No — that claim isn’t linguistically correct, and it isn’t supported by any reputable etymology.
Pierre Sabak’s work is speculative symbology, not historical linguistics, and even his own material doesn’t claim that angel literally derives from “sky sailor.”
His system talks about “angelic sailors” and “skaphology” (the study of angelic vessels) as interpretive frameworks, not as real etymology.
The actual origin of angel is clear, simple, and completely non‑UFO: the Hebrew מַלְאָךְ (malak)** and Greek ἄγγελος (angelos)** both mean messenger, used for humans and heavenly beings alike. Nothing in Scripture or ancient languages ties the word to aircraft, chariots, or aerial craft. Sabak’s “sky sailor” idea is a modern reinterpretation, not a linguistic derivation.
Thanks for your expert opinion. I am not well up on him but I thought it was worth putting out there. I prefer Von Daniken, Sitchin and others. Im guessing youve debunked them too, in your opinion?

I did not say the bible was in error for not mentioning aliens.
"So whatever modern “aliens” and abduction phenomena are, they are not a third species and they are not cited in Scripture as extraterrestrial life."
That is what I said. What is clear is you believe in aliens and that they are abducting people, but the bible does not back your claim. Anywhere.
You believe Horses and Chariots were flying around the sky on fire?

Scripture does not describe any beings who abduct humans, operate UFO craft, or run technological programs.
The Bible only acknowledges two categories of non‑human intelligences: angels and fallen angels, and neither group uses machines, vehicles, or technology.
So whatever modern “aliens” and abduction phenomena are, they are not a third species and they are not cited in Scripture as extraterrestrial life.
Who Abducted Enoch? Who inseminated Mary?

yes — I’ve already dismantled their claims the same way I just dismantled Sabak’s, because none of them survive Scripture‑only scrutiny. Von Däniken, Sitchin, Sabak all build systems on extrabiblical speculation, not on the text itself.
Not on the text itself. Not my opinion, The text.

No — Scripture never says literal horses and literal chariots were physically flying around the sky on fire. The Bible uses war‑imagery to describe the invisible heavenly host, not combustion‑powered vehicles.

Genesis 5:24 says “he was not; for God took him.” Hebrews 11:5 says “he was translated… for God had translated him.” There is no agent except God, no craft, no vehicle, no abduction. The verb is God’s action alone. The text never hints at angels, watchers, aliens, or intermediaries. Enoch is removed by God’s sovereign act, not by a being performing a procedure.
Luke 1:35 is even more explicit: “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee.” No insemination, no sexual act, no biological father. The conception is creative, not reproductive — the same God who formed Adam from dust forms Christ’s human nature in Mary’s womb by the Spirit’s power. Matthew 1:18–20 repeats it: “that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” Again, no agent except God. No angel. No watcher. No extraterrestrial. No intercourse. No insemination.

So words are Metaphorical when it suits your opinion and Literal when not. Mary was visited by Angel Gabriel. So you are saying Angels cant create and God has to leave Heaven to do it?

Read the text. I know its hard but you can do it.

Id imagine they work on Mercury engines, Black Hole Technology and even more exotic Bio Technology a Million years ahead. Some even claim they are from our Future and we are a Self Created Species as per the Predestination Paradox, but that seems like Militant Atheism to me.

Mocking me is one thing, but mocking Scripture? Im done here.

All of this sounds as though you are mocking me and the Scripture. If not, I stand corrected.

I am open to my opinion being wrong. You make some valid points I am taking in. There is still the problem that God hasnt included Aliens, which obviously exist, in the Bible, in your Theory. In my Theory God does include Aliens in the Bible, along with Cryptids and other Entities. Discounting Millions of Abductee Testimonies and Physical Evidence of Implants is irrational. I suspect the Fallen Angels are doing the negative Abductions and the Angels arent.

All i am saying is the scripture says nothing on the matter. But if you are looking for my opinion or theory, it would be irrelevnt next to the scripture but if I had to say, I would look closer to home for the alien answer.

Thank you. Likewise someone can say it is guesswork to say Angels arent todays Aliens and the Aerial Phenomena attributed to Angels arent the same as the UFO Phenomena attributed to the Aliens of today. To believe Horses and Chariots were on fire flying around the Sky back then is even more irrational.

True, the chariot of fire that picked up the prophet Elijah would certainly seem irrational.
The other prophets insisted that they search for him. So, Leonard Nemoy's show, In Search Of, was nothing new. Lol
The description is nothing like reports of abduction from weird beings today.

It didn't sound like a common thing like the UFOs of today. I think that what Elisha saw was a literal description.

I'm not opposed to the hypothesis that some UFOs are angels manifesting as light orbs.
A lot of them are not according to interviews of witnesses and a few black project whistleblowers. A lot of sightings were later shown to be military aircrafts.
I was told that the one I saw was a tracer, but have doubts about the source of that opinion.
I have no reason to think that it was a spirit though.

A few months after the last election there were a lot of UFOs in certain locations, so many that Mr Trump commented on them. Do you remember those?

In Ezekiel 1:15-21, the prophet described “wheels within wheels, like a gyroscope,” sparkling like diamonds, with rims full of eyes.''
Have you seen a Flying Vehicle like that? Then its a UFO.

It's a creation of God described in details.
The vast majority of what people describe are orbs of light, some resembling ball lightning.

I don't do catholic lore; I know what the bible says, and what I've experienced and that's it.

Fallen angels are traditionally classified according to their original angelic orders, such as seraphim, cherubim, thrones, virtues, and powers, before their rebellion against God.

Angelic Orders and Fallen Angels

In religious and mystical traditions, angels are organized into hierarchies or orders, each with specific roles and attributes. When some angels rebelled against God, they became fallen angels, retaining their original order in many accounts:

  • Seraphim: Known as the “burning ones,” some fallen angels like Abbadona, Asmoday, and Astaroth were originally seraphim before their fall ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).
  • Cherubim: Guardians of divine presence; Azazel is a notable fallen cherub ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).
  • Thrones: Angels associated with divine justice and authority; some fallen angels, like Astaroth, were linked to this order ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).
  • Virtues: Angels of miracles and blessings; Agares and Ariel are examples of fallen angels from this order ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).
  • Powers: Warrior angels maintaining cosmic order; Amy is partly of the order of powers ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).
  • Archangels: High-ranking messengers; Adramelec is sometimes listed as a fallen archangel ( archangels-and-angels.comarchangels-and-angels.com).

Notable Fallen Angels

Many fallen angels are named in apocryphal texts, mystical writings, and folklore. Some of the most frequently cited include:

Biblical and Scriptural Context

The Bible mentions angels in various roles—cherubim, seraphim, principalities, powers, and thrones—but only a few are named, such as Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael ( EWTN Global Catholic Television NetworkEWTN Global Catholic Television Network). Fallen angels, often referred to as demons, are those who refused to serve God and were cast out, with their rebellion continuing on Earth ( EWTN Global Catholic Television NetworkEWTN Global Catholic Television Network). Scriptures like Matthew 25:41 and 2 Peter 2:4 describe their judgment and eternal punishment ( EWTN Global Catholic Television NetworkEWTN Global Catholic Television Network).

Summary

The order of fallen angels reflects their original angelic hierarchy before their rebellion. Understanding these orders helps contextualize their roles in religious texts, mystical traditions, and folklore. Key figures like Azazel, Semyaza, and Astaroth illustrate how fallen angels are linked to specific angelic ranks, knowledge, and influence over humanity.

Angels in the Bible are often associated with Chariots of Fire and other Aerial Phenomena which I am guessing are the UFOs and Aliens of today. It seems both Angels and Fallen Angels use UFOs to travel. Would you say that is correct?
Often associated? the only reference I can think of to a fiery chariot is this one:

NKJV 2Ki 2:11 Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

I have never hears of UFOs being pulled along by horses.

As for "other aerial phenomena", we have Jacob's ladder, with angels ascending and descending. That doesn't sound like a UFO or an alien. I would also add that a lot of what are assumed to be aerial phenomena involving angels are not. Take the angels who appeared to the shepherds when Jesus was born. So many Christmas cards show a throng of angels up in the sky, but what does the Bible actually say?

NKJV Luk 2:8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
Luk 2:10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luk 2:12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."
Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
Luk 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Yes, the angel stood before them. He was not flying around in the air. Verse 13 says that a multitude of the heavenly host joined the first angel, and again, not one hint that they were flying in the air.
