the word boring is relative.. it concerns me that as christians we giving it such attention. if you think someone who opens their heart to you sincerely is boring, then i would cautiously be tempted to say you are a deceptive person.

i would rather be told bluntly if im boring than to be encouraged into spilling out my guts only to indirectly pick it up.

im sorry if im being a party spoiler but dont some of you think that as christians showing considerations all the time is mandatory. these labels do offend or alienate others.

how is our behaviour different from what happens in the "vicious" world

Would our Lord Jesus Christ find this gratifying.

What is this christianity we preach of?

Agreed. Even though it isn't "sugar-coated", I really like the way you put that for some reason. I hate feeling like I have to hide my heart, so I'm careful not to criticize others for opening theirs.

someone who doesnt watch tv makes them infinitely more interesting in my own opinion
 
also to add on, if any man or woman is honest/sincere and righteous, stuff like that shouldn't matter. besides, boringness is just a measure of how uninterested we are in one thing like a mans lint collection or a ladies fascination about coins or knitting. We have our own little pleasures that others may scoff at and say thats weird, but that makes us who we are and God loves us either way and we should try to overlook these things in people, of course there are some things we cannot tolerate but hey, no judging!
 
If boring means "uninterested" then.... when we think that someone is boring then maybe we are being selfish......

Zero forgive me if i come across as being untoward that's certainly not my intent.

I cover myself there as i have noticed (maybe mistakenly so) that some people place so much emphasis on outfoxing or outwitting others on this forum. Im not saying its wrong, i personally think its not beneficial in the bigger scheme of the gospel. My biased take i must add.
Anyway Zero just because its not a big deal to you doesn't mean you shouldn't be considerate to others.i personally feel that the 'me' mentality is being detrimental to the ministry of salvation.
someone may be battling with their self-worth and considering turning to JESUS CHRIST for their complexion fix.and yet our unexamined rhetoric leads them away. I know its a personal relationship with the Lord but dont we all have a behavioural responsibility as saved children of GOD.
MAYBE im being a 'snob' but im under the impression that this forum is primarily a tool to expand the ministry.
To encourage alienation of others different from us seems out

Shine...I'm going to let you in on a big secret..this thread was created as a joke in response to the boring christian men thread. Of course you didn't know that since you weren't here. Also, my reply was just a joke, not at all meant to be taken seriously. If you don't like my jokes, that's fine. I don't expect everyone to like them or to even get them.

Some friendly advice: If you are going to get along with folks here you might just want to tone down the criticism a little.

Also, as far as outwitting and outfoxing each other in this forum, its not against the rules and we can and ARE still able to be very edifying here in spite of all the silliness. If this forum isn't to your liking, you can of course voice your opinion, as you have done, but don't expect people to change for you. Neither you or I can expect something like that. In fact, I would never even ask it. You are free to be yourself on here, and so should everyone else be free to be themselves on here (unless they break the rules or are the evil spawn of satan or something).
