That is weird that is not what prophecy is about.

Someone is getting mixed up here.

It's not a card-trick or mind-reading game. 🤷‍♀️
That's why I asked. I'm not sure what he means and curious.

Today prophesy is basically preaching/teaching the Bible. In regards to future, it's forth telling what is already written for us.

Hello,

I didn't know what you were talking about until I read your last post. Are you saying that you are thinking of a name and a true prophet would know your thought?

Yes.

Someone said he hears the audible voice of God and now it's being demanded that this person give the name that someone else is thinking in 3 days.

Sunday was the last day.

The thing is, this person never claimed to be a prophet, never tried to give any words of prophecy, and never claimed to be getting messages from God for other people.

He simply expressed that he believed this was a way that God communicated to him, presumably about his own life and not others.

The author of the thread, who is setting the demand, has not set forth what the consequence will be for the person who doesn't produce the name, though someone asked about this.

So we're all waiting to see what happens tomorrow.

I'm assuming the author of the thread is going to declare the other person a false prophet and a liar?

But as stated, he never claimed to be a prophet or to have a word for anyone else to begin with.

And even better yet for the OP when he answers...

Is God talking to him now?

After all, he said, If God can speak to this other member, surely God will also talk to him (the original poster.)

But not audibly and so casually. That was the issue that he wanted addressed.

🕊️

I understand what he's doing. We are called to be innocent, not gullible. That's why God said to test the spirits.

🕊️

Yes, I get that we're supposed to test the spirits.

But I don't think asking people to guess the name you're thinking in 3 days -- or else you must not hear from God -- is a Biblical test.

God said test the spirits -- but He didn't say to test them by demanding that He perform the kind of tricks you see played by fortune tellers as a carnival.

If Jacob asked the same question to ALL the people on this forum -- "Give me the name I'm thinking of in 3 days" -- of EVERYONE here that claims to have heard something from God, how many would pass?

Would you?

And does that mean that all here who can't produce the name Jacob's is thinking have never heard from God?

And if NO ONE here passes -- does that mean not a single person here ever hears from God?

Karlon would have already tested the spirit that was speaking to HIM, to know it was from God.

Why does Jacob need to test the spirit that DOESNT speak to him. I am confused about that.

God doesn't always speak to us ALL THE TIME, and He doesn't make us mind readers. How is anyone supposed to know what name Jacob is thinking of.

Jesus? Jehosaphat? I have an entire thread of cat names on here.....

I mean I can pray and ask God to give me a scripture pertaining to Jacobs personal situation, I have done that before(with others) but it doesn't mean God can't or won't speak to Jacob himself. Why would I need to be Jacobs messenger when God hasn't told me to do that.

God brought to my mind when Aaron and Miriam questioned Moses' calling. God himself stood up for Moses. He didn't mind being put to the test.

Numbers 12:1-8
1
Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. 2 “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.

3 (Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)

4 At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out. 5 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, 6 he said, “Listen to my words:

“When there is a prophet among you,
I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,
I speak to them in dreams.

7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;
he is faithful in all my house.
8 With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid

to speak against my servant Moses?”

This passage shows that God is willing to be tested and stand up for someone He actually talks to - Moses.

Incidently, Aaron got humbled and fell to his face and Miriam got struck with leprosy.

So when @Jacobfaith put @Karlon to the test, neither God nor the Holy Spirit stood up for Karlon and told the name. Whatever that spirit was, it wasn't God the Father, nor the Holy Spirit.

🕊️

uh.... God can say what He wants, He doesn't need to say a name you are thinking of. He didn't do that for Aaron, He actually called them all to stand on Mt Sinai and hear Him.

So why don't we all go to Mt Sinai and meet with God there (or wherever place God wants us to meet)

Proverbs 20:6

Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find?

Still making excuses for Karlon? Why not protect him from that spirit? You're just enabling that spirit to continue to deceive Karlon. It isn't God or the Holy Spirit.

🕊️

Also note, God spoke with Moses FACE TO FACE. Moses didn't just hear a voice like Samuel did.

I am not protecting Karlon.

I am saying God can do what He wants with different people. I am not saying Karlon is more faithful than anyone else. God has spoken to me, but it's nothing to do with anyone else, and I am not Moses leading another nation out of Egypt.

As I've said several times before, it's not the fact that we should test the spirits I'm questioning, but rather the method of testing.

If this method of testing is acceptable, it should work on any one of us, right?

I've already said I personally would fail it -- so I guess people should think I don't hear from God.

@2ndTimeIsTheCharm, I'm thinking of a name.

I wrote it down so I can't change it. I'll even give a few hints that should completely give it away -- it's someone I used to know, and it's spelled in a unique way -- so in order to get the answer right, it has to be presented in the exact way that person spelled it.

God knows what that name is.

What does it mean if/when you can't give me that name by the end of today?

I want to test the spirit that's apparently telling you that Jacob's method is an appropriate way to test the spirits.

I have already posted what another guy experienced with God speaking to him, if you care to read a previous post on it. He shared his experience with other Christians by writing a book about it.

It's not the method God chooses to speak with me, but I advise if you are seeking Him...to keep knocking on His door. Like the widow, she persisted until she got her answer.
