Hi everyone, my name is Figo and I'm from Libya. I was introduced to Christianity 8 years ago by Christian missionaries. I learnt a lot about Christianity and I have many experiences that I can describe as God's tangible presence and divine synchronicities that made me feel that god is very close to me. I litirally experienced the fruits of the spirit where I mostly felt an alignment and everything was in place. I reached the point where I confessed that jesus is my lord and saviour. But I'm going through uncertainty. My Muslim background is part of the reason and the fear of hell is preventing me from fully surrender to jesus. I'm in a crossroads and I pray that someday I can confidently say that I'm Christian and even share my story of salvation to others. Right now I'm trying to find my way to raise my faith in christ and not let my overthinking overwhelm me.

There's nothing wrong with asking questions.
I went to lots of different churches from various denominations. One day someone asked if I were to die today, if I was sure if I would go to heaven?

He cared enough to take time to explain clearly and simply from the Bible. However, I heard many opinions so was sceptical. I asked God to help me to know His opinion, the truth because I was weary of man's opinions.

the devil doesn't want you to leave the muslim belief. that's the cause of your uncertainty. Christianity is the only belief where you don't have to do anything to get anything, its the only belief where all offered by God is free & the only belief that has a God who is alive! become a born again Christian right now & your problems with this are over!!! ask Jesus to come into your heart, mind, soul, spirit & conscious. proclaim Jesus Christ as your savior & you will be convicted, converted, transformed & regenerated to Jesus.

That's interesting. If you don't mind me asking, why/how is the "fear of Hell" preventing you from fully surrendering your life to the Lord Jesus Christ

The one thing I want to point out to you to help you is this: the Apostle Paul says that "ANYONE - be they human or angel, that teaches you a different gospel than what I have taught you is under a curse."

Who taught Mohammed the Quran? The ANGEL Gabriel. What kind of Angel is cursed? Only one kind my friend: a demon.

Islam is one of the heads of the dragon and is a religion of war, violence, abuse against women and general evil. Turn from this false, Satanic faith as soon as you can. Only Christ matters and even if you suffer for it, your belief in Jesus is the only thing that matters. Christians in the middle east are the bravest of our brothers and sisters because ISIS will literally burn you alive for being Christian. Nevermind all the ways Christians are abused and marginalized in Muslim countries.

I encourage you in all ways to abandon Mohamed the Pedophile Warlord and the Devil whom he worships. Turn your whole life to Christ no matter the cost. May the Father send the Holy Spirit in power to comfort, strengthen and lead you towards Jesus. My dear brother in Christ, if your salvation depended on you, you would be right to worry. It does not depend on you. Jesus has done everything that you need in order to have eternal life. If you have accepted Him, as it seems that you have, then you are saved.

In order to increase our faith and silence doubts, we need to know God's word. There is the enemy of our souls who is the liar and deceiver. His first words to Adam and Eve were "Has God said..........?" casting doubt on God's integrity and motives. The devil will try that on you also.

Jesus was also tempted by the devil. But Jesus answered him with God's word. And the devil left defeated. My advice to you is to study the book of Ephesians. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes so that you can see the truth. Then stand on the truth no matter what.

The truth is like an oasis in the desert. All around may be desolate and dead. If you stay in the oasis, you will have food and water and you will live.

Faith is not a feeling. It is simply trusting God whatever you think or feel. God knows your struggle. He asks you to trust Him fully. God cannot lie. His word is truth. He loves you enough to send Jesus to die for you. You can trust someone willing to love you that much.

Who took the form of a human to offer himself as a living sacrifice for us? Any Hindu gods, Muhammad, Buddhist god or monk or any god of any other religion? None but Jesus. What profound love!

Which god sacrificed his son on the altar for wretched souls like us? Only God the Father. Has any other god loved us and loved us like this?

Jesus came to give us eternal life not hell. Rejecting Him for anyone or anything else guarantees hell.

Despite knowing this, I had failed at one point. I was concerned about how my family and friends would feel or think. I had made excuses instead of standing up for Jesus and saying,"I am a Christian and cannot go to mandirs or eat food offered to idols." But God! He helped me.

I would like to encourage you to ask Jesus to help you. He answers every sincere prayer. If you have sincerely accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you belong to Him and He has you in the Palm of His Hand. Now like every other Born-Again Christian, you have to fight. True Christanity is a constant battle against the devil. Your mind is the battle ground where you are fighting those thoughts, but you have help. It is James 4:7. You can't win in your own strength or by your own efforts alone.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Step 1: Ask Jesus to help you and to remove those thoughts (Submitting to Him)

Step 2: Yield the Sword (Meditate on, confess, and proclaim Scriptures)

With your submission and resistance with the Word, the devil will have to flee from you. Be persistent and consistent. I am sharing this from my own experience. I was taught this by my pastor when I was in a battle with overwhelming thoughts. I was mentally and physically exhausted, but I experienced a breakthrough when I implemented James 4:7. Praise Jesus!!!

Also, sharing the testimony of my mentor, an ex-Hindu herself. A powerful testimony that has been a blessing to many.

In the day of judgment, if Christianity is false and is considered shirk or polythenism then I'll be in hell for eternity. It's either heaven or hell. I think the idea of salvation is too good to be true but I'm still struggling with the deity of Christ. He prayed to god, experienced hunger, didn't know the hour, and most importantly never preached the trinity clearly in the bible.
I'm Still having many arguments that caused a mind battle in my head. I wish to really reach the point of not looking back and I always pray that God reveals himself to me and answers my uncertainty with conviction.

Brother, listen: none of your fears mean you’re on the wrong path — they mean you’re thinking, and Jesus never rebukes honest seekers. Every doubt you listed is already answered in Scripture itself.
Jesus prayed because He became flesh (Heb 2:14).
He hungered because He took our nature (Matt 4:2).
He didn’t know the hour because the Father had not revealed it (Matt 24:36).
None of those things deny His deity — they prove His incarnation.
And the Trinity isn’t preached as a slogan; it’s shown:
the Father speaks from heaven,
the Spirit descends, and
the Son stands in the water (Matt 3:16–17).
Jesus receives worship (Matt 28:17),
receives prayer (Acts 7:59),
forgives sins (Mark 2:5–7),
commands angels (Matt 13:41), and
is called God (John 1:1; John 20:28).
That is not “shirk.” That is the God of Scripture revealing Himself.

Your fear of “what if Christianity is false” is answered by Jesus Himself: “Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37). Your fear of uncertainty is answered by James: ask God for wisdom and He will give it (James 1:5).
Your fear of deception is answered by Jesus: “My sheep hear My voice.” (John 10:27).
The battle in your mind is not a sign of damnation — it is the normal struggle of someone being drawn into truth.
Keep seeking Christ. He promised that those who seek will find (Matt 7:7). And He has never lied.
