Welcome to the site !
Do you believe that only some will be raised to eternal life on the last day's judgement ?
Won't the judgement of all mankind be based on merit ?
I have found that those who really trust in/on Jesus, do act according to His will, and not our own.
Why would perfectly obedient behavior be such a difficult concept to embrace ?
Us in Him, cannot do evil things.
I appreciate the welcome, and I don't mind questions. I also don't mind sharing my faith,
Obedience is not difficult to embrace for me, but it's difficult for you or anyone to control, so why bother 🤔

Choosing to believe the gospel is not a work that merits salvation. Through believing the gospel we are trusting in Another's work (Christ's death, burial and resurrection). Jesus Christ still gets 100% credit for our salvation.
Choosing is a work done for salvation.
Choosing not to believe is a work done for destruction.
Our choices guide our actions.
If one wants to be found innocent on the day of judgement, he will choose to keep himself free from the lusts of the "flesh".
You believe that it "happened," but you don't believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of your salvation.
You seem to believe that the "starting gun" is the end of the race.
So, no mention of believing in Him/believing the gospel/faith? Acts 10:43 - Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins. Acts 15:7 - And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. 8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Thank God we have the choice to believe our past sins can be washed away at our "immersion" into Christ's death !
Acts 2:38 must be read alongside verses like (Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) and consider the fact that forgiveness is explicitly tied to repentance/belief/faith and not water baptism.
No man can remain true to his turn from sin, witout water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their past sins; as it is baptism that also destroys the old man and allows our resurrection with Christ to walk in newness of life/rebirth from God's seed.
Luke 24:47 - and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 3:19 - Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. *What happened to baptism?

Acts 5:31 - Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. *What happened to baptism?

Repentance and faith in Christ are two sides to the same coin. Acts 20:21 - testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The only logical and Biblical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 13:38-39; 15:7-9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*

Salvation by sinless perfection and water baptism is a "different" gospel that culminates in salvation by works.
So what ?
It isn't the works of the Law that Paul wrote against !
Spirit baptism is the reality, and water baptism is the picture of the reality. A symbol is not the reality but is a picture of the reality. You are trying to turn a symbol into a savior.
I would have thought that Paul would have known that when he baptized the twelve at Epesus.
But he did water baptize them, AND laid hands on them so they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Two different baptisms in the period of just a few minutes !
Must or will? Obedience is not forced or legalistic for those who are born of God. (1 John 3:7-10)
True, so what seed are the disobedient 'born of' ?
Not God's.
Romans 4:5 - But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

In regard to 1 John 3:6, in Greek, the verb tense for "sinning" is in the present continuous tense, which means to keep on or practicing sin an ongoing lifestyle of sin and not mere occasional acts of sin. This does not mean that Christians achieve sinless perfection as John earlier notes in 1 John 1:8-10. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us and if we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. ⚠️

1 John 3:6 (AMP) - No one who abides in Him [who remains united in fellowship with Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him.

In regard to 1 John 3:7, those who practice righteousness do so BECAUSE they are righteous and not in order to become righteous. This is not our own personal righteousness but the righteousness which is of God by faith/imputed righteousness. Practicing righteousness is the demonstrative evidence that we are children of God. (1 John 3:10)

1 John 3:7-10.

The Mosaic Law also covers the moral aspect of the law which includes good works. (Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 22:37-40; James 2:15-16) So, not saved by works is not exclusive only to specific works of the law but also includes works in general. Abraham was before the law and the work of offering up his son on the altar did not cause him to be accounted as righteous. (Romans 4:2-3) Paul also said we are not saved by works of righteousness (literally works done in righteousness) which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us.. and in 2 Timothy 1:9, Paul said that He saved us and called us with a holy calling not according to our works.. Sorry to burst your bubble but there will be no boasting for you.

Salvation and good works are impossible without the grace of God. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Romans 11:6 - But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.

2 Timothy 1:9 - who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.
Thanks be to God that we are no longer under the Mosaic Law's hundreds of edicts, and have but two commanments to obey.
Lack of obedience manifests a lack of connection to God's seed.

Huh? "Hyper-focus on a single aspect of salvation"? lol. Really? Actually, there is only one single "aspect of salvation", and that is God THE (singular) Savior who (singularly) saves His people - that's it - nothing more to it than that and is the gospel's whole focus and foundation - a very simple and straight-forward concept, indeed. Why do you think 1 Co 3:11 tells us, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ, and Mat 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins". Do you actually understand what those verses are saying? They say that as THE (singular) Savior, and as salvation's (singular) foundation, there is nothing else that can be laid outside of that (singular) foundation of Jesus Christ, THE (singular) Savior- nothing else- because there is NO OTHER WAY besides Christ, which, according to your belief, is exactly what you are trying to do - trying to lay another foundation - with another savior - making salvation by man instead of exclusively by God. Your post demonstrates - as I have told you repeatedly - that you are completely incapable - at least as of now -of comprehending what "Savior" actually means, and that Jesus Christ alone is both that God and that Savior and man is not.
You've demonstrated that you are completely incapable of comprehending, the gospel's singular, most fundamental, and important aspect, instead, desiring to turn it into a work of man instead of a work of God. Obviously, it is your prerogative to "feel" how you want, but that doesn't mean your feeling according to Scripture isn't totally, completely, and unequivocally wrong, which it is. Again, I strongly suggest you spend your time reading Scripture without preconceived interpretations. and focus closely on the (singular) Savior- try to comprehend what the doctrine of a (singular)Savior is/means according to Scripture alone, and what it is that Jesus as THE (singular) Savior accomplished.
I thank God for all the blocks laid on top of the corner stone, as well as for the corner stone Himself.
Jesus died for my past sins, and was raised from the dead three days later.
THAT is the gospel.
Everything else we have been tought is in addition to the gospel.
I learned I must stay true to my Savior.
What have you been taught that annuls that understanding ?

They must accuse Paul of works based salvation considering what Paul says here:

2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith
Perhaps you are right.
He wrote...“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” (Rom. 6:6-7)
"Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness." (Rom 6:18)
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Rom 6:22)
How awful it must seem to them to read that we are servants of anything.

Here's another bit of wisdom from Paul..."Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." (2 Tim 2:19)
More work !

I appreciate the welcome, and I don't mind questions. I also don't mind sharing my faith,
Obedience is not difficult to embrace for me, but it's difficult for you or anyone to control, so why bother 🤔
Because our behavior IS controllable !
In Christ, all things are possible; including righteous living.

They refuse to acknowledge that after having been born again the Lord has ordained that we walk in good works!

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

That's a divine assignment from the Lord and He's given us His Word and His Spirit to enable us to walk in agreement with Him (spiritually minded) and stop walking in agreement with the devil (carnally minded).

1 John 3:7 - Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOES righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

James 1:22 - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Because our behavior IS controllable !
In Christ, all things are possible; including righteous living.
You mean you can rule over sin,
But even cain was told he could rule over sin.

Behaviour and obedience kind of the same thing but obedience requires your action, so I'm asking why bother to try and control another person's actions

Romans 8:13,14 - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

1 John 5:18 - We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1 Corinthians 15:34 - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Galatians 5:16 - Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:24 - they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Catholics also use the word if a lot but don't see the meaning

Here it is

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

This is a believer remembering the difference when he walked with the light

Yep.
Being told to manifest their belief, is anathema to some.

You mean you can rule over sin,
Yes, though better said is Jesus inme can rule over sin.
But even cain was told he could rule over sin.
Got the verse for that ?

We can't control the actions of others, but we have been given the task of showing them they can control themselves, with the Lord's help.

we have been given the task of showing them they can control themselves, with the Lord's help.

Those walking in love would seek to help others understand this.
Those not walking in love could care less whether anybody goes to hell or not so they say nothing.

Yep.
Being told to manifest their belief, is anathema to some

Why would this apply to believers ?

Most people who preach eternal security all seem grounded in the word to me.

I would be careful if I was you.

Encouraging kids on the milk is a good thing but equally encouraging them wisely is really something for mature believers,

May I ask are you qualified

I believe it's in genesis 4:7

So do you know about a relationship with the father before the son ?

Why would this apply to believers ?

Because of what the Lord says in His Word, that's why

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

That's a divine assignment from the Lord and He's given us His Word and His Spirit to enable us to walk in agrement with Him.

James 1:22 - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Most people who preach eternal security all see grounded in the word to me.

Those teaching eternal security must reject portions of scripture in order to continue in their eisegesis
(that's a polite way of saying these people are cherry pickers who reject the whole counsel of the Lord)

I would be careful if I was you.

He's on the right track looking at the whole counsel of the Lord unlike the fake grace teachers.

Encouraging kids on the milk is a good thing but equally encouraging them wisely is really something for mature believers,

Actually those teaching eternal security are drinking the cup of devils and are only qualified to lead people away from the Lord which is what tares seek to do and it's so sad that some of these people have no idea who they are working for. Others know they are in error and continue therein in order to enrich themselves and to remain popular.

Doing right leads to acceptance,

It's that simple.

It's simple really and not so difficult to understand,.at least it shouldn't be for believers, but I wonder can you accept that the son can only accept you once you have accepted his father also.

Have you accepted this

I wonder can you accept that the son can only accept you once you have accepted his father also.
Have you accepted this

I wouldn't be a Christian if I didn't.

The thing to know about the Lord is He cannot and does not accept workers of iniquity.
Have you accepted this?

This is why He has warnings in His Word letting people know they must depart from iniquity and abide in Christ and those not doing so will be removed from His Kingdom.

This is why the enemy is pushing eternal security teaching so hard is because he knows a lot of people will stand flowing with the world in iniquity thinking they are still saved on their way to Heaven when they are not.

I should probably inform you that extreme Catholics also attack grace Alot to
