Single or married or in a relationship, it does not matter really, but people work out for confidence, to keep their spouse interested in them physically or for US singles we might do it to attract someone!

But yea, who works out, what do you do exactly, and what reason do you do it?

dothackzero's thread made me wonder about this, so this isn't TOO random ( although it would be far from me to be THAT random) lol

I try too, but I'm pretty lazy. :p

I use to go to the gym, but since I lost my job and had to cancel my membership I usually just work in the yard or help my father by cutting & splitting wood, mowing and things like that

white: you don't need a gym. I never go to the gym and i work out. I do push ups, squats and pulls ups at home lol. very rarely do you seem me in a gym..like ever.

zero: Thats good! I'm ok on arms, but i really need to work on doing crunches >_<

I like this place for work out ideas!
it's more fun to work out if you have someone to work out with. like a spotter. But also if you're doing physical work and you develop some muscles; that's an added benefit

lol push ups DO develop muscle, same with squats and pull ups. It uses your body and reduces chance for injury.

I go to a gym...but it is way easier to have a work out partner...lol...I know some dude in the military and all he does is run and do push ups and stuff like that and he is rip and in way better condition than me....

I run.....every other day... i average about 24 miles in 5 days. saturdays and wednesdays are my long runs... I mainly do it because its a great way to relieve stress, and i like feeling and being healthy.

I try to workout at least 3 days a week at a gym and walk on the days in between... Often I don't quite make that goal but I do make an effort to try. I do feel it's important to try your best to be healthy, and yeah, a benefit is that it generally helps you in the attractiveness department... I also find it helps ease depression (and can help keep you off medication), which has always been a struggle in my life.

It also helps so that you can eat more. :)

I have a friend who's getting married soon--she says she can't wait to officially have a man so that she can "let it all go"--stop working out, eat whatever she wants, etc.

I hope I never get to that point!! I actually need someone (for a potential relationship) who works out and will keep me motivated--drag me along with him sometimes, at least--because I've found that for me personally, it's not just a luxury or being frivolous-- it's really crucial for my health.

I started working out to lose weight and because I got a free gym membership. I came home from an internship and realized, wow, my pants don't fit :)

So I will say that it started off as a mainly external motivation, but as time went on I started thinking about all the benefits to my health in the long term and how good I feel after I'm done. I don't have heartburn anymore, I sleep better and I have more energy. I also know that the fitter I am the better I'm able to deal with my anxiety and the stresses I'll have at work (after I graduate.)

Oh and I wanted to note too that what's helped keep me motivated is this passage...1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

I think we all have that external "I want to look better, fit into my pants, etc.," motivator but I've found that that wears off quick and if I were to go by just that I wouldn't go.

I've noticed that when I am in shape and working out, or at least doing something that requires physical exertion, I feel better about myself. My spirits are up, self esteem, etc. Also, the gym I use to go to was where I'd meet people I prefer to associate with. Of course, in this small town its either there, the bars, or church activities. But church things aren't going on all the time, so a lot of ppl from church to to the gym too. A lot of my friends from church can be found at the gym too.

I walk my dog.....sorta....he's arthritic ;).....uhmmmm but I do get a a good go on my tready.......
I do lunges, pushups and crunches....that's it....ohhh and every other day...not everyday......
