Depends on what happens. Even if someone is completely off the grid and self-sufficient they can still become collateral damage. I guess if someone has a hidden underground bunker with supplies to last a couple hundred years they might be unaffected. I agree, a global event would be a good time for believers to step up with the gospel; but it would be kinda hard to do that hidden in an underground bunker.
However since it is AI here, so AI will preserve the grid as it relies on electricity, never forget that. Also with AI there will be new opportunities, same as happened with other trends like the industrilization, which te christian around 1850 warned about. And at that time virtually city job were destroyed such as the smith was unable to produce 5 Nails per Day as the Nail of industry were much cheaper.

AI with computers started in 1956 as with Turing work tirled "Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence". However when you look closer on AI it works to mimic learning with natural language. So when you learn a foreign language you start many attempts in your brain from which is one that makes most sense is choosen. That is the same with AI where you have the seefing and the random information output followed by a phase where a detewrmination is made against the many posibilities. The only thing that has changed is the power of computing, where AI can nowadays be used by normal people 30 years ago I only worked on classified projects in AI. Just check Google AI or similar and it will prove that this is true. Just remember Ecclesiastes 4, where it says:
Completely agree, there is only one God to trust, AI is a false god, such as money or power

Sorry but in the work in 1956 there is something mentioned called Recursive self-improvement which is an autonomous self learning software. It was all primitive compared with today, but AI did not just start some years ago, actually I have not really seen anything new in the software engineering since 1972 when OO came with Smalltalk (and yes at the time it was all on Mainframes)
