^^^^^Good point, Mr. Green, listening to a girl spill her heart out right after you just met might be more than most guys could handle. I didn't think of that, because I'm not the kind of girl who would do it. By "share my heart", I meant talk about Jesus and other things that are important to me, without being misunderstood :). I would never spill my guts to someone I just met, the thought actually amuses me, hehehe :D. I'm very reserved, actually.

Regarding your other thread, I'll see what I can do. But, to be honest, I have a hard time figuring out the rules on these word-games you come up with, so I can't promise anything. Maybe Snackers can explain it to me.........:D

LOL, you ALWAYS crack me up with Snackers. I bet, snackersmommy, you and it (or is snackers a he or a she ? ) could do a good ventriloquism act, do you think snackers would be opposed of getting his blue outer self redone, completely, becoming quite stuffed. :D

---yes, most girls I don't think share their whole life after just meeting a guy , most show a perfect interest and the guy just clams op, freezes and you might as well stick a fork in him because he won't feel it. He's done. Been there a few times, sigh, the Lord leads , that's the good news, I just try to follow Him. :)

LOL, "stick a fork in him"...........it's so cute how men sometimes seem almost scared of us girls . I don't understand it, but, "whatevahhhh" :p.

And, FYI, Snackers is a boy, but he would lose a great deal of charm by being stuffed, and besides, I'd make a lousy ventriloquist, because I have a hard time keeping a straight face. I amuse myself WAY too easily............ What can I say :D.

Laughter is the best medicine is an ole Chinese saying , but Proverbs too says the ability to laugh , at ourself is good . Not exactly the same as keeping yourself amused, as uyou put it, snackersmommy, but, Yeah, the Lord leads, and, that kind of independence is a gift from God . :)

Sidenote: Piddy, my girl, is very good at keeping herself entertained if I am busy doing work stuff and no time to play, she will gnaw on a knuckle bone I give her or just go sit quietly away from me. That said, I ALWAYS do work hard to find time, even during my busy day, to take time-out to tug o war or stick some peanut butter in a Kong or something, like give her a blue ceramic cookie jar and let her batq it around until it shatters.

I'm kidding . I like snackers, I hope for long years of you never not seeing snackers and bumping him onto the floor :)

DERAILED!

Oooops. Right you are, Mr. Khatru. As I said once before, Snackers LOVES derailing threads. However, I think you'll agree that Mr. Green bears some of the responsibility, and it IS his thread to derail if he wants to.

But, yes, you're right, I should butt out, as the op was really directed at the gentlemen of the site to begin with. Snackers is sorry. I'm double-grounding him............:D

It's all Snackers fault :D

Koalabear, I will comment on what you said since since SiberKat rightfully brought attention to me derailing my own thread.

You said something to the effect of being friends and not dating.

Hmmm, I should probably start another thread but I digress, and, hope at same time Josh Harris (I Kissed Dating Goodbye) does not get too upset, by saying this:

Dating is a NECESSARY EVIL. Sure, I agree you should be friends , but that uncomfortable feeling of getting to know someone who is before this date a stranger makes us stronger.

And God wants us to constantly rely on Him. He is ALWAYS there for us and think it's Collossians that says He will not 'allow temptation' beyond what we are able to handle and I know Hebrews 13:5 says God will never leave us nor forsake us.

Maybe, I am making no sense but it really goes back to what I said before...

Guys, and, girls, YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST, will make everything go well. Do you have the faith to believe that? I pray so, said for you and... Me. :)

............I used to be as a non Christian because it was generally girls I didn't know much......maybe an hour in a noisy night club.
But now I want to get to know someone first, I'm not afraid of asking, but caustious in that I don't want to have lots of tries at dating, there's more at stake for Christians. I'd be thinking of the future, not just go out with the first attractive girl who shows interest and see what happens......

Yes,timOfree, there is a mystique in asking a girl out you hardly know and I see no reason in having to be friends first. I, as a Chrsitian guy, you better darn tootin' believe it will not leave things to chance very long, getting quite quickly to the ASK....

And, the ''Ask' for me is : Do you believe in God?'

Besides that, HEY, the Lord leads, let's get to know each other, but IF we have a fundamental difference there, nooooo matter how much I like her, that just is God's immediate knowing it t'aint gonna work. And God doesn't have to sa ya thing to me , I already know the answer of IF she is someone that is good for me. The Lord leads and sometimes He does with actual prompting us a direction, through scripture, through whatever signs means He uses to get our attention when He sees we neeed attention :D , but sometimes we just KNOW what is right without needing any asking at all.

So, for me, personally, I have never been afraid to ask girls out, it's definitely been my own selifish at times keeping me from dating, be it whatever bad sin you want to name, that qualifies as 'sellfishness,' because I don't feel truly I was giving God a shot to get me hitched in my mid-20s because I had MANY girls come my way. 30s too. For me, 20's was more my selifish wiles, and, 30s was more my financial wiles holding me back from asking girls out.

Well, prob way mo info than you want to know but now you know it :D

It seems that most girls my age just don't want to be asked. I managed to take one woman out to dinner but she was older (28). We didn't end up dating, but the point is she was receptive and appreciative unlike the women that are my age. Personally, I find this very frustrating! Many guys I know agree and are frustrated as well.

As far as being afraid goes, no, we don't like rejection but then again, who does? There's not reason to be afraid of it, but being cautious and looking for signs (receptivity on the girls part) is key. We are men though, generally we are stoic enough to withstand multiple rejections if necessary. lol

Some of us are just too dense to notice the girl who is mildly showing interest (raises hand). For myself if a woman is literally clamoring all over me I tend to run the other way, I've learned it is a sign of extreme neediness that needs to be healed outside of a relationship. I think for many of us guys we emotionally relate a rejection of our advance as a rejection of us personally, thus the fear of asking someone out.

Great point oncefallen, that is so true.

Oh, you modernized people have forgotten the effective ways of ritual dance and charm...!

I know I am old fashion but the couple of guys that I have been "serious" with I was very good friends with first. The last guy I dated, I was super good friends with and went to the same church as him for over a year before we even started dating. But that made our relationship even better. And while we were such good friends and dating his friends were interested in me. But once we broke up I'm just ok friends with his friends and I hardly talk to this guy anymore. I have a hard time being friends with guys now.
I wouldn't turn a guy down if he were to ask me out, but whether there was a second, third date would depend on his personality and attitude towards life. Plus I have to be an awesome person. So it's give and take.

When I am having an off day(don't care about my hair, wearing levis and a t shirt) guys are always hitting on me when I am having an on day(hair all done up and cute, super cute outfit) they just check me out. Explain that.....

it think its mainly the fear of rejection, no matter what.. but also sometimes we cant see the obvious... LOL

As a NGSB, the main reason why i'm afraid to ask the girl out is because i have no confidence in myself and fear of being rejected.

I'm not afraid of asking a woman out. But it's hard to find a like minded spiritual woman (Christian) here in miami maybe I need to get involved in the church a but more.

WELL SOMETIMES WE HAVE SO MUCH TO DO THAT WE THINK TWICE OF ASKING A GIRL OUT, LIKE NOW I AM STUDYING, WORKING, AND TRAVELLING BETWEEN TOWNS EVERY WEEK. I SPEND TIME MOST OF MY FREE TIME IN CHURCH AND THEN I THINK WHEN WILL I HAVE TIME FOR A GIRLFRIEND / WIFE :-/ BUT NOW I AM ALMOST READY, I HAVE NOT FELT ANYTHING FOR A GIRL IN 2 YEARS NOW. THATS NOT NORMAL :-/ LOL. JOSHUA 1 v 9 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you." GUYS TAKE THIS VERSE WITH YOU WHEN ASKING A GIRL OUT :-D LOVE ALL OF YOU PEOPLE :-)

No mention of God in your blues (font color) .

I am being tongue and cheek with you but seriously YOU will NEVER be ready for marriage if you decide 'I' can do it when it feels right, 'when I have time.' . You will be doomed for failure. Hmmmm, well, maybe I shouldn't be that rough 'n tough on you. It is just a lot harder for God to do things in our life when it's all about 'I' doing things and not about He doing everything, or, in similar , other words, taking care of everything.

But, Yeah, listen to yourself above, it's all about you and you will see not only that God does not like your attitude, either will....

girls.

Just saying. God bless you, bapt. :)

Yes because we HATE rejection....deep down inside were those 12 year old boys building up the corage to ask the girl to dance. And our egos cant handle it sometimes. But what we TRULY hate is when a girl tells us your a nice guy but.........

a lot of girls r just really nice which is easy to think "oh she likes me" then when you find out a couple of
times they don't you tend to get gun shy.
