I know the history. I also know that the British (which I am) sent many Jewish refugees back to Europe to be murdered by Nazis. The whole point of the state of Israel, which was promised under the Balfour declaration, was to prevent a holocaust. Jews have been murdered continually since the diaspora.
Your claim is grossly overstated. Everyone around the Middle East? How many Jews do you think were in Israel in the 1940's? In 1946, it was about half a million. That was about a third of the population of what was the known as Palestine. Murdered millions? Where do you get that from? Osama Bin Laden? Khamenei?
Do know why so many Arabs became refugees? They were warned that Israel would be invaded when it declared independence. Many left prior to the 5 nation invasion of Israel, which was urged on them by the Arab invaders.
I don't condone violence. But the British army trained Egyptian forces and so-called Palestinian militias while doing their best to keep Israelis defenceless. It's hardly surprising that Israelis took up arms. Perhaps you might remember a tiny little conflict with Britain that started in 1775. It only lasted 8 years. I don't hear too many people demanding that America ceases to exist. I'd be fascinated to compare the number of people Americans have killed with the number that Israel has killed. America's military has 2.75 million service personnel. The IDF 675,000. American forces have killed about 4.5 million since 2001, let alone what was done before. Where is the outrage?
A good number of Arabs did not leave Israel during the 1948 war. They are citizens of Israel with the same rights as anyone else.
Israel exists and survives according to God's grace and His plan and purpose. Most people say that America was right to be independent of Britain, in spite of having to use violence. How about extending the same courtesy to Israel.
