A lot of people do. I can even agree with it, since at the very least, it does show some history and historical items. It goes along with the theme. I got sick of it after I realized it was just extremely dramatized for no reason, along with my strong dislike of pawn shops (they rip you off no matter what, which always surprises me why these people bring rare, museum quality items to a pawn shop?). I guess that's why they are located in Vegas. People want quick cash after they lose their home in the blackjack table.
I've never been to the store myself, but I know people who have, and it is pretty much just a small, normal pawn shop. The pawn "stars" are never there, unless they are filming, and the majority of items they get only come so people can be on television (as if they don't rehearse everything beforehand too).
Anyway, I can stomach Pawn Stars. I can't stomach Nostradamus, or especially ancient astronaut theory shows. That guy David Icky is mentally insane, and there are no actual facts to back any of the shows up. I could understand if it was a theory with legitimate evidence, but there are none beyond wild speculation, using references that have nothing to do with the subject matter. It's just bad science with bad scholars.
I used to respect them when they had those biblical shows, even the apocrypha ones. I could even respect them if they still showed them side-by-side with the ancient astronaut, Nostradamus, and evolutionary things. It's one of the reasons they used to stand out.
What I believe happened is the production managers were changed, and the history channel moved toward entertainment of the masses (aka: unintellectual crowd), which brings ratings, rather than the minority intellectual things they used to show. That must be why they created History Channel 2 or whatever it's called (I don't have the channel), to cater to the old crowd?
