I found this lost sock trying to hitch a ride. When I asked what he was doing, he told me he was going to play soccer (fooball) in sock land, (which apparently is somewhere near iceland). He said he had been training really hard and was an expert at the step over manoeuvre.

I have conducted extensive research on the issue of lost socks and what happens to them. My findings are as follows. Some socks are simply misplaced. These are the ones that are often later found. However, sometimes other people take another's socks for various reasons I shall not go into. They may or may not return them.
Finally, there is the matter of lost socks which no one took yet somehow disappeared. I've used various homemade devices to investigate this phenomena and what I have discovered is that an army of gremlins are responsible. They are almost impossible to detect except for one tried and true method of detecting them. If you have believe you may have been the victim of a gremlin sock swiping sneak thief, my advice is to clip a tracking device to the sock and then leave it out in plain sight. If the sock disappears, activate the tracking device and odds are you will find the gremiln.

Fed up with losing your socks or struggling to pair them together? One company may be able to solve these problems for you thanks to clever usage of on RFID chip and a mobile app.
The company Blacksocks has created a system for tracking your socks among piles of laundry and pairing them together using a mobile application. The system works thanks to RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips embedded in pairs of specially created Italian-made "smart socks" known as Plus+, a specially created "Sock Sorter" and a iPhone app.
When a user receives their Plus+ socks they first pair the socks together using the "Sock Sorter;" afterwards the "Sock Sorter" device can track the socks and allows the user to find them in a pile of laundry with ease.

The app also contains a "Blackometer" which uses the iPhone's camera to measure how black, or how faded, the Smart Socks are, users can also use the app to order more Smart Socks from Blacksocks.

I have no idea I heard about it on K love, they had a good laugh about it, it needs to be setup so your phone goes off if they try and leave the property there is also a device that lets you track your keys from your phone, and your phone from your keys, if they get separated over a certain distance both go off
