Hoping and praying
and asking anew
for something so good
it's too good to be true

so how does one know
if they really possess
something unseen
something not of flesh

for now we don't see
the eternal, unclear
I just hope, beyond hope
that I have it right here.
Amazing...

Trial of Tears written by John Myung

(Part I. It's Raining)
Under the sun, there is nothing to hide
Under the moon, a stranger waits inside
People disappear
The music fades away
Splashing through the rain
I'll dream with them one day

It's raining, raining,
On the streets of New York City
It's raining, raining, raining, deep in heaven

I may have wasted all those years
They're not worth their time in tears
I may have spent too long in darkness
In the warmth of my fear

Take a look at yourself
Not at anyone else
And tell me what you see
I know the air is cold
I know the streets are cruel
But I'll enjoy the ride today

It's raining, raining,
On the streets of New York City
It's raining, raining, raining deep in heaven
Raining deep in heaven

I may have wasted all those years
They're not worth their time in tears
I may have spent too long in darkness
In the warmth of my fears

As I walk through all my myths
Rising and sinking like the waves
With my thoughts wrapped around me
Through a trial of tears

Hidden by disguise, stumbling in a world
Feeling uninspired, he gets into his car
Not within his eyes to see, open up, open up
Not much better than the man you hate

Thats a good question, sometimes we don't know, because most of the time being saved usually
means you aren't going to feel or even know God is there at all, most of the time you will feel
the darker things more, but that doesn't mean God isn't there, he is, sometimes a prayer takes longer because the battle waged in Heaven may be a long one,
But if you cry out to God he will move Heaven and Earth just so he could rescue the one who called out.

everything is all about faith and believing and enduring in the word of God which is so powerful because it is sharper than any two edged sword. Its about being faithful to the end then you will see Gods promises pull through, which contain a promise of good and not evil, a hope and a future for you and those around you.

I'm very glad you shared this poem, I like it because you can see your heart, and it brings out
this poem making it alive. Its awesome! Keep it going.

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever." - Psalm 118

"Voice Of Truth"
Lyrics by Casting Crowns

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
And the voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!
"You'll never win"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

"The Storm"
- By Lowanla (me)

Safe and sound in the boat surrounded by natural disaster;
The crew and I notice the wind and waves picking up faster.
A familar but ghostly shape is out to sea walking toward us;
Full of fear our courage no more, our strength turns dust.

He's calling me to him in the ocean blue;
there is a storm about, it rocks the boat.
I am drawn, I know his voice, for I am his;
this king who gives me peace in the blue abyss.

he said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid!"
comforting he smiles standing upon the waters wave.
"If this is true tell me to come to you on the water." I said.
He said. "come." unsurprised he knew my trust to face my dread.

The storm is rocking the boat; could this be our last day?
The crew is fainting with fear, but my eyes are fixed today.
I remember all the things the LORD has done for me,
and I am comforted through it all, through the storm, everything.

My eyes upon the Savior ignoring the crew crying at me, dismissing it all,
they said I was foolish; but then why am I the only one to answer the call.
walking to him on the water, lovingly he's smiling like a father to his infant child.

This has never been done before, and my knee's are weak and shaking.
I am determined because I trust in the LORD because he has yet to fail me.
Taking my eyes off the LORD, I begin to look around me, at my circumstances.
My faith is Gone! Look there is a giant wave next to me! O foolish glances!

I'm going under! I begin to slowly go into the sea, I am terrified;
Could this be my last day? Will this be the day they said "Peter foolishly died?!"
As I wallow in my defeat I begin to cry out to the LORD, "Save me!"
I'm sinking my hands barely peeking out from the cruel cold sea.

All seemed lost but suddenly, my hand is grasped and I am saved!
The Savior came through and lifted me above the wave.
My hero only smiled and said, "You of little faith. Why did you doubt?"

He knew I'd go out there, he knew I would listen,
they say I am brash, easily angered and ill tempered.
The others didn't go out there that day, they didn't trust.
I may have had little faith but that day it was more than enough.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17

On Account of My own Evils, My Guilt, and My Shame
- By Lowanla (me)

I know I am no pure angel,
nor am I innocent, nor are my own hands clean,

If it came time and I was confronted by my past evils,
by those who wanted to put me down in shame and guilt,
I would not be afraid to admit they were true once.
I was not a good person in my past,

But keeping this truth within me only hurts me,
its also hurting those around me,
so I must share it with everyone,

I was not a good person..

I can only hope that this brings hope to those
who felt the same guilt and shame as me.
I want you to know that you also can be forgiven
and be made new, you can have peace,
and be loved the way you truly want.

My answer would be this...

I was lost, I was alone, I was afraid, I only knew chaos, I knew suffering.
There was no meaning I was barely alive.

Until God threw a miracle in my path, (although this particular
miracle feels more like a stone at my head, j/k :p)
It caused me to turn from my own selfishness,
and notice someone else beside myself.
It made me pray for him, even though at first
I thought God would not hear my prayers,
he did, and he's still answering them today!

God is my Judge, and he is who I put my trust in.

I would rather take Jesus over this world
Jesus, who has made me a better person,
whole complete and loved,
than to remain in a dying world with no hope.

Jesus is the only hope.

If this is the only hope why not take this hope?

It is better to know the past is gone, and that
even though he was truly without sin he still chose
to take our place so that you could have a bright future ahead of you.

wouldn't it be better to know that your name
is written in the Lambs book of life?

This life is but a short breath,

a flower fading, and soon this world will be gone.

It is better to know that we can be forgiven by God,
and that he casts our sins into the sea of forgetfulness, and he remembers them no more,
and gives us that second chance.

It is better to know that you have a chance

to live eternally with God who loves you,
who desires to make you whole, heal you, and change your
life for the better.

What he can do for me, he can and will do for you too.

I am forgiven and you can be too.

That is my answer.

I'm glad you liked it :) It actually wasn't about salvation,
it was about popsicles <------ Overt trolling just to prove Siberian_Khatru wrong
but it was about something else I had on my mind a lot the past few days. I came to the thread just to read, like normal, but that just kind of came spilling out.

I think this is the first time I've posted in this thread, but I should say how much I enjoy having it here, and I'm glad you decided to come back to the site.

Ohh lol XD (I'm embarrassed..hehe)

Well, from an outsiders point of view it sort of does look like a salvation poem, but it could be taken
many ways and directions. It's very awesome, thankyou for sharing your thoughts with us, they are always welcome here.

Thanks! Its good to be back. Only my name changed, like I was Gandolf the Grey turned Gandolf the White, J/K (my lame attempt at humor) lol XD

Beautiful Things
Lyrics by: Gungor

Gungor "Beautiful Things" - YouTube

All this pain..
I wonder if I'll ever find my way.
I wonder if my life could really change, at all.
All this earth..

Could all that is lost ever be found?
Could a garden come up from this ground, at all?

You make beautiful things,
You make beautiful things out of dust.
You make beautiful things,
You make beautiful things out of us.

All around,
Hope is springin up from this old ground.
Out of chaos, life is being found in You.

You make me new,
You are making me new.
You make me new,
You are making me new. (making me new.)

Noooooo, don't be embarrassed! I think you're right, it does look like it could be about salvation. It's not your fault that I was so vague. :)

I thought you were Lovesong all along, and I'm very glad I was right. :D

Its'all good, I nearly named myself Agape, which translates into The God Kind of Love, but
I think someone has that name already.

So I had this name instead and it worked out.

The way I came back trying to pretend like I wasn't me, was kind of funny in a lame kind of way,
as I was saying before, I wanted to at least keep my name by my poems so I just admitted
I was Lovesong again. I just laugh at myself when I go back and read it. XD lol

Argh I wish they had delete or edit buttons that lasted longer than 5 minutes, to where
you could change edit or delete whenever you wanted or needed.
There are so many grammar errors in my poems that I've done that I'd like to go back and fix.

but I must suffer the consequences. Oh Well.
:p lol

For hope, to heal, restore, I'll rush in, because its the right thing to do..

Fools Rush In
Lyrics by: Mercer/Bloom
Sung by: Frank Sinatra

Fools rush in
Where angels fear to tread
And so I come to you my love
My heart above my head
Though I see
... The danger there
If there's a chance for me
Then I don't care
Fools rush in
Where wise men never go
But wise men never fall in love
So how are they to know
When we met
I felt my life begin
So open up your heart and let
This fool rush in

Sonnet 116
Poem by: William Shakespeare

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wandering bark,

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come:

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

The worst type of Love
- by Lowanla (me)

Its the loneliest and most painful.
Its A rejection of flesh and desires.
Its A denial of self and the right thing to do.
Its unpopular and rare to most.
Its the love of the few, who lay their life down.
So that ALL the others can have a future.
They can have more hope so they can live again.

My guy, I'm sorry I let you down.
Its worth it all, for you.
It wasn't for nothing.
