I've decided William, heir to the throne of the British royal family needs his own news thread, since there is already one for Harry, the spare. I haven't put their titles because it always confuses me when one dies or marries and all their names/titles get changed again. So forgive me for just using their Christian names.

William didn't write his own book - something about never explaining, never complaining...(even though complaining is a common UK trait, anyone heard 'musn't grumble' or 'keep calm and carry on'?)

But if we don't ever hear any explanations or complaints from them then what is the Royal family even about? Are we sure they aren't some kind of fake news put on for our entertainment?

Note to CCers - there is a church in England called the Church of England *yes that is it's name'* and the current monarch is its nominal or titular head/defender of it. So we kind of assume that this family ought to be Christians or at least act like them.

So the latest news about William, first born son of Charles and Diana, is he and his wife Catherine, (also formerly known as Kate) have just sent their firstborn son George (another heir) to Eton. It is a boarding school for sons of aristocrats in the UK. Both William and Harry were students there.

George is third in line to the throne after William. So he has to learn to be a King too.

Yea I think they have kippers or something like that

Plus their chips come with curry instead of dipping them in tomato sauce/ketchup and are more like loaded fries

And they have mushy peas instead of salad

If Prince George went to high school in Wellington, he'd have to have worn gumboots and carry a blunt umbrella - one that's windproof, otherwise, he'd sail away like Mary Poppins

In the UK, they call gumboots 'galoshes'

If he'd gone to high school in Auckland, he would have gone to King's College

But I suppose Eton's as good an education as any. Also, Andrew is a saint and a university in the UK. Scotland likes Saint Andrew, England likes Saint George, and Wales likes Saint David

Ireland likes Saint Patrick of course

There are no Saint Williams or Saint Harry's

I will pass on the mushy peas. I'm a salad type of guy. The curry is intriguing though.
 
Am not sure if William has ever been to India.
I know his mum did and there is that famous photo of Princess Diana sitting alone in front of the Taj Mahal. She also had a Pakistani boyfriend. (The Brits were responsible for the partition of India)
She also was friendly with Mother Teresa.

My stepdaughter has made this dish several times. Not bad really. My wife likes tends to use a lot of different spices too when she prepares a meal. Personally, I prefer a dish with just a few spices, but it is good to spice things up a bit time to time.

The secret, according to the Curry Book, or ask any Indian cook, is to grind up the spices yourself with a mortar and pestle. It releases the flavour better if it's freshly ground.

I'm afraid I don't have the time to do this and buy a ready-made sauce in a jar. Then just add it to the chicken that I've cut up into pieces and browned with some onions and garlic.

Well..I have not much to say about William except it seems he is losing a lot of his hair, possibly stressed as wife Catherine had been having cancer treatments (but she didn't lose HER hair over it) and raising 3 royal children. Raising children as royals would seem to be a huge task but I assume they'd have had nannies, maybe even one for each child.

Otherwise he doesn't make the news as much as Harry does. When he and his wife did visit NZ, all we saw were photos of them stepping off the plane in windy Wellington, and of course the wind blew up Catherine's dress/skirt and she exposed her knickers...again. Famously the first time William saw her was on a fashion show runway where she was wearing a transparent skirt as a dress, everyone could see her knickers.

Catherine (or Kate) looking lovely and fashionable attracted the press a lot more than William ever did. The one time William was in the spotlight was when he was only a toddler and was playing on the Government House lawn in Auckland, with a buzzy bee. When he went to Australia, he was given a wombat cuddly toy to play with, or maybe it was a koala? Anyway his mother then nicknamed him 'Wombat'.
 
It seems they enjoy mountain climbing, and then skiing back down. I know that they visited Cardrona ( a ski range in near adventure capital of NZ - Queenstown) as the Cardrona Hotel boasted of their Royal patronage. Both of them appear very sporty but it was Harry that started the Invictus Games which is where was veterans can play after they've recovered from injuries, or even lost a limb. From the landmines maybe...that their mother tried to eradicate.

William was a rescue helicopter pilot but I don't know if he does much flying these days. Otherwise his official job is now a SAPD - Stay at Palace Dad.

See British food is actually very bland. They can't grow many spices in their own country (too cold) so they have to steal buy them from elsewhere.
There is a whole reason why the Spice Girls were very popular in the UK.

Aside from salt, pepper, and maybe mustard, there isn't much spice to choose from in England.

The UK should then import various spices. Probably most of the US spices are imported. I don't care for really bland food.

Well they did and took over entire countries and enslaved them to do so.
They still can't grow their own though.
They didn't exactly export anything useful back to those countries they took from. At least, nothing they wanted or asked for.

Little Prince William played with a bee.

I dont' think anyone in NZ ever forgot it.

Wonder what his bee-keeping skill are like, if he's got any.

Meghan did actually show people how to collect honey on her Netflix series. William hasn't shown anybody how to do anything that I recall.
