NO..when we lose the right to bear arms, we are no longer citizens but subjects.
Those who would trade freedom for safety(there is no safety on this world) deserve neither.
I have used firearms since I was six years old and I have never shot anyone or threatened
anyone. People are afraid of themselves so they want to be controled although I will admit
that some people have no business with a dull knife much less a firearm much the same as
some people have no business with a vehicle.

I love my guns, ammunition is expensive but there is nothing quite like going out to the middle of nowhere and setting up some targets, aiming small and missing small. It's very fun indeed. Something people should note when thinking about banning firearms. There are gun smugglers, there are many criminals in fact with guns that are completely illegal today as it is (Fully automatic weapons and such). If you legally ban guns, you just take the guns away from the law abiding citizen. Make no mistake about it, the criminals will keep theirs, the law hasn't stopped them from anything, and never will.

Right Deadtosin, The only people to have guns will be the criminals and the government henchmen.
This isnt about stopping the criminals. This is about controling americans and making us into subjects
of some petty dictator. More tunnels leading from mexico into USA, even more elaborate than the
ones previously found and they were all stocked with drugs and illegal weapons. Fed agents cant
even use lethal force anymore. Whats up with that.

Not as many firearms here as in the US, here's an outsiders view:

If I am not mistaken, a majority of peple shot in their own home are shot with their own firearm

People always say "I need to be able to defend my family". But if it was more difficult to get a firearm in the first place, the chance of your family getting threatened with one would also be lower....

I will never, ever have a gun in my house.

Lets imagine I had one:
1 If a get threatened by someone with one, he/ she will shoot before me anyway, as I will hesitate
2 If I threaten somene all I do is agitate them and they will be MORE dangerous
3 I would hate myself for the rest of my life if I shot anyone

You said to correct you if you are wrong so consider yourself corrected.
I can only surmise that you woud not defend your family from harm in your home?
The following verse means provision in all areas, not just shelter, clothing, food. It also means safety.
If there be any that provideth not for his own, and namely for them of his household,
he denieth the faith, and is worse then an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8

Did the people who traveled with Jesus carry weapons? Yes they did.

a gun is nothing more than a tool that fires projectiles. It is already harder to get a legal gun than an illegal one. I can go down the street right now and buy a handgun for $100. It cannot be traced because it was either stolen or used in a crime. Do you think criminals spend $600 for a gun that can be traced? no, they can spend 200 and get a fully automatic AK 47. P.S. our constitution says we can all bear arms, because when we fought for our freedom it was largely the U.S. civilians (not just military) who fought the war, then again in the civil war. We have rights to protect our family, our property our nation and our way of life. I for one have seen way to much crime not to believe that I should be allowed to keep a firearm safely stored in my home and teach my family proper respect for the "tool" that is a gun. If I hear glass break in my home at 2 AM and my wife is sleeping next to me and our son is down the hallway. You better believe that I'm willing to use deadly force to protect my loves. I already have plans to teach my children how to respond to ANY strange or alarming noises in the night, like hide under their beds until Mother, me or the police department comes to get them. Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Saviour, but you know what? I am His hands. When I was a child I was nearly kidnapped twice, my father beat my mother, and I lived in a very large city. Crime and fear was everywhere, I made a deal with God as a child, I knew it took a beast to stop a beast and as a child I was completely vulnerable, I told God that if He always made sure there was a beast to stop whatever beast that threatened me that when I was bigger I"d become that beast for others. I have kept up my end of the bargain to this day, I am not willing to lose ANYONE who cannot properly protect themselves (including my family) just because someone thinks legal guns are dangerous. Its the illegal ones we've got to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I throw knives, machetes, axes, and screw drivers very accurately, but I'm not taking a screw driver to a gun fight unless I have too. God has blessed me in providing me amazing amounts of combat training, more than I could have ever acquired myself. It was not all for nothing, this is a dangerous world and we shouldn't sit idly by and let the weak and innocent fall victim to the unmercifully violent hands of evil men. I know this sounds like a rant but I have another letter I would really rather be writing :) God bless.

In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia[1][2] and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.

Amendment II A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

the second amendment is stating two things, and this is why it went to court because it could be read different ways.

first it is saying A well regulated Militia, is necessary

second it says " the right of the people to keep and bear Arms."

here in the U.S it is "we the people"

It doesnt matter what is written. It was written over 200 years ago. The court now intreprets these documents now help decide how it was originally meant. Thats just how things happen.

Which it precisely why it is our(the peoples) ongoing responsibility to ensure that liberal interpretation of the 2nd amendment isnt continuously nor erroneously mis-interpreted from its original purpose.
keep the originally intended interpretation straight in order to keep our freedoms secured

By the people and For the people.
We also constitutionally, have a right to protect ourselves from the tyranny of our own government.
The government doesnt like that, so they try to disarm the law abiding populous to lead America away from what it was originally founded upon. Freedom, and instead toward more of a dictatorship form of govt.
If guns become outlawed, make no mistake, it will only be outlaws who own them, and they will.
A law abiding citizen owning one evens the playing field.
Statistically as well regions of the U.S. where a normal citizen can carry have lower crime rates from the simple fact that it is common knowledge that most people including ladies are armed, and rightly so.

Ive trained several people to shoot a pistol who have never owned nor picked up a pistol.
After just a general safety lesson and some basic knowledge of how a firearm operates as well as getting some range time on some targets they also find the thrill of how relaxing and enjoyable it is to just shoot a firearm for fun.
Its almost like outlawing pocket knives because someone could be stabbed.
Its the person behind the gun, not the gun.
As far as those having accidental discharges in the home or elsewhere,
there are farrrrrrr more car accidents from complacent drivers who have a license to operate a motor vehicle.
With farrr more devestating results upon people as well as property from such automotive accidents.
Should we take away cars because of all the drunk or negligent drivers.?
No, its training and practice and knowledge which prevents accidents.
Owning and knowing how to properly operate a firearm is a responsibility just the same as owning and driving a car is.

Dont give up your rights just because you dont use them, Others need those rights, and some day one may change their mind.
I personally have a right to carry a weapon but I rarely do. Although I like to have that option, for just such emergencies.
And yes I immediately grab a pistol whenever something is a-rye on my property.
Not because I intend or want to shoot any person, I prefer never to have to, but I certainly wont allow or stand by while someone may wish to forcefully invade the privacy and sanctity of my own home nor would I stand idly by only to allow anyone to shoot at myself nor my family.
Theres also a law against things such as unlawful search and seizure.
A firearm also evens the playing field to ensure this just in case our govt. gets a little too bold for its own good.
But as a christian I'll certainly pray for any person who wishes to challenge these unalienable rights which are protected by the supreme law of the land.
The constitution, which many people seem to forget, including local courts that federal law over rides state law.

My definition of gun control is hitting the desired target
