If I may: in the US the people are the sovereign. They are permitted to choose leaders who represent them. Without support from Evangelicals, Roman Catholics, and many other church congregations, Trump would not be president. More over, they continued to support him even after he was exposed as a serial philanderer & liar, admitting he never asks God for forgiveness and bragging about sexually assaulting women - a privilege of his power. The word of the Lord has come to the sovereign of the US, but the people refused to repent - doubling down on their support by electing Trump for a second term.

I first saw this pattern of blindness with the nomination of Mitt Romney - a man who was a leader in a religion Christians knew was a cult: Mormonism. But they allowed themselves to support "some evil" in a bid to prevent the greater evil (Obama) from winning the election.

I know the US church thinks general elections are the superior means by which leaders are chosen. But their greatest usefulness is to reveal the hearts of people who claim to love and trust the Truth.
Thank you for your thoughts.
I personally think God is sovereign, not the people.
People have opinions, actions, ultimately history is in God's hand.

Agree with you, churches opinion is important. It is not merely battle of flesh , but ultimately spiritual battle.

If people only knew the reality of the man who is in office, it is completely baffling how people still think he was appointed by God.

And now the whole world is about to pay the price, that is what I see, war and all that comes with it.

The lesser of two evils is a lame argument, IMHO!
Well, there is precedent in the OT:

‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.’

However, in no other time in history has the will of the people who claim to "be for God" more clearly shown. Voting was a set-up to expose the double-minded.

Of course God is sovereign over all.

But the law of the US declares that the people are sovereign over their country. That's why I began the sentence with "In the US..."

People can claim whatever they want.
Their lips worship God, but their heart can be far away from God.

Interesting, but yes I can see that.

There's a difference between the general election and the primary in America.

Also,I don't think someone who states they are not Christian has any credibility whatsoever in presuming what the U.S church thinks.

You should look at my profile posts.

Your refusal to be corrected has no bearing on the spiritual efficacy of your traditions, or lack there of. You sound like most people who separate their lives into "secular" and "spiritual" categories (a tradition of the Roman church) so they might excuse their less-than-holy behavior. Your posture is very common. Some might say it is a wide path that many walk.

Oh, understand.
The reality might not match what's written in paper.
The document that established the U.S. begins "We, the people...". On the jump, we are given by whom and for whom the document was commissioned and by whose authority the actions in the document are secured.

Your identity ,Not Christian, speaks first .
Your refusal to be corrected
You have a pattern of saying that to people who disagree with you.
When you first admit you are not in Christ, you can never correct or judge those who are.

God tells us this.
The Bible,God's word, was not made for unbelievers.

Which is why your hubris fails when you think you can debate those in Christ without Christ within you.

And there is your own evidence that reaffirms,as you said if yourself. You are not Christian

You sound like a non Christian, as you admit of yourself, trying to insult Christians.
You cannot fake it. Though you fail repeatedly in trying.

You're here to cast aspersions. Thinking that agenda is cloaked by your failed religious verbiage

You're, "Not Christian".

Believers were “called” Christians in Antioch. The word was Only used by Peter and by Luke in Acts. Even then, Luke was recounting the use of ”Christian” in a conversation by an unbeliever. In Roman tradition, followers of philosophers were named after their masters. In the NT, the church are called "believers", "sons of God", "children of God", "saints", "my children", etc. The word "Christian" embodies a Roman philosophical tradition. We are more than followers of wise teachings. We are children of God in Christ.

It wasn’t until the 2nd century that the church, fully ensconced in Rome, began using the term to label themselves.

"Sons of God" is an identity that signifies our lineage, standard, and birthright. We are made sons IN Christ. We are not merely “followers of Christ” or “little Christs” according to the tradition of pagan philosophers. Christ is One, a many-membered being, of whom we are part. We are His body: the flesh and bones of the only Begotten of the Father.

So, to my point, it wouldn't do for me to believe one thing and then act in a way that is inconsistent with that belief. Like someone saying "We love truth and justice" but then voting for a man who who bragged about assaulting women and getting away with it because of his power an influence.

Interesting thoughts.
Trumps 1st term in my opinion was better.
2nd time around a few major issues, Iran war drag America to be slaves for Israel, Epstein.

In the US, it's government "of the people, by the people, for the people," as Abraham Lincoln said. Christian nationalism would love to get rid of that. It teaches the mistaken idea that democracy, or the will of the people, has replaced God. Nothing could be further from the truth. Democracy gives the people freedom to worship and serve God as they see fit. Take that away and you end up with someone at the top telling the people who they have to worship and how they can worship.

Sure, freedom gives people the right to worship and serve false gods or no god; but take freedom away and pretty soon it'll be taken away from Christians too.

Was it government of the people when 9 people on the Supreme court made a law legalizing abortion nationwide?

It took 50 years but finally the Supreme court admitted that was a bogus ruling.

You reap what you sow, and right now the US is reaping what they have sown. I don't support Christian Nationalism, but people have been deceived, they thought they could mock God.

Claiming that "freedom gives people the right to worship and serve false gods" ignores the fact there was no freedom of religion. The states did not get to vote on whether or not they wanted child sacrifice. The Supreme court made child sacrifice the national religion. They have stored up wrath for the day of wrath. It has been 50 years. Covid was simply a shot across the bow, killing approximately the same number of people that abortion did in the first couple of years it was legalized as a 50 year Jubilee celebration. The jubilee returns what was taken to those that had owned it. It is restoration for those that lost it, and it is time to pay up for those that took it.

50 years ago in 1976 the Hyde amendment passed arguing that it was unconstitutional for US taxpayers to have to pay for an abortion. NY filed an injunction and stopped that law from taking effect for months as they fought over who should pay for abortion. Well the jubilee is here and it is time for those who should pay to pay up.

Yeah. What they want to do is install THEIR version of God as the sovereign.
