Oh my...now that you wrote all that. Im sorry for saying OSAS haters...wont do that again.
i think it would probably be best not to say such things like that, it is not conducive to a positive response from those who hear it, it is a statement that causes strife, which a Christian is not to do. Statements like OSAS haters, only causes people to get defensive when they feel they are being accused of that. Your teaching and understanding is better relayed to somone who is open to you, but if they are on the defensive with you, they will not be open to you. Just a suggestion try to stay away from things that cause people to get upset or puts them on the defensive, but in love, try to be kind to others, gentle, able to teach. It is almost impossible to teach one who is being defensive.
No im not offended. And I dont stand for OSAS. I do stand for eternal life and know the promises of God are true. But all Gods promises are conditional.
Then i do indeed owe you an apology, i have been teaching OSAS is not Scriptural and i was under the impression you adamantly disagreed with that. i am sorry that i misunderstood you. If then you do not agree with OSAS then we are on the same page and understand the same Truth. i also believe in Eternal life. Right now if i were to be killed, i know without a doubt that i am Heaven bound. i 100% know that if Christ were to come back right this second that i would be taken up with Him. What i don't know is, if God decided to test me like He allowed satan to test Job, that i would handle it the same way that Job did. i would like to think i would handle it just as Job did, but until it happens to me for real, i know not how i will respond. i know from past experience though, that when i got a boil on my butt, i was praying to God "Why me Lord?" how i will respond if i had boils all over my body lost all my family, and became homeless, well i just don't know what i would think.
I also make comments in several threads taking issue with what i believe incorrect wheni believe it is. But when its correct as far as i see i comment on that too. So since ive been
accused of OSAS so often i jumped to conclusions with you. My mistake.
The question is, why do so many people think you are are OSAS? if it were just one person who made that mistake, that's understandable, but if many people are making that mistake, then it stands to reason that you are saying things in your posts that would lead a person to believe that you do believe OSAS. There is nothing wrong with taking issue with what you believe is incorrect or correct. That is what these message boards are for, not to mention what a True Christian is suppose to do. America is in the condition that it is in, partly because Christians say nothing at all, when they should have spoke up when they disagreed. i commend you for speaking up when you disagree with what is written, even to disagree with what i myself write. It is written several times in the Word of God to be of one mind to think the same things. The very first step in order for all to come to an agreement, is to realize there is a disagreement. There are over 120 different denomination, all of which came about because people disagreed on a particular subject, instead of dividing (which satan loves to do) they should have talked about their disagreements, look to the Scriptures for answers, prayed about it, until which time they would all come to an agreement on a particular issue, so that they will continue to abide in Jesus by having one mind, and not be divided.
Ill let God deal with the rape victim God may show mercy in these cases. Often people do forgive
but the pain comes back. So they think they hate them when its a matter with coping with the pain
much different than hating without a cause. But thats above my paygrade. I do see your point.
To look at the side ive seen lately of the OSAS doctrine haters. I mean what the sentiment is behind
their issue. Id have to say i agree with them about 80%. If they dropped alot of their proof texts
I may agree 100%.
To say it in a more nice way, you might have said "To look at the side ive seen lately from those who believe the OSAS doctrine." This would not put those who actually believed in the OSAS doctrine on the defensive stance. Truly when you say OSAS doctrine haters, you are attacking them, accusing them of being haters. i thought you said above that you won't do that again, that is say OSAS haters?
Anyway sorry it got so long...i cant teach OSAS. But i can teach eternal life is eternal and that
it is also conditional. Our redemption comes from Christs finish work. But its an already not yet thing.
And i believe that a person can go apostate. I also believe God is looking at the heart and wants to save.
Hes not up there waiting for me to blow it so He can send me to hell.
Then we are in agreement, praise the Lord Jesus Christ. division is not of God, What you say is absolutely True.
A
nd as far as David? No i think even in the Old Testament salvation was still and always has been
the same.
Under the Old Covenant, they did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God, Jesus was not yet born to be a sacrifice for their sins. Under the Old Testament a person was Saved by obedience to the Laws of Moses. If they committed sin, they did not ask the Father in Heaven for forgiveness, they merely sacrificed a particular animal for particular sins, that is how they were forgiven of their sins prior to Jesus Christ. Now, under a New Covenant, we are Saved through belief in Jesus Christ, believe that He is the Son of God, that He died for us and was resurrected back to life. Jesus Christ is what Saves us. David did not know Jesus Christ. David was not Saved though Jesus Christ. David was Saved because obeyed the Law, all of them. He did all things to please God. David hated his enemies, yes? Under the New Covenant we are not to hate our enemies even as David did. David hating his enemies and desiring that God destroys them, was not evil nor wicked under the Old Covenant. Jesus made it wicked in the New Covenant.
Old Testament Salvation came by obedience to the Laws of Moses
New Testament Salvation comes by believing and abiding in Jesus Christ.
Two different Salvation, because it is two different covenants.
