Yeah, but your interpretation is not always the correct one.

I agree and I have had to be taught by many different pastors and elders over the years especially because I became a christian at the age of fourteen and my parents were nonchristians...it is good to be open to teaching and to accept rebuke when you get it wrong and to learn and grow..rather than stagnate and die..I was corrected yesterday when I called sin a curse..really we come under God's curse of death because we have sinned...a simple little mistake like that can lead someone off the path of the narrow way so you have to be very careful what you say regarding God's word...people who try to teach others come under harsher judgement than those who are not called to teach and who simply walk in step with the Lord

I've read Genesis 1 and 2 many times, trust me, my interpretation does not in any way contradict the Bible.

maybe christianity and evolution could mix. God created Adam and Eve and eden, but what if their was another secies that is extinct now but lived then. simiar to us maybe?
I believe in creation though. those fossils probably have to do with some kind of deceit by Satan. That would be one of my best guesses. after all, he allways wants to lead us away. what kills me is that theyre allways teaching it in school! just skip the stupid unit on evolution and start on the cells or world history already. it not like its really important to the rest of the year anyway. arrrgh! :(

To be perfectly honest, I think the whole subject is a mixture of stupidity, ignorance and misinformation. No matter how much evidence there will be for evolution. There'll always be a group of people who believe in literal 6 day creation and talking snakes hook, line and sinker.
'ignorance and misinformation' I agree
Who here is really qualified right?

Does every topic here have to be christian in nature? Maybe we should prosecute scientists as heretics again?
Though I agree this is the 'Christian Teens Forum'

yes I ran across this while browsing, this is a Christian forum and something aimed at our young people, so yes, the threads should be of a Christian nature, and this thread does not belong here, all of us who are older it is our responsibility to make sure they these teens are receiving the right teachings of God, not promoting things which aren't of a christian nature, if this was a class teaching teens at your church, would you permit this?

Teaching what? To discuss things they are taught in school with a critical mind, then absolutely I would permit it. And encourage and support it too!

While I'll be the first one to say macro-evolution and creation can't coincide I don't think it should be a necessarily divisive issue. And to say evolution isn't a Christian topic would be worse than saying sin isn't a Christian topic. It's a modern issue causing many Christians to reconsider their beliefs and as such should be addressed in Christian forums even more than other topics in my opinion.

I do think believing macro-evolution is a slippery slope but it doesn't mean those that have a slightly different interpretation are automatically not Christian. I hope that we can all have productive conversation in Love. We can't change peoples minds but we can educate. The facts don't change regardless of interpretation.

You don't BELIEVE in evolution, you accept as a scientific fact (or not). We BELIEVE in Jesus Christ and in God who created the heavens and the earth. My choice would be: NO, i don't ACCEPT evolution as a scientific fact.

i wish i would've bit my tongue and held my silence really, for the lack of knowledge in certain areas of evolution, i didn't even know there was micro/macro.

Personally, I don't see evolution as an answer to the "how did we get here?" question. In my opinion, it requires more faith than creationism does.

I only have one question to the 34-35% of you who agree with evolution; "How can you tie evolution to your Christian beliefs?" I don't see how someone can deny that a Divine being created the universe, but still follow the doctrine that God did so (Genesis 1:1).Or maybe some of you do agree with the Word of God, I have one question for you; "Why are you on a Christian Chat website?"

Evolution does not deal with 'how did we get here' in the chemical to biological transition. If you mean how did life arise on earth then you must look at the big bang theory and Abiogenesis. Evolution explains the origin of species by means of natural selection it's quite different. It wouldn't be a theory if it needed faith.

I'm not a christian but I can see evolution and christianity being reconciled it just depends on the interpretation.
