Another typical amil one-liner devoid of any supporting analysis or legitimate defense.

No rational person would or could conclude Nero is the character Paul is speaking about BTW.

The claim that the "Wicked" (or Man of Lawlessness) in 2 Thessalonians 2 is exclusively a reference to the 1st-century Roman Emperor Nero collapses when the biblical text is weighed directly against historical facts.

While Preterists (who argue most biblical prophecy was fulfilled by AD 70) often point to Nero because of his severe persecution of Christians, the specific criteria Paul lays out in 2 Thessalonians 2 simply do not match Nero’s life, actions, or death.

Here is the textual breakdown of why the Nero theory fails the biblical test:

The Manner of Death (Verse 8): Paul explicitly states that the Lord will destroy this Wicked figure "with the brightness of his coming" (epiphaneia tēs parousias—the manifestation of His presence). Nero was not destroyed by a divine or cosmic intervention. In June AD 68, after being declared a public enemy by the Roman Senate and fleeing to a suburban villa, a terrified Nero committed suicide by stabbing himself in the neck with the help of his private secretary.

The Temple Requirement (Verse 4): To understand verses 8-10, one must look at the context established four verses earlier. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 requires that this figure "sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." Nero never set foot in Jerusalem, let alone sat inside the Jewish Temple claiming to be God. While he demanded divine honors in Rome, he had no physical connection to the Temple in Jerusalem (which was still standing during his reign).

Signs and Lying Wonders (Verse 9): Paul describes a figure who operates with "all power and signs and lying wonders" fueled by Satan. Roman historians (like Tacitus and Suetonius) document Nero as a brutal tyrant, a megalomaniac, an actor, and a deeply paranoid ruler, but there is no historical record of him performing supernatural feats, dark miracles, or "lying wonders" to deceive the masses into worshiping him.

The AD 70 Timeline Problem: Preterists generally view Christ's "coming" in verse 8 as a spiritual coming in judgment against Jerusalem, fulfilled by the Roman destruction of the Temple in AD 70. However, Nero died in AD 68. He could not have been destroyed by a judgment event that happened two years after his own suicide.

Global Deception vs. Political Tyranny (Verse 10): The text speaks of a spiritual deception ("deceivableness of unrighteousness") where people perish because they "received not the love of the truth." Nero did not deceive the Christian world or the Jewish world into following a false religion; he subjected them to raw, violent political persecution. He was universally feared and despised by the end of his reign, not embraced as a deceptive religious savior.
All part of the tribulation 1st century.

That verse is open to broad interpretation.
About as broad as the edge of a surgical scalpel, buddy—and about as diffuse as a laser beam.

Yes, scalpels and laser beams are standard issue in the futurist dispensationalist toolkit.

Much better than the preterist and amil hammers and oil lamps, don't you think?

Hardly. Like I said, your have poor eschatological dogma. You don't even have a basic understanding of the book of Revelation.

And you have NEVER,YES, NEVER brought in a teaching to debunk that.

@cv5 has consistantly laid out doctrine.........And not you or any other person has laid out doctrine to refute him.

Just a bunch of garbage from you and your like minded folk.

Wow let me see...hmm the great tribulation last 7 years which leads to the end of the world sorta speak
The chaotic empire you address last four years and ends at the Flavian dynasty which restores law and order.
If I remember correctly 🤔

Tell me then in 1 or 2 sentences what the book of Revelation is about?

Bonus: what other book of the Bible has the exact same outline?

Not the end of the world; the end of the age...the end of the old covenant.

What, in a couple of sentences is the book of Revelation about?

The hoax of a first-century tribulation rests on little more than vain imagination, perpetuated by repetitive myths and undergirded by a staggering lack of historical and biblical literacy.

The apostle John was released from Patmos during the reign of Emperor Nerva (96–98 AD), who established the Nerva-Antonine dynasty and is historically recognized as the first of Rome's "Five Good Emperors."

Nerva's brief reign was defined by his immediate reversal of the tyrannical policies of his predecessor, Domitian (the final emperor of the Flavian dynasty). Following Domitian's assassination, the Roman Senate issued a damnatio memoriae (condemnation of memory) against the dead emperor, and Nerva systematically dismantled his oppressive acts by:

Recalling exiles: Nerva granted blanket amnesty to those banished by Domitian for political or religious reasons. Early church historians, including Eusebius, record this general amnesty as the historical catalyst for John's release and return to Ephesus.

Abolishing treason trials: He ended the paranoid maiestas (treason) trials that Domitian had used to purge senators, execute political rivals, and consolidate absolute power.

Restoring property: Nerva returned the wealth and estates that Domitian had unjustly confiscated from his victims to fund his building projects and military campaigns.

Halting religious persecution: Nerva ceased the prosecution of individuals charged with adopting a "Jewish life." Under Domitian, this categorization was weaponized to heavily tax, exile, or execute both Jews and early Christians who refused to participate in the Roman imperial cult.

Here is what I am trying to say:

Sin and death still exist during the millennium. The fact that Satan is released and Gog and Magog rebel (Rev 20:7–10) demonstrates that corruption has not been fully eradicated. As Justin Taylor puts it: "the redemption of the natural creation and its being set free from bondage to corruption does not occur, at least in its consummate expression, until 1,000 years subsequent to Christ's return."

The "possession" is still on the old earth. During the millennium, believers reign with Christ (Rev 20:4–6), but they inhabit the old creation. The "purchased possession" is not yet fully delivered into its eternal state. The new heavens and new earth of Revelation 21 come only after the millennium concludes.

Christ's handover of the kingdom is still future. 1 Corinthians 15:24–26 says Christ will deliver the kingdom to the Father after destroying "every rule and every authority and every power," with the last enemy destroyed being death. In the premillennial timeline, death is not finally destroyed until the transition into the new creation.

The "day of redemption" (Eph 4:30) connects to 1:14. Paul's reference to a future "day of redemption" in Ephesians 4:30 is widely understood as pointing back to the same eschatological event in 1:14 — the final, bodily glorification. That day arrives only at the consummation, which in premillennialism follows the millennium.

So the millennium is not without sin?
Satan is still able to inflict damage even while "bound"?
It is sounding more and more like the times we live in.

You better read those verses again because they say that Satan is bound so that he can not DECEIVE THE NATIONS during that 1,000 years. Satan is definitely deceiving the nations today. So, no, it didn't start at the cross almost 2,000 years ago.

Being wrong doesn't matter to him.
What matters to him is that he says things that he thinks will bug you.

I think a lot of that problem is just due to Christian churches mostly teaching from the New Testament instead of the full Bible and they just don't know. Some people here obviously have a thorn in their side about Israel/Jews, but I don't think the majority here do.

What if we just don't like false doctrine built around that subject?

I am pointing to the subject matter of the 144,000.
THEY ARE FIRSTFRUITS ...FACT.
JESUS IS OUR FIRSTFRUITS...FACT.

THAT is 2 entirely different dynamics.

If the 144,000 are FIRSTFRUITS , THEN what are they firstfruits of?????

That is my point.
It is cannonized eternally in Gods word.

You can not proceed with your doctrine with that obstacle in the way.
Curious....

Where does it actually say the words that the 144,000 are firstfruits?

Still can't do it Huh?

Love your conservative freedom posts. But your spiritual , doctrinal posts are very lacking.
Since you don't know, I'll help you out. In the book of Deuteronomy, God establishes a covenant with Israel. The outline for the book is as follows:

1. Preamble 1:1-5
2. Historical Prologue 1:6-4:49
3. Ethical Stipulations 5:1-26:19
4. Sanctions 27:1-30:20
5. Succession Arrangements 31:1-34:12

The preamble identifies the Lordship of the Great King, stressing His transcendence and imminence. The prologue surveys the previous relationship with His subjects. The stipulations expound the subjects obligations under the covenant. The sanctions outline the blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. And finally, the arrangements are made for continuity of covenantal relationship for future generations.

Let that soak in awhile, and consider that Israel failed to live up to the terms of the covenant. How do you suppose God would respond? Wouldn't He be forced to bring the sanctions upon Israel for failing to keep the covenant? Hence, this is what we find in the book of Revelation. I'll show you in the next post how the book of Revelation has the exact same outline except God is not initiating a covenant, but ending a covenant.

The sin is found in man not satan....Satan has no influence no one can say the devil made me do it.
