I don't know where else to post this, so I'm posting it here. If it isn't the right place, then I appologize.

I don't know what to make of this forum anymore. Recently, I've been told that if I eat pork that I don't love God and I'm not saved, I've been told you have to follow the laws to be saved, and that you have to earn your salvation. A professing Christian repeatedly demanded that I drink poison in order to prove the Bible to him, and when I refused and pointed out he was using scripture against me the way Satan did to Jesus in Luke 4, he denied and continues to demand that I drink poison, then says if I don't, then I am not a Christian and I don't believe the Bible.

Why is this stuff allowed to go on here? Why are false teachers allowed to run rampant and tear down other Christians like this? I've never met or seen anyone from the moderation staff. I don't know why this is allowed to go on.

Perhaps I'll look for another Christian forum, or perhaps not, I don't know. I am already a moderator for another Christian chat room. I just can't put up with this stuff much longer.

Well Megaman, it's sort of a catch-22. This site has been accused of banning people too swiftly, and also of being to lax in banning people. You can't please all the people all the time. If someone commits heresy, it is a reportable offense. I don't know if you reported anything you were told, but the mods can't keep up with everything. I hope you don't let a few people run you off. I am really sorry that you have been told this and I am praying that God will send someone to help you get through this. these things you have been told are so fake...I cant even see how a christian could ever say such things. whoever said such things, esoecually about the poisen has the whole thing mixed up. Jesus refused the things Satan offered, even when Satan tried to "prove with scripture" therefore u would be in Jesus' position and the other person n Satan's. please stay ar cc, there are many good people to outnumber the bad who would love to help u. u could also report these people to a moderator and get them on your "ignore" list on the control panel.

Obviously, you can eat pork while simultaneously loving God and be saved. Obviously, you don't have to follow every man-made law or adhere to legalism or a cult's theology to be saved. Obviously drinking poison to "prove" the Bible goes against the Bible (e.g. Matthew 4:7 for example) not to mention the advice of many godly mothers that insist if another jumps off a cliff you should not.

There are many confused, deceived, and wicked people in the world. Sometimes, they make their way here.

It's recorded in John 17:14-16, that Jesus prayed for us (e.g. Christ's genuine disciples) in the following manner:

"I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one." -NKJ

Are you trying to create a world that is perfect or be perfected in Christ (Matthew 5:48) in this world... the world you find yourself in?

When you grow to find yourself influencing others toward truth (including the confused, deceived, and wicked), rather than being defeated by them: your "faith" will truly be overcoming the world.

They obviously have a dark agenda so don't you get mixed up with them by replying to their stupidity and foolishness!

Just continue to post as you normally do, if you feel so led, and we will all be praying for you but again, simply collect what they are telling you and send it to the Admin. and/or Moderator for their immediate attention. And since they are suggesting you do something illegal that could potentially be deadly the Police may also have an interest in their postings, which is something to seriously think about and consider! I Sure Hope You STAY!

Usually, the ignore list just means I can't see posts by those people, but they can see and still respond to mine, and I'll get a little message at the bottom of the screen saying that I'm ignoring X number of posts on this page.

I'm not the one that needs the prayer the most right now, it's those that persist in those false teachings.

Don't worry about me. My faith is not shaken. I know what I believe, and I stand firm in my faith. I have my own Christian website, which has gotten many compliments from Christians and non-Christians alike.

I'm just worn out by this on an emotional level.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I still don't know if I'm going to leave here or not. I looked around at some other Christian forums, and they were all either way too big with way too many subforums, or the layout and colors were almost unbearable, etc. But for at least the rest of this week, if I post here, it will just be in this topic, seeing as I have quite a busy week this week.

Brother don’t be discouraged by those who are so blinded by man’s doctrine.
While some may disagree, those who are being razed by other people for bearing witness to the truth in light of the scriptures are being persecuted. We should give glory to God for being counted worthy of such persecution.

I have been called all sorts of things on this forum even a messenger of Satan (go figure that a brother in Christ calling another brother in Christ a messenger of Satan), but I have not given up due to the fact that we are to bear witness to the truth. And that while we may never reach out to those who we are responding to, remember, that there are a lot of people in search of the truth. And those who are diligently seeking the truth (perhaps those viewing not just responding) will find it as long a we continue to bear witness of the truth in light of God’s Word.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

I don't either. This is being under grace and mercy.

Now, a lot is said here in these forums. It is a great learning opportunity. Not in believing all that is
said, but in taking a subject that raises questions in your mind, and going to see what the Bible
says about it. What you know and what you don't know, can be exposed in what you see in these
forums. When those areas of doubt and lack of knowledge are exposed, in your mind, jump in the
Bible and work on them. I have been reading Christian forums since the 80's and have learned alot.
Not in what I read, but what I verified.

The world is filled with false believers. But hold strong brother, the truth will be the last thing standing in the end. If someone posts something against what the bible says, you can use the word to refute if you think it might help in some way, or ignore them. And if someone tells you to drink poison he trying to be a troll or is an idiot (forgive me if that sounded harsh).

I can say that most Christian Forums have people like that. You cannot really escape it in this world. Christians forums are either too forgiving, or too strict. Kicking someone who has a different opinion than a mod is wrong, and letting someone go around and preach false doctrines is wrong. There has to be a way to balance it, but that would require some work.

Whatever you decide to do. God bless you. But I hope you stay.

Well as a couple have already said, we're in a catch 22.

We need to balance room for discussion/ministry/correction with not allowing false teaching.

If we allow room for discussion/ministry/correction, then we get a faction who wonders why this site "allows false teaching".

Yet if we have a heavy hand and delete/ban/infraction all this stuff, then we get a faction who says we censor, don't allow discussion, and don't allow ministry.

Each faction is rarely pleased with the balance we're trying to achieve.

There is a report post button. You can use it.
You said you did use it.
Chances are if we saw it, we dealt with it, or didn't feel it needed to be addressed at the time.

On another note.

Often we get what I'm going to call "phantom message board crisis reports".

People will either make a post, or come to a moderator with reports of all these crisises going on in the forums. It may be reports of mean people, false teachers, immoral posts, or whatever.

When such people are asked to give specific examples of said "crisis" they really can't point to anything specifically. It's just that someone got their dander up, and they're mad about it. So what ends up happening is these people end up getting others all worked up about said phantom crisis, or they expect us to sift through 1000s of posts on here, looking for said crisis.

So this part about phantom crisises is being written to everyone in general.

If you feel there is a forum crisis, please just find the specific thing that needs reporting, and report it. It saves others the drama of getting their dander up too, and saves the admin/mods the time of having to address a potential non-existent crisis.
