It's a funny thing.
I've been listening to several videos about people who are in despair because their TikTok and YouTube channels aren't bringing in the money they were either used to, or expecting them to.
It's interesting listening to strangers yelling online yelling about not being given "their money", or the money they believe they deserver for putting themselves online.
They are talking about how the platform requirements and restrictions are always changing, now making it much harder to rake in the dough.
Now there are some channels and influencers I really enjoy -- I think they bring highly educational and useful content, and I try to donate to a few of my favorites.
But I heard one person who seemed to sum it up well, that these platforms were originally intended as a way for people to share things like silly dances, not a guaranteed cash cow.
It seems unfortunate that swarms of people then thought they could turn it into a living -- and even more unfortunate that they thought it would last forever.

I think one of them...Kim maybe, was friends with Paris Hilton. Paris was 'famous for being famous' and known as an IT girl. She was pretty and was always being photographed. She is actually an heiress to the Hilton hotel fortune. She also had her on tv show called The Simple Life. With friend Nicole Richie (daughter of Lionel). I only know all this because she was everywhere in the early 2000s.
She wasn't on social media though, this was way before social media took off. It was more 'reality tv'. Though I think Paris and Kim when smartphones/iphones became popular, started posting selfies all the time on their accounts, and because they were pretty with model good looks and could afford the latest fashions and they got even more business come their way with sponsoring fashion and beauty brands etc.

Paris was always wearing pink, had blonde hair extensions and was skinny like Barbie doll. She didn't have a big bust (that was Dolly Parton) but she was always posing for pics.
Paris in recent years published a memoir, which I haven't read, but I read summary and heard that she suffered ADHD and being like a Barbie doll was something she created as a brand. She wanted to earn her own fortune instead of being known as a Nepo baby. She did play on her wealthy heiress status though and said she cultivated being seen as an airhead. (or bimbo) People were either jealous of her, sick of her constant exposure (famous for a sex tape) or just loved to hate on her but she did make things like carrying little dogs that could fit in her handbag, or juicy couture brand velour trackpants. She made things look cool and I suppose 'fast fashion' take off.
But a lot of people actually only liked her because she did have a lot of money, and people are always hanging off rich people with an attractive lifestyle, it's aspirational for them.
She had her own cooking show on Netflix...

He'll be that guy who asks what you'll do for a ton of money, which he has. And then he'll propose you do something really out there for the cash.
Keep your money pal. You can only buy someone's dignity if they're that desperate. Which he counts on.

What Mr.Beast does is controversial and to the point it has been labeled by some,and I agree, as , poverty porn.
I did a Google AI search to find the most comprehensive results for the search terms: mr.beast makes people do degrading things for money.
Of course technically he can't necessarily make the public do anything.

There are a few I've become familiar with in their comment sections. A few even mentioned my comments in their videos so that was kind of neat.

Yes. I never watched any of his videos but for awhile his videos kept showing up all over youtube.

Do you have your own channel as well? Or do you post comments using your seoulsearch avatar or under your own name? I don't think I've ever posted a comment on you-tube as there are so many already and I don't know who reads them, its not like having a conversation.
I do have playlists of favourite videos, I use it for karaoke/song lyrics. I just need to know the words to songs.
I think the most I've ever followed a single creator (although they haven't really 'created' anything,) on you-tube was the person/people who made Honest Trailers. The channel is Screen Junkies. But I didn't watch all of them just the ones of the movies I've seen. I can't say they are an influencer or have influenced me.
When I heard about this thing called 'tradwife' it was not something that was on you-tube, I think it was on Tik Tok or instagram. I don't have accounts with them. Reddit is another platform where people may have opinions, but I never posted anything on there. I think Reddit can be a trap because you could 'doomscroll' as its called people in a kind of echo chamber and it never ever ends.

You can definitely find influencers for any topic and genre -- whether good or bad.
I don't follow any channels that specifically promote themselves as Christian Influencers, but I do follow several influencers covering various topics who are Christians.
For example, the stay-at-home mom I exchanged paper letters with is a Christian and talks about how challenging it can be for her to keep up with her regular Bible studies; several finance YouTubers I follow regularly include Scriptures and the Gospel in their videos; and an ASMR artist I listen has both creative imagination videos (set in "ancient Egypt," different decades, and even outer space!) and others in which she whispers readings from the Bible to help listeners relax and take in God's Word at the same time.
I don't know anything about Xbox, so I can't speak on that.
But if you Google the origin of Discord, it will tell you that it was originally a gamers-only social media platform that eventually became an "all-purpose community platform."
The founder originally wanted to create a space where "discord" (disagreements) in the gaming community could be discussed. He found the name to be short, available, easy to spell, and both the website and domain name, at the time, were free to trademark.
I have also read that the name "Discord" kind of gave off a "rebel's edge" feeling that can be part of the atmosphere in the gaming community.
Despite the original intentions, Discord is now a free communication app for everyone.
I only went there because several YouTubers I follow have their own Discord groups and communities where you can chat with them and other people interested in the same topics.
I don't have my own channel, though if you sign up for an account on YouTube it sets up your account so that you can have one if you want.
I only watch/listen to YouTube and I like giving feedback to the creators there. For instance, in the finance space, it's often believed the only participants are white males -- but I like to say hey, you're helping a lot of people with your content, including us female minorities!
I have a username there and just post under that. Smaller content creators are usually the most excited and appreciate of their viewers (in my experience, at least,) and will often write replies to people in the comment section. Some give out Discord, email, or other social media info and so I've written to a few whom I felt a vibe with.
One was even kind enough to speak to me for a few hours on the phone over some finance questions I had.
This was a couple years ago -- I think we voice talked through Discord? I can't remember.
But whatever app we used, it allowed us to speak to each other without revealing either person's phone number, maintaining both our privacy.

Probably @Jacobfaith is on it? Wouldn't there be Christians on that site or part of that community as well, so if he started a thread on it asking 'Any Christians Here?' only gamers would answer and then he'd find his own tribe.
