Cobus - well said and I agree with your points to the most part. I think God wants some of us to be sick so that through sickness or other hardship we glorifies Him. God builds our character through our hardship and weaknesses.

In some cases, we do not understand why a person remains sick and died from an illness. Some children were born with illness (mental or physical) very unfortunately. They are sick not because they (or their parents) are lack of faith - and most likely we won't understand why they are sick because we do not understand fully what God does. However, we understand that God has a purpose in all things that He does, and that He has the best plan for all of us because he loves us.

For thirty years a man had to be blind so that Jesus could heal him and then Jesus and this man and his parents were in BIG troubles with the CHURCH of that time. The Church was very upset that Jesus healed this man.... And they tried there best to discredit Jesus for the work, but the young man of around 30 years persisted.... The man called JESUS healed me... Great chapter to read in the Bible. Just shows you what holy works can do, and how the world HATES it!

The world will always hatet he righteouss, God said...... His kingdom is not from here, if it was then His people would have fought for it, but they do not!

Just wanted to add these for documentation 9/9/12. I believe it's going to get worse

Witnesses say the two had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms before the attack and believed they were involved in a struggle between God and the devil.

With a yell of “God is here, I’m going to repent,” a woman swung a butcher knife Wednesday afternoon at someone inside Teen Challenge at 3333 Philips Highway, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
She next stabbed a table before stripping down and attacking two cars. She had chased children with the blade before a Taser stopped her rampage, police said.

I’m going to be crying for the next four years,” he said. “What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. … The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance.” — Rev. Jesse Jackson Jr.

Well, there is a difference between saying demons can cause bipolar disorder and claiming that all with bipolar disorders are possessed ;)

Even Paul had a thorn in his side, we all have our struggles at one point or another and some more than others. I think God wants us to use that time to seek Him and draw near as He will draw near to us. Trial and tribulation work patience; patience, experience; and experience, hope.

Hope in who or what? Hope and faith in Jesus Christ and the promises of God, that we might be saved by grace through our faith and be called children of God. We can also have hope and faith that whatever ails us, whether it be psychological or spiritual, that God's power is infinite and with Him; NOTHING shall be impossible.

Can you tell a person that ask the lord into their heart to be their lord and savior, that believes in the death, burial, and resurrection, that repents their sins and ask the lord to make them what he wants them to be that they are saved?

Isn't that what preachers do. They say if you prayed that then you have changed your everlasting salvation.

The Lord tells us to test the spirit. What are we tested it from? To see if they are of GOD.

I believe that most of the above individuals have no idea what Demon possession really is (outside of some dogmatic and easily duplicated symptomology) and what Bipolar is. Frankly it frightens me the efforts of amateurs trying to diagnose such things remotely, you all need to give it up to those who are professionals.

Yes there is some slight connectedness of symptoms but it goes much deeper than simply calling Bipolar, possession. If by some rare chance you really did come upon someone who was truly possessed your lives would be in danger due to your total lack of common sense. Bipolar is easily treated with ordinary drugs prescribed by ordinary doctors and it behooves us all NOT to jump to conclusions. Society used to think that all mental disease was demon possession and we know better now.

For those who are serious yes in fact there is such a thing as demon possession but it is extremely rare and it has profoundly more serious symptoms than the typical Bipolar victim. You cannot "spit out" demons, that is as phony as a $3 bill.

If it is then it is --So glad we got that out the way.

Now we have to look for a reason it would be something besides demonic.

I'm saying that everyone I have met doesn't believe in GOD. Doesn't accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior, Doesn’t believe he is the only way, don’t believe in death, burial, and resurrection, Don't believe in repentance, and so on. So when that happens then I say it falls more to demonic naturel then not.

Do you know what statistic generalization is (in contrast to generalization)?

How many people have you met that had these opinions AND were bipolar?
How many did you meet that had them and were NOT bipolar?
(IOW: Indicators caused by something else)
If there are more of theese than the ones being bipolar it is starting to rule out your theory.
How many can you PROVE were possessed?

moment of faith, I want to caution you to be very careful in what you speak to here.
To say those with bypolar or other mental illness is posessed by a demon is not only judgemental, but can be injurious.
Mental illness is not separate from any physical illness, all illness is simply that , illness.
Now yes, these things do come because sin entered the would, but not all are the result of sin, as spoken to in Jn 8: 1-6.
Scripture speaks to sometimes these things are from one's own sin, sometimes the sins of the father, sometimes because sin entered the world, and sometimes to glorify God.
We do know, that Jesus when healing did rebuke some demons , but Jesus also forgave many of their sins also, and some Jesus spoke to , to glorify God the Father, and some that they were healed because of their faith.
I want to caution you because your blanket statement about all being of demons is simply judgmental and wrong.
Most illness is simply do to an imbalence or health need, and many are treated and helped or cured.
As to those that are oppressed or possessed, one can disern if they have this gift in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
But do not speak to these things without understanding.
I once, when young, was judging just as you are here, and was chastized by God Our Father.
When God said, judge not lest you be judged, He was serious, and will correct one in this.
One cannot speak to who is or not possesed in a blanket judgement, but I garrentee you , that when one has confronted true possession, it leaves no doubt, and humbles one before God aware of just how presious His love and protection is.
I hope that you recieve this in the love of Jesus given, not because of argument , but simply because I once spoke as you have here, and was greatly humbled before God.
Jesus said, keep your eyes on me.
There is not greater witness or work of love, than in faith, to live and look always in all one does, to Jesus, so that the fruits of His love may be poured out upon all.

in Jesus, God bless

I'm throwing the question out and I'm telling everyone by my experience that every bipolar person I have ran into doesn't accept Jesus as their lord and savior or if they do then it's after they were diagnosed and then on top of that they usually have some strange version on the gospel.

Now that's all I can do is tell you what I have found. I'm asking, I'm looking for more evidence, but no one here provides any. They just tell me I’m wrong and if you go back over this thread you will see by the people who have responded that I’m right.

About 95% of the people who have responded fit in those categories. So you tell me

Then the last 4 examples I provided – Do you believe any of those to accept Jesus as their lord and savior. One was playing god and the devil and it doesn’t say who was who but one of them ended up with their heart cut out. So did the god or the devil win that round? Then Simon thought he was some vampire and said he was fighting demons, the lady said god was on his way and she repents but picked up a knife and tried cutting people and jesse Jackson jr went crazy after saying that we needed to add another chapter to the bible for Obama.

So again you tell me.

I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings -- I asking questions and it seems to be a tough one.

What about paranoid schizophrenia? Which is linked to bi-polar disorder.
Here are some traits on this illness.

Paranoid
schizophrenics are prone to delusions, tales in which random events become deeply meaningful. Some believe in complex conspiracies; others think they are Jesus Christ.

schizophrenics have too much
dopamine. Just as addicts' desensitized dopamine systems make them feel that nothing matters, high levels of the neurotransmitter make schizophrenics believe that everything is significant.

Now.. what is a conspiracy theorist?

A Conspiracy Theorist devises conspiracy theories, which are a type of beliefs where one [attributes] the ultimate cause of an event or chain of events (usually political, social or historical events), or the concealment of such causes from public knowledge, to a secret and often deceptive plot by a group of powerful or influential people or organizations ((1). This is similar to the symptom of Idea of Reference (or referential thinking) in Schizophrenia.

Signs of paranioa:

* Be easily offended
* Find it difficult to trust others
* Not cope with any type of criticism
* Assign harmful meanings to other people?s remarks
* Be always on the defensive
* Be hostile, aggressive and argumentative
* Not be able to compromise
* Find it difficult, if not impossible, to ?forgive and forget?
* Assume that people are talking ill of them behind their back
* Be overly suspicious ? for example, think that other people are lying or scheming to cheat them
* Not be able to confide in anyone
* Find relationships difficult
* Consider the world to be a place of constant threat
* Feel persecuted by the world at large
* Believe in unfounded ?conspiracy theories?.

Anyway, it looks to me that people who spend alot of time trying to find secret agendas and people everywhere are secretly evil seem to have an issue with schizophrenia.

Examples.... believing there is an evil reptilian race.
Believing Obama is the antichrist.
Believing America is the center of the universe, and trying to fit the country in to bible prophecy.

Anyway, moment_of_faith...with all sincerity.. Are you mentally ill or possessed?

619 -- It never hurts to question anyone. The lord told us to test the spirit. The only thing I see that you did wrong is not research a little yourself. If you would have looked around Christian Chat you would have seen several times I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

You would see I believe this way or that way but I ask for opinions and welcome all responses - Including yours even though most are very combative always wanting me to stop posting.

Saying I'm flooding Christian Chat but never posting anything really herself.

Emailing the Mods in attempt to have them to shut me down when I see others with some pretty strange beliefs themselves and some who are very opinionated.

619 – As I have told you several times now you opinion is welcomed on my threads and I pray the Lord Jesus Christ blesses you, but I will leave you with this.

Does the Devil want to shut down a lie or the TRUTH

Luke 6:22 What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. 23 When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.
