, and forcing first-century figures into passages where the grammar, sequence, and historical context don’t align. Here are the facts of which I have just proven:
Moreover, the fact that Jesus is described in precise detail in the Old Testament will upset many apples carts out there. You now have some serious ammunition against the naysayers. And yet, there are so many here that want to erase Jesus from Daniel 11. I find it most revealing
- The Abomination of Desolation was the Crucifixion
- All of Daniel 11 (and 12) have come to pass
- The Great Tribulation began in 70 AD and continues to this very day
- The Little Horn of Daniel 8 was the early Roman Empire, i.e., the Sixth Head of the Beast
- The 'King of Fierce Countenance' in Daniel 8 is King Herod
- King Herod is described in many later verses of Daniel 11
- The Little Horn of Daniel 7 is the future Antichrist we are still waiting on
- The Little Horn of Daniel 7 is the deadly wound that is healed, i.e., the 'Eighth head of the Seven'
- The movie 'Cleopatra' with Elizibeth Taylor depicts the era in which later verses in Daniel 11 take place
- Octavian, Mark Antony, Cleopatra VII, King Herod and of course Jesus are all major players in Daniel 11
- Even the Disciples, Apostles, followers of Christ are foretold in Daniel 11
- The fact that all of this was foretold years ahead of time should astonish anyone reading
Where does this 7 year tribulation appear in the bible ? The bible says much about tribulation - much tribulation great tribulation etc but nowhere does it say "The Great Tribulation" with the definite article "THE" . . . Sorry correction The NIV adds "THE" to it, but it is not found in the underlying Greek, its the bible scholar adding his own theology to the text. How does this work?
in some commentaries like Scofield. So what they do is add commentaries in the Bible i.e in footnotes or as side bars that 'interpret' the scripture for you. Then somehow people say that is part of the Bible, because it is printed in their Bibles.Where does this 7 year tribulation appear in the bible ? Or an Academy AwardSo its not going to be a Gold statue of Trump ?
The temple mount is considered a holy place. The Jews pray at the western wall. The Temple Institute organization is dedicated to the rebuilding of the temple as well. There is no holy place for the future.. it was destroyed, so this entire eschatology falls apart on this one false notion.
The vision that Nebuchadnezzar had was of a large statue image. The feet were part iron, part clay, Daniel 2:33.
Right. He is the final king of the North in the sequence of their kingdom recorded in Daniel 11, and he is the one that in that chapter also creates the abomination of desolation. It is an idol. Revelation 13 then colors in the end times more and makes this certain in great detail.
So essentially, Israel is going to do something with their re-constructed Temple, that will be an abomination. And because of that, the AC and his army will come and attack.
Revelation 2:12-13 -And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
Revelation 2:13 (New Living Translation) - I know that you live in the city where Satan has his throne, yet you have remained loyal to me. You refused to deny me even when Antipas, my faithful witness, was martyred among you there in Satan’s city.
Revelation 9:6 - And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
The text of all the mentions of the abomination of desolation make clear it is an idol, what the idol looks like, who empowers the idol, who makes the idol, and what it does.
...you forget that three horns get cast down before the little horn...
Daniel 7:24 - And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Daniel 7:17 - These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
Revelation 13:2 - And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Revelation 17:12-14 - And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Well in Daniel 11:21-45 (which is way too long to post but the whole chapter is good) its clear the Beast of the Earth establishes the idol in the image of the Beast of the Sea in Jerusalem.
Daniel 11:44 - But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
...And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Daniel 12:1 - And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Matthew 24:21 - For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
What I was taught - The temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt with the help of the Antichrist. The Jews will not recognize this until the Abomination of Desolation, which is when an Idol will be placed in the temple (Image of the Beast).
...the faulty idea of a 7-year tribulation,
...and the fictional 7-year treaty.
The truth is, there is not one verse in the entire Bible that teaches either concept.
The book of Daniel even tells us that the abomination is NOT the cessation of the sacrifice.
At the very end of the book, the angel tells Daniel that "...from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days." (Dan. 12:11).
This verse clearly tells us that the 'setting up' of the abomination and the cessation of the sacrifice are separated by a period of 1,290 days.
Revelation 12:1 - And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Revelation 12:6 - And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
...the resumption of the sacrifice IS the abomination of desolation.
The truth is, the abomination of desolation is the resumption of animal sacrifices for the sins of mankind when the precious blood of God's only begotten son has already been shed for our desperate sinful condition.
A study into Antiochus Epiphanes might also help understand this question.
