Ok, so, looks like nobody's talking now, I will start...

I went to college way back when and there, the 1st day of school I met a girl who had the same 2 classes as me starting out, psychology and math. Anyway, we walked to lunch for the first month, talked, talked, talked. I think I made a mistake when 2 weeks into our 'lunch walk' I mustered up enough nerve to ask her to go across the mountains with me to watch.my high school play a soccer game. Maybe a bit too Forward, I know, I know. But I did it ...and she said 'no.'

I then still walked to lunch with her , as I remember, but her friends were then meeting us and our dumb (intimate?) lunch time eating by ourselves ended as she was then eating with her roommate and her friends more and more.

Anyway, along came the Fall dance and I didn't ask her to it, in time, anyway. Of all people, my roommate asked her!

Anyway, things tailed off with she and I at that point, even though she and he never meshed more than that dance end October, homecoming dance.

Sooo, November, December cruiser along, I didn't do more then than say 'hi' to this girl in classes and was not eating lunch with her much after that. We were still friends, but just different kind of friends, if that makes any sense.

Next was Christmas break over and January came and classes started up. Only one class goes on for tjisvone month so a lot looser time, this was time I played Castle Risk, whee, and, chess, and, did donuts in the snow :D

Well, I was out in the entrance area of our split-side dorm of girls one side, boys the other, and, there SHE was, getting ready to go for a run.....

Me: 'hey, Shelley, (not real name, protecting the innocent :D ) , what are you doing?

She was in shorts over black tights and I knew she liked to run so nothing out of the ordinary.

Her: 'going running.'

My brain started singing, because just because I quit going to lunch with her I still liked her, a lot :)

Me: ' I like to run. Cool.'

Her: 'oh, cool. Want to run with me?'

Ok, good , good, good, I thought. I played for the college soccer team, did some running in it. I can do THIS. 'Course, I quit running after 8th grade track, never getting under 5:30 in the mile , so, just wasn't' one of my gifts (from God, of course, the giver of ALL our gifts, and, we all got them , oh, sorry my green brain is running wild :D ).

Me: 'sure,I can go running with you. '

I want to make one more disclosure. I had DONE no running since soccer season ended in early November.

Her: ' Great.'

We went running....talking like drástico the whole time, and, we ran for 1 hour , 15 minutes, talking about derply personal things was me, parents crumbling marriage that started when 12, and, they seperated before my senior year high school started, and , so....

When we got done running, I was not tired at all .

She told me she ran that course the fastest she'd ever run it, and, that the route we just ran was 13 miles long.

And, I was not even tired! 13 miles, 1 hour, 15 minutes , just amazing how God got me through that.

God?

Uh, Yeah, I never ran more than 3 miles straigght to that point in my life and Yeah, God.

That shows you all, guys (and gals) the power of when a man loves a woman :). And, no doubt, before running with her in her half a marathon training run, I was in love.

That is a very nice story Green :)

I havent done something like that but reminded me a date a had on highschool, this guy invited me to go out with him and i liked him very much so i bought a beautiful shoes to that day :) , but...when i was on that date we were walking and the shoes started to hurt and after a while of walking my feet started bleeding.

Of course i didnt want to tell that to this guy because i was shy and i waited but finally i told him and i was very surprised when he took me into his arms and carried me for many blocks until we arrived a place i could sit. I was kind of thin at the time but i didnt think that this guy could carry me all that way so i still wonder how did he get that strength. :D

Yeah, my story probably seems a bit surreal but God really, surely, did that all in my life and running that far with no prior training and not running since soccer season ended just was one of those great things God showed me, like He showed you, that He is always there for us. :)

I am sure too that the guy that carried you several blocks had his faith deepened that day, lizzytheone. And that story is nice and surely speaks of the power of God in us when He needs to get something done in us. Your faith should have been deepened too, as I am sure you were heavy enough that you hit close to a 100 pounds and that is a lot of weight to carry for one block even.
