Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. - 2 Corinthians 5:17
On Account of My own Evils, My Guilt, and My Shame
- By Lowanla (me)
I know I am no pure angel,
nor am I innocent, nor are my own hands clean,
If it came time and I was confronted by my past evils,
by those who wanted to put me down in shame and guilt,
I would not be afraid to admit they were true once.
I was not a good person in my past,
But keeping this truth within me only hurts me,
its also hurting those around me,
so I must share it with everyone,
I was not a good person..
I can only hope that this brings hope to those
who felt the same guilt and shame as me.
I want you to know that you also can be forgiven
and be made new, you can have peace,
and be loved the way you truly want.
My answer would be this...
I was lost, I was alone, I was afraid, I only knew chaos, I knew suffering.
There was no meaning I was barely alive.
Until God threw a miracle in my path, (although this particular
miracle feels more like a stone at my head, j/k )
It caused me to turn from my own selfishness,
and notice someone else beside myself.
It made me pray for him, even though at first
I thought God would not hear my prayers,
he did, and he's still answering them today!
God is my Judge, and he is who I put my trust in.
I would rather take Jesus over this world
Jesus, who has made me a better person,
whole complete and loved,
than to remain in a dying world with no hope.
Jesus is the only hope.
If this is the only hope why not take this hope?
It is better to know the past is gone, and that
even though he was truly without sin he still chose
to take our place so that you could have a bright future ahead of you.
wouldn't it be better to know that your name
is written in the Lambs book of life?
This life is but a short breath,
a flower fading, and soon this world will be gone.
It is better to know that we can be forgiven by God,
and that he casts our sins into the sea of forgetfulness, and he remembers them no more,
and gives us that second chance.
It is better to know that you have a chance
to live eternally with God who loves you,
who desires to make you whole, heal you, and change your
life for the better.
What he can do for me, he can and will do for you too.
I am forgiven and you can be too.
That is my answer.
