Why does everyone keep saying 'last days' as if everyone is going to die tomorrow. It's really off putting.

I'd like to think I have at least a year or a couple of months left to live.
Unfortunately this kind of thinking is not helpful and @2ndTimeIsTheCharm is correct: we are to live and act and love as if it were the end times.

Our plans don't matter, only the Lord matters so as much as I understand why you would want months or years, you need to put that Wordly thinking behind you and prepare for His coming.

We must be ready at all times for when the Lord arrives, if you are sleeping it will be too late.

If someone cheats on you that is their baseline desire and they gave into it. That means they are fully capable of giving into it again - regardless of remorse or promises to change - their base character is compromised and they will always be capable of infidelity.
Hmm... Interesting phrasing.

From what I have observed all humans are compromised - born in sin and shapen in iniquity and all that - and anybody is fully capable of giving in to it at any time.

Some do, some don't, some do for a while and then learn better... And some don't for a long time, and then suddenly take a step over the edge. People change all the time.

"Humans do not rise to the occasion, they fall to the level of their training." If they have, they will again. Simple - the capability is established and set in stone.

Millions and millions of people go their entire life without cheating on their spouses

I never saw the thread everyone was talking about or don't remember it and I did get creeped out by what was said.

I don't feel ashamed for reacting the way I did since he just started talking about excised tissue out of seemingly nowhere.

Please link the thread you're referencing, next time. 🫣

No offense intended. It's in the bible - once you read the story, its not readily forgotten! 😳 Certainly no shame in being disgusted if you didn't realise the reference (or even if you did!) The humour was in one guy making reference to the story, and two others being grossed out (one to the point of banning!) because they didn't realise the reference, and thought the first guy must have a really weird hobby or something... (Lol.) Kinda like King Saul... 🤔

Last days is actually good because it means Jesus is coming soon.

Most of my life I dreamt of getting married, having 3 children, living in a nice house with a picket fence. It didn't have to be a big house, just an average house. When I was younger I always adored women and "put them on a pedestal" and thought being a nice guy was the way to a woman's heart. I was very naive.

Anyway I used to try to interest myself in things women were interested in. I read women's magazines like Redbook, Reader's Digest, Good Housekeeping (this was a long time ago). Later I watched Martha Stewart and liked browsing through her magazine and used to watch Oprah in the 90s when she was at the height of her popularity, before she got into all the new age and 'spirituality' stuff with Eckhart Toll and Deepak Chopra.

I loved Dr. Phil on Oprah. His current show is more like Jerry Springer so I don't watch it. I also watched Rachel Ray when she was doing her travel show "$40 a Day'" before being on Oprah. And I watched cooking shows on Food Network. I even watched some makeup videos by Michelle Phan. One time I said on here that I think that I think like a woman and everyone thought it was a joke.

On top of that I've learned how to fix things, cook a few dishes, play various instruments, sing, I can even fix a Keurig!

Did I mention I also like Korean Dramas? :geek:Come on now, how many guys like Korean dramas?

All that to prepare for a future wife that never came. 😼

It sounds a whole lot like you're saying if somebody has messed up then he will never do better, he will always keep messing up and you might as well write him off as a failure forever.

I'm reading it wrong though. Right? I am mistaken in what I thought you said, right?

This is specifically about the capability and accountability regarding adultery - not whether that person can improve or their resulting forgiveness. If someone commits theft or murder or messes up criminally they are punished criminally and to the degree of the crime.

So if someone messes up morally they are punished accordingly and part of that can and should be individual social isolation - the aggrieved party blocking all contact and moving on.

Consider that adultery was considered grave enough for stoning which is a very bad way to die and although the Lord Himself said he without sin cast the first stone, I'm also not saying to stone anyone. I just mean that trust is earned and can be permanently broken.

According to the Bible, he should forgive her (and I think he has), but he doesn't have to stay married to her because she committed adultery. That is his option.

You've never been married and cheated on. So you're really not in the position to understand what he's going through, You just have the book knowledge and not the experience.

oh ok

Then why this thread? Its not a preppers thread. @2ndTimeIsTheCharm was talking about getting MARRIED. Is that the 'end times'

Oh great. So if you are not married then you aren't living in the 'end times'? Marriage is the end of your life?

I myself am not looking to get married but I want to encourage those who are. I say that you make God the center of your life, and He will get involved in helping you find the right one to marry you and watch over your marriage to keep it full of love and romance and togetherness.

Here is an amazing wedding procession where the bride sings to God and her groom. The song is about how God will watch over your marriage (if you let Him). It is a beautiful wedding walk. A lot of people were moved to tears - even the men - the groom was crying his eyes out!

"HE KNOWS"

An original wedding song performed by Almira Lat Trinidad

In what ways are you preparing to be the spouse God wants you to be and for your future spouse? Let's talk and give each other tips and encouragement!

Did @2ndTimeIsTheCharm mention 'the end times' in her OP?

Should the 'end times' actually be...preparing for your divorce?
Isn't marriage meant to be 'the beginning times'?

It doesn't follow logically what anyone says about 'the end times'.

Also BTW Lynx has mentioned how his parents divorced and thats his experience of marriage. Not everyone's parents had a happy marriage or stayed faithful to each other and adultery or abuse doesn't mean we are called to bondage.

Does the Bible say you should divorce if it's the end times?

Then he should understand @StoneLion's situation. Why is he acting like he doesn't understand???

Why does the end times make you so uncomfortable? If you understand it, you won't be afraid of it.

There's no such thing as the 'end times' as you understand it.

Because your understanding makes no sense.

When you die, its the end time for your body,/flesh but it's the beginnng of eternity for your spiritual life.

The marriage Jesus was talking about was Israel being married to the land God had promised them all along.

He made an eternal covenant. Don't people remember this in the Bible. His chosen broke it though time and again. God was patient, He knew they'd come round and repent but He had to send Jesus to do so, to warn them and show them what it meant in terms of spiritual life and entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven.

What the Bible/God asks us to do is keep the faith, and doing the good works He prepared for us to do. Nothing more, nothing less.

All that seems about right.

Very different from how you phrased it earlier though. Sounded a lot like you were saying people who messed up can never change.

Here

"You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; For the LORD delights in you, And your land shall be married." — (Isaiah 62:4 NKJV) [1]

Key Meanings
    • Hephzibah: A Hebrew name meaning "My delight is in her".
    • Beulah: A Hebrew word meaning "married".
    • The Land Married: It signifies that the physical land of Israel will no longer lie wasted, abandoned, or cursed. Instead, it will be intimately cared for, owned, blessed, and protected by God, reflecting a joyful reunion akin to a bridegroom rejoicing over a bride. [1, 2, 3, 4]

You, in this sense, is Judah i.e Jewish people. Remember house of Israel and house of Judah - the Kingdoms had split into two. They had divorced!

Basically the Kingdoms had committed adultery with other gods, instead of staying faithful to God Almighty.

Anyway people are seemingly mixing up earthly marriage with Biblical marriage which was as God described in his covenant, which was essentially signed in BLOOD and eternal. Sacrifice is needed.

I don't know if singing to God is the worship he requires certainly churches practice this often enough, but its true in religious ceremonial weddings there is often music. You won't get that in a courthouse 'wedding'.
