Another of our "jobs" as believers is to complete the sufferings of Christ.
Are you sure you didn't mean to use a different word?

All that Christ did, He completed Himself. He did not leave anything for us to finish or make complete. He did it all - for us - "all by Himself"...

("All of His work was finished and completed at His resurrection.")

Has everyone notice that mental disability is on the rise.
As are many other things, like autism and autistic tendencies.
There is a "hidden" reason for all of this - stemming directly from "the work of Satan" -- it is not "demon possession" (in the 'victim'), but it definitely "comes from the devil" (Satan)...

Have you ever looked up the traits of someone that is possessed? It is the same as bipolar.
Okay. I’m starting to understand your point, but you are still generalizing the bipolar population based on what you’ve observed in your few bipolar acquaintances. And you’re ignoring medical facts… You say, "The way I see it, X, Y, or Z is physical," when factually, X, Y, or Z is mental.

Hmm. Your argument is non sequitur. Here’s how.

You state that demonic possession looks like bipolar, and bipolar looks like demonic possession. Same thing to you. Demonic possession=bipolar disorder. A=B.

Let’s take a look at the site that explained signs of demonic possession, which I gathered from all the sites you listed. Here are all the signs that don’t have to be present in a person to diagnose him/her with bipolar disorder:

Note: These sites also said to make sure that these symptoms are not due to mood disorders (like bipolar) before you label someone possessed.

1) Embarrassment, shame, or guilt due to uncontrollable behavior (Btw. Anyone can be embarrassed if they acted out of personality. As a matter of fact, lack of embarrassment/shame/guilt of such behavior might indicate other mental disorders.)
2) Auditory/olfactory experiences
3) Amnesia
4) Glossolalia, xenoglossia, polyglossia, polyglossic vocals
5) Confusion
6) Sacred aversions
7) Retrocognition or precognition
8) Rreternatural occurrences
9) Constipation
10) Unnatural power of persuasion

Not quite the same. In fact, the only symptom of bipolar that has to be present for diagnosis that match the signs of demonic possession is severe mood changes—for a bipolar person, the cycling between mania and depression. Every other “demonic sign,” such as violence, lust, profane language, etc., is unique to the bipolar individual. Not every bipolar person acts violently or swears excessively when depressed, or acts promiscuously or greedily during periods of mania. For my bipolar and CHRISTIAN friend, when she is low, it’s severe depression, like she’s mourning. She just wants solitude. In her manic states, she exercises excessively and even gets others motivated to go on her annoyingly long jogs. She is way more optimistic of the world, which is not unhealthy or demonic at all. With the right diet, social stimulation, and medication, she has typical emotional stability.

The Bible shows some examples of people who have convulsions, are crippled, or cannot speak because of the demons inside them. None of those Bible explanations are included in the links you provided (at least the ones I saw), with the exception of uncontrollable behavior, which could include convulsions. I know of no bipolar people that have convulsions, or are crippled or mute.

Does A still = B when it only shares one true symptom? A person suffering a grand mal seizure would share more symptoms off your “list of signs that possessed and bipolar hold in common”, than bipolar people themselves, if you wave a flashing cross in front of the poor person. Schizophrenics can experience many more of those symptoms daily, but I don't think you ever said that they were possessed. That makes you argument kind of shaky, my friend.

In any case, I think we will just have to agree to disagree. =)

In Christ,
River

I’m telling you the people I know and the people that have been on this thread either have experience these things personally or witness them. I can dig them out of the post if needed. They range from eating disorders, to constipation, anger, confusion, can’t sleep so even if I’m a little off base I’m not far. All signs of DEMONIC OPRESSION / POSSESSION

The Problem seems like most are worried about that all category.

Do you believe we are living at the end times?

Perhaps you were referring to the idea conveyed by this verse???:

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. ~ 2 Timothy 3:12

LOL! Good catch, Gary. :) My muddled brain was confusing the wording of Col. 1:24, which, in I don't know what translation my one Gram taught me as " I undergo whatever is needed to make the sorrows of Christ complete..." And my other Gram taught ...: filling up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ...". How blessed I was to have 2 such grandmothers...it was my own poor cognitive abilities at fault. Not to mention my laziness! I should have gotten my Bible. :)

Thanks for that insightful correction. In my Bible the verse reads,

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

And you know I didn't mean job, right. It's a privilege. ♥

No offense, Ellie - but, you have a corrupted bible version...

("That verse is just full of error.")

Give me a little time - and I will follow up this post with another explaining why I say this. (Or, perhaps, I should start another thread?)

And you know I didn't mean job, right. It's a privilege. ♥
Good point...

I found the solution to ALL sickness.... Look here!....
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

One thing I know about Jesus is: What He says He will do, HE WILL DO. So there is NO sickness incurable in His eyes! All you need is FAITHFUL ELDERS and a bottle of oil!

Lord forgive me for my impatience, and Lord please give me some brothers to love! Amen!

What a wonderful healing this is, even clears the sin score-sheet.

Mental Disorders such as Bipolar Disorders and Depression have nothing to do with demons and all to do with Chemistry and Science. You can ask a doctor or a psychologist. According to MayoClinic, It is caused by Biological differences as far as physical changes in the brain. Also neurotransmitters in the brain play a significant role too. Imbalanced hormones can trigger Bipolar Disorder, it could be inherited, and environment could play a role. There is no medical or scientific proof that people with Bipolar Disorder or mental illnesses are "demon possessed" Also as far as depression according to MayoCllinic, causes are pretty similar. I do however believe in scientific and medical research and laboratory analysis to be far more truth than over someone's flawed and twisted interpretation and manipulation of scripture who falsely links mental disorders with demonic possession.

Sicknesses and diseases are all part of living in this broken world.

I think this disorder is due to a chemical imbalance in the brain? I don't believe this is the result of demonic influence or possession. If it were would you be saying that the majority of illnesses are?

I think that schizophrenia is demonic. Many of those people claim to hear demonic voices.

I remeber one particular woman. She was VERY sick and went to all the best clinics nd doctors. Her friends advized her too! Then one day she said... If only I can touch that Man called Jesus. Or even if I can only touch the hemn of His garment. So she crawled through people that stepped on her and kicked her for there were a great crowd around the Master of ALL. But she sailed like a possessed and then she saw the robe. She reached forward and touched the seam.... WHOLLA!!!! She was healed.

Wonder what would happen if a sick could tuch again the seam of Jesus today? Man if only I was an elder that had faith! Or if we sould even get Paul's robe, that robe healed many sick, wonder where it is today? Would Jesus still heal people today? Or is the healing time gone? Seems like there is just about a powder or chemical for anything. Is there a pill for FAITH?

Would there be pills if all the elders were FAITHFUL? Would there be doctors if we all wee little Jesus'? Ah where is the ...LAy on hands and they were healed.

Yes, He does. I was healed last year when I was on an abandoned road in the middle of nowhere and not close to a hospital for help. I was suffering from severe dehydration (lack of water) and in a terrible state (in the past this happened and I almost went into a coma). I was a backsliding Christian at this time but reached out to Him for the first time in years and had FAITH :). He took it away instantly. Amazing. This is what brought me back to God as it happens :)
