I usually go back as far as NES, but I have played Atrai games. Yes Oot was and is definitely one of my favorite games. I grew with Sonic, Zelda, Mario etc. I have a growing collection of games. Rn I hope to hunt down a copy of Parasite Eve for PS1. Thank you! GOD BLESS You too ☺️ Are you looking forward to the OOT remake?
Happy to see you back, bro. How is the book coming along that you were writing. I did read the excerpts that you provided. Interesting read for sure. I believe that you were developing a game too. Good artistic renderings for sure. Missed you, bro.

Hey! How have you been? It's coming along good. And my art has improved a lot! I switched to digital three years back!

I am doing fine. Semi-retired, work 3 or 4 days a week at the local McDonald's. You have a real talent for art and writing that's for sure. Glad to hear that things are going well with you. Don't be a stranger. :)

Nice! That's awesome that you are semi retired. Must have been a big shift. I recently got a second job but I'm hoping to get more hours.

yea... 16 hours straight is a tad...excessive.

This is the hold out on video games -- they should come with warnings...not that they don't already, but the warnings that this game could be addictive.

The mobile game that was most popular to start with was Angry Birds. I'm sure people still play it.

I never played Farmville or heard of Zombie Farm, but I did read the Plant vs Zombie books, they are pretty funny. BRAINSSS
Yes you're so right but to be fair I would often work 16 or even 24 hours straight anyways as a snow plow mechanic in the winter. So when I was Streaming/gaming I was also making a significant income - more than a regular job would for 16 hours (although not as much as working at the shop) so again, it was how I "justified" it .

I really appreciate the warning though and especially young people need to be better protected from the high addictive cycles of gaming. Especially modern mobile games with micro transactions which imo should be illegal.

Also consider that all kinds of things are addictive and bad for people: sugar, social media, screen time in general, negative thought patterns etc so I generally don't worry - unless I know something is specifically Biblically forbidden - which is what Jesus told us not to do - since I know any and all enjoyment I get from whatever source is, like myself, covered by the blood and I am free to enjoy this life with you and our family in Christ that God has made for us!!

Am playing HKIA on the iphone

I used to have Simpsons game on ipad (you can build up Springfield, you are Homer, and do Homer-y things).
My little cousin tried to get me on Frozen, the Disney game of the movie. Or was it something else. It was a lot of minecart rides. I remember having to race to win/chase coins on the Great Wall of China. But like Sonic the Hedgehog, those games kind of made me dizzy, plus you could tip the ipad so you would roll around more.

My book of cozy games I've borrowed lists a lot of free ones, so I might take another look, but I can only play one game at a time.
Cats and Soup is one that stood out for me.

I think my ipad would be too old to download the latest games now.

A lot of build-your-own games are just based on the original Sim City. Also does anyone remember Where in the World is Carmen San Diego ? Sort of like a Where's Wally video game. I don't know if there is an actual Where's Wally video game. Sure it would make your eyes hurt if there was one.

Word games - Wordle was popular, and my sister used to play 'Words with Friends' which was basically Scrabble on the phone. There are probably other games based on board games you could play, but I'm not a fan of Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit lol.

I think there is one you can play with friends and it's kind of like Charades but with ipad/tablet. The games on mobile devices let you interact with others and you can play them anywhere that has wifi. i.e not stuck sitting or stuck to a desk. I'm sure people do play video games in offices when they are pretending to work lol.

In one library, I had a PC, but I never sat to work on it, just stood as it was on a high workbench. Also it would be out of reach from for the smaller children. The only game I permitted children to play on PC was one I controlled, which was Kahoot, the free version, where I'd make trivia quizzes. The teacher would get the children chromebooks, and they'd play in teams. You had to make up your own team name, of course, they always made up silly ones! I would cast the game to the tv monitor the library had on the wall.
Omgosh yes I do remember Where in the World is Carmen San Diego!! I used to be into a bunch of those type of games.

Kahoot and making games specifically for the children is so sweet and wonderful, I definitely think children need a high level of control and guidance with video games and other non-productive recreation pursuits.

I would love to play some Wordle or board games with you sometime if you're ever interested!

Here's my collection! Might need a bigger shelf lol.View attachment 295857
That's so cool!! I used to have some physical systems but I'm all PC now and I'm a real cheapstake when it comes to gaming - I won't pay more than $20CAD for a finished AAA game and for example for my birthday I got $200 on steam but I only spent $80 on roughly 18 games.

Hit me up if you're ever looking for deals online, I don't do the steam keys and all that but I am geologically patient and have a great nose for finding hidden deals and sales.

But boy does that collection look amazing, thank you for sharing and clearly you're very passionate about it which I can really appreciate. Would love to game with you sometime!!

I didn't even know there was a remake till you told me! I'm looking forward to it now, but I probably won't play it till 2030 or later. Generally I'll give a "new" game 2-5 years before I start checking it out so you actually clued me in super early for the OoT remake tyty brother!!

Well my eyes are fried...

no its ok, HKIA is pretty good although I don't know about 'micro transactions' is this like games that steal your money the more you play them or hover over some hidden icon or something.

I have been making sodas, cakes, pizzas, coffees and icecream on Hello Kitty as there are spots around the island you can use the ovens/machines so...I guess I'm all set for imaginary cooking video games.

Hello Kitty doesn't play Scrabble though, it does have puzzles in one of the caves, you do have to move some boxes around and unlock codes to open stairways/doors.

I have just been on a minecart collecting fizzy ores to crush and make fizzy soda crystals to make the soda...and have to collect fruits and things. I didn't realise Hello Kitty Island would be sooo much work. When do I get to relax on the beach?? lol It has me running around on quests all day, finding treasures.

Where does that happen in real life. Well actually I do go on quests...shopping quests but not quite as cute as Hello Kitty's. The furniture and clothing is too kawaii. I had a sense of meta as Kuromi and Mymelody gave each me stuffies of themselves.

I'd just bought a real one the day before. They call them 'stuffies' I thought they were called 'plushies' ...I always called them 'cuddly toys' or 'soft toys' --cuddlies? softies?

I feel like all those names can apply xD!!

Have so much fun playing Hello Kitty and enjoy all your fizzy sodas!! What kind of Plushie did you buy irl?

One of the great disappointments of my life was that parasite Eve was not released on pc. If ever a game needed a remake....

Considering all the retconning they did with the recent FF7 travesty? You want them to mess up ANOTHER FF game?

I still think we're going to find out that the entire FF7 remake is all Aeris floating in the spirit energy where they left her when she died. She didn't really die and she has been trying to reconstruct her life with the spirit energy she is floating in, but she can't keep the original storyline clear.

What is it with all the horror genre video games? I never quite got the fascination with those.

I used to read Vampire Chronicles, but when all these other vampire books came out, I just thought they were knock offs of the original Anne Rice novels , which was based on the OG original Dracula by Bram Stoker.

I don't know if an actual game has been made of vampires, but the zombies theme seems to have been popular. Is it because in many video games, you have to fight things that never die. Or sometimes they 'kill' you, but then you just start over again, like an eternal Groundhog day. Cats may have 9 lives but it seems you can have infinite lives on a video game!

the only way out is if you have a Deus ex machina like someone pours water on your device so you can't play it anymore.

One of the teachers at school I worked in said her son was so into video games that it was getting to be a real problem, so she ran over his device with her car and that was the end of that. lol

Imagine being the adult to buy a device for your child, not monitor their time on it then completely throw that money down the drain by destroying the device YOU bought for THEM hahahahaha

Not the way to parent at all and what a waste of money!
