Who is/will be the Antichrist?
Ive listened to Joel Richardson The Islamic Antichrist. Currently Im listening to Tim Cohen and Joy Jeffreys who cite King Charles or Prince William as the Antichrist who will be Possessed by Satan for 3.5 Years. Their Coats of Arms illustrate the Red Dragon, Pale Horse and Lion with Bears Claws assigned to the Antichrist in the Bible.

I tried for a long time to figure it out; some theories are pretty interesting, but in the long run I decided it doesn't matter. The important thing is to simply know he'll show up one day. If I'm around when that happens I won't get fooled by whoever it is.

I have no idea, but I remember many years ago when Walid Shoebat (former Jihadist turned Christian) made an impression on me with some of his thoughts on the matter. I'm just now realizing that he co-authored a book with Joel Richardson based on my search on A.I. to deliver a list of beliefs that Walid has on the matter:

Walid's first book, "Why I Left Jihad: The Root of Terrorism and the Rise of Islam" (2005). His second book is co-authored with Joel Richardson on, "God's War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy, and the Bible" (2008)

Here are some of his views quickly gathered together on Walid Shoebat's views according to A.I.:

Core Thesis

Shoebat's central claim is that the Islamic Mahdi (ad-Dajjal) is identical to the Biblical Antichrist. He writes:

"The Mahdi is to Muslims as Christ is to Christians — He is their awaited savior… What Muslims do not realize is that they are awaiting Antichrist."

He states this was a personal revelation: growing up Muslim, he learned about the Mahdi, then read the Bible and found "a character identical to my Mahdi… but rather called 'the Antichrist.'"

Geographic & Political Specifics

  • Turkey is "the Antichrist nation." He provides what he calls "seven scriptural proofs" for this, drawing on Daniel and Ezekiel.
  • The Antichrist will emerge from the Middle East, not Europe. He explicitly rejects the traditional "revived Roman Empire / European Union" framework, calling it a Western bias.
  • He identifies the Antichrist's domain as an "Islamic Union" led by Turkey, with the Antichrist serving as "guardian of Libya, Persia, and Somalia/Sudan (Cush)."
  • He strongly implies Erdogan is the Antichrist, making comparisons between Erdogan and the scriptural figure of Gog, though he stops short of naming him outright.
  • The Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38–39) is, in his view, the same event as Armageddon, occurring at the end of the Tribulation.
  • Psalm 83 describes a final war between forces led by Jesus and those led by the Mahdi.
  • Seven nations will rise up to destroy the Antichrist; he suggests the United States will be among them and will be "victorious in the fight against the Antichrist."

Theological & Doctrinal Arguments

  • Denial of the Trinity: A key identifier of the Antichrist is the denial of the Father and the Son — which Islam does, making it a fit.
  • Mark of the Beast: He connects the Mark to Islamic economic and social systems, arguing that the only people "not allowed to buy or sell" are Christians who reject the Antichrist's system.
  • Mystery Babylon / "Mother of Harlots": He argues the biblical Babylon is in Arabia, not Iraq (citing Isaiah 21, Jeremiah 49 — Kedar, Dumah, Arabia), and that the "harlots" are the various false religions that Islam absorbs.
  • Gog and the "god of fortresses": Citing Daniel 11:38, he argues the Antichrist will honor a "god of fortresses (war)," which he identifies as Islam.
  • The Antichrist makes peace with Israel, mirroring the Mahdi's prophesied role in Islamic eschatology.

If you study and know the genuine you won't be fooled by the counterfeit. Personally, I keep tabs on world politics because it interests me. I view it through a template of divine wisdom, seeing how certain decisions appeal to the pride of life among the people. So it's not that I ignore the counterfeit I simply don't study it. Fakes are easy to spot when you 1) know the One who is The Truth and 2) know how the enemy works to capture the hearts and minds of people.

In the Reformation days everyone no matter what the church knew who it was. They disagreed on many doctrines but where all united in the belief of who the Man of Sin was. Before the reformation, even early Popes knew it was referring to the succession of Popes and that one day the Popes would become apostate.

Today we have her children also, those churches that came out of the Roman system that kept many of her apostasy's, they might not kill the saints anymore like the Roman Church did in the past, but they all want union with the Roman Church.

Yeah, good example. Given the time frame of the return of the Mahdi and his behavior it became clear that their "Savior" was actually the prophesied AntiChrist in Biblical scripture.

I see Mohammed portrayed in Rev 9 - it says comes out of the bottomless pit. The way I read Revelation we have an antichrist in the West under the succession of Popes and one in East - Islam, like the sun and moon. The similarities between the two is very compelling. Yet the goal of Mohammed was to rid the world of Apostate Roman system, today the hold hands.

I think many people see the Pope as a False Prophet and not the Anti-Christ.

Agree best to stay away from counterfeits, they are never ending.

The anti-Christ already made war on the saints, they were the saints who suffered profoundly for their faith and they richly deserved the reward they received.

Modern speculation and newspaper eschatology is frustrating.

The believers who received "The Unveiling" knew who the beast was, there was no guess work.

Thank you. Joel Richardsons argument is very convincing. The 666 connection also. I follow Ex Muslim Sonia Azam channel. She is in hiding in the USA after Death Threats in the UK for converting to Christian. Worth a look.

The Antichrist will most likely be Yiddish in lineage but from the Middle East because the Jews will have to believe he meets the Scripture definition of the Tanakh. Jews won't be accepting any white English European or American.

I did some more digging on Islamic eschatology and what they believe. This list contains beliefs from different sects, so no telling what the overall consensus is among them, but I found it very interesting....

Islamic eschatological traditions present conflicting narratives regarding the Mahdi's relationship with Israel, ranging from violent confrontation to temporary diplomatic engagement. While some hadiths describe a final, fatal battle where the Mahdi and Jesus defeat Jewish forces, other traditions mention a temporary seven-year peace treaty mediated by a Jewish priest.

Military Confrontation and Conquest
Many Islamic traditions, particularly those emphasized by Iranian revolutionary ideology, view the destruction of Israel as a theological necessity to clear the path for the Mahdi’s reappearance.

  • Final Battle: Narrations describe a conflict where Muslims fight Jews, with rocks and trees assisting in the defeat of Jewish forces until only a few remain.
  • Conquest of Jerusalem: The Mahdi is predicted to lead an army with black flags to re-conquer Israel and establish his rule from Jerusalem, with some accounts stating he will kill a figure known as the Sofyani in Beit ol-Moqaddas.
  • Ideological Obstacle: In contemporary Iranian political discourse, the existence of Israel is often cited as the "greatest barrier" to the Mahdi’s return, necessitating its eradication.
Temporary Peace Treaty
Contrasting with the narrative of total war, some hadiths suggest a brief period of diplomatic engagement before the final conflict.

  • Seven-Year Treaty: One specific tradition states the Mahdi will make a seven-year peace treaty with a Jew of the priestly lineage of Aaron.
  • Mediation: This peace agreement is described as being mediated by this Jewish priest, who also serves as a mediator between Christian groups and Muslims.
  • Subsequent Conflict: This peace is not permanent; it precedes the final apocalyptic war and the Mahdi’s ultimate victory, after which he is said to judge people using recovered versions of the Torah and Gospel.

Notice what it says about Iran. Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and part of Iraq are all Shiite Muslim nations. Just like Hamas, and Hezbollah, and the Houthis are all Shiite.

The sect of Islam that might be willing to fake peace negotiations with Israel will be the Sunni Muslims, in which Turkey is one of them.

I know what you're saying. I believe Nero was an anti-Christ for sure. And the saints who suffered under him can teach us much. I also believe there were many more anti-Christs after him and more to come.

And yet the Papal system killed over 25 million Christians, they even celebrated it thinking they had wiped them all out. None of the Roman Emperors can boast of such a large culling.

And yet the Papal system killed over 25 million Christians, they even celebrated it thinking they had wiped them all out. None of the Roman Emperors can boast of such a large culling.

True, something that HeIsHere ignores.

In fact, there are many Christians out there stating that more Christians have been killed over the last 100 years than any other time period....

According to multiple Christian historians, theologians, and organizations, more Christians have been martyred in the last 100 years (the 20th and early 21st centuries) than in all previous centuries combined since the time of Jesus.

Key statistics supporting this claim include:

  • 20th Century vs. History: Research by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity and a commission established by Pope John Paul II concluded that the 20th century produced double the number of Christian martyrs than all the previous nineteen centuries put together. Estimates suggest 45 to 50 million Christians were martyred in the 20th century alone, compared to approximately 14–26 million in all prior centuries.
  • Recent Decades: The Center for the Study of Global Christianity estimates that 1 million Christians were killed as martyrs between 2000 and 2010, and another 800,000 between 2010 and 2020.
  • Vatican Confirmation: In 2023, Pope Francis established the Commission of New Martyrs at the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Causes of Saints. In 2025, this commission confirmed 1,624 cases of Christians from various denominations murdered for their faith between 2000 and 2025.
  • Persecution Scale: Aid to the Church in Need reports that religious persecution currently impacts nearly 5.4 billion people in 62 countries, with Christians identified as the world’s most persecuted religious group.
While some independent scholars and human rights researchers argue that the exact annual figures (often cited as 100,000 per year by the Center for the Study of Global Christianity) are inflated or difficult to verify precisely, the consensus among major Christian historical bodies is that the intensity and volume of modern martyrdom surpasses that of the early Church and subsequent centuries.
