I'm a firm believer in buying used cars...99 percent of the time it is a more financially efficient strategy than new. I've had to talk many people out of blowing through their retirement funds to buy brand new cars, it makes NO sense at all to me.
I agree with this, but I also feel that if one can truly afford a brand new car, AND they are smart enough to buy one that holds its value well like a lexus for example then a new car can still be a good choice.
With the exception of classic cars, cars don't hold value, they lose it. Even if you can afford brand new, strategically it's still not more efficient than buying used. People who can truly afford new cars off the lot realistically don't hold the same car for its entire life, and could have gotten get the same usage out of the 2010 lexus as they did the 2012.
buying used furniture is kinda nasty. who knws what the original owners did on that couch...
I second that
Psh. What you don't know won't hurt you!
Did you guys ever hop into your parents bed while you were kids?
So you keep your car long enough that it needs those pesky repairs?![]()
