have you ever had that time when you feel like your faith is almost dead? like you could lose your faith any moment? this is my day today, this isn't the same as feeling apart from god and is a first for me. i have been ignoring god for a while and just did as i pleased. i saw my faith was almost dead and i immediately sought after god and i prayed with a humble heart. this is now a waiting game as i try to do better to follow his commands and be a better christian. my computer is broken so i am writing with my 3ds, i became so obsessed with my pc and games and i am glad it is broken because i feel god is deciplining me with love and i cant believe i actually am grateful for his dicipline but it was an awakining for me. i feel like there is a darkness holding me keeping my faith weak and shaken but yet i do not feel alone, like there is a powerful light. like this was supposed to happen for my growth. i said to god a week ago my faith seemed stale and i prayed for a rebirth in my faith. god does not always just answer our prayers. if you ask for more blessings does he just hand it to you or does he give you an opportunity to get the blessings? i hope this is the opportunity for a rebirth in my faith, i certainly feel like a rebirth is at hand but i also fear this is just a good mood and will not last, but honestly that sounds like the devil talking. i don't know why i put this in the prayer forum but i felt compeled to say these things

The key is in the word "feel".

Look up that e-mail I sent you a few weeks back. The farther you get with God, the more He has to take the feelings away, so you can get farther in faith.

Were you ignoring God, or resting, while your mind caught up with your spirit? (Romans 12:2) I bet you know more about Ezekiel than most anyone at this point. It takes a little while to gel.

Playing computer games is not a sin your distance from the lord happends like everything in life but the lord will never leave you your not being taught a lesson hunny just talk to the lord more he will never leave you we are his children

But, dearest, what is this? :(
I am so sad to hear this, not because I worry for your faith (God has that well in hand :))
but because it's taking such a toll!

I don't know if you've seen this (apologies to all who have) but an old friend used to say
God answers prayer 4 ways. Yes, No, Wait, and I thought you'd never ask.
We all have trouble with the middle two. :) (and some, like me, particularly with the third )
My sister and I used to have long talks about the purpose of prayer, and God's responses.
We decided prayer is good because it changes us.

It's part of looking at the Lord. :)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. (2 Cor. 3:18)
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. (1 John 3:2)

Blain, the more we see the Lord, the more we become like Him.
That's why it's so important to fix our eyes upon Him. :)
We don't have to try, or work hard, to look like our Abba
any more than we have to try r-e-a-l hard to look like our earthly dads. :)
(I will make my eyes green, I will make my eyes green ;) )
Nope! :) I will look like my Abba because He makes it happen.
So it's totally okay to just chill. :)
(my kids have been around too much this last weekend. lol)

This is the Sabbath Rest in Christ.♥
If you got on a bus, would you run up and down the aisle while the bus was traveling
to get to your destination? ;)
You're on the bus, sweetheart. :D
The Driver will get you where you need to go safe and sound.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,
to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:24-25)

Maybe just take some 'hang time'? :)
Just hang with the Lord.
Put on a teaching from a believer online.
Play some praise and worship tunes.
Read the Psalms, not to learn something specific, just for the pure joy of it. ♥
Let the Bread of Life feed you, and just sit back and feast,
and relax in that bus seat.

And say to yourself, "Ellie is crazy about me" at least a hundred times. :D

I will pray for you, and would encourage yo to be sure you have no wilful sin or rebellion towards God in your life, I am not asking if you are perfect, but am asking if you have a perfect love and are obedient to Jesus and His truth.

Having a saving faith is living and dynamic, you will have many ups and downs, especially when you come out from the false church and lies and follow Jesus on the narrrow road.

Jesus came to heal the sick, not take thier place of be thier substitute, He came to set the captives free,(once and for all) and this freedom comes with a high price, which includes, real repentance, obedience, denying self, and following Jesus example.

Freedom comes from repentance and faith proven by deeds, where the sin stops, 2 Corin 7-10-11, that can only come from a crisis of conviction, followed by godly sorrow and the clearing of all wrong doing, as Jesus said the pure in heart will see God!

So if your waiting for God to move in your life, or waiting for Him to make you stop sinning, then you will wait a long time, He wants you to repent, stop sinning, and seek Him with all your heart and soul.

Faith is not passive, its alive, and we walk in faith and obedience each day, as we walk the crucified life, with a pure heart and motives in all we do, without this heart purity you will be in bondage to sin, doubt, and struggle on weather you are saved, so repent, stop sinning, seek the mercy of God, He will give you all the strength you need to do this, but God is asking you to do this first:

Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Charles Spurgeon once said, "WHAT! is Christ thy Brother, and does he live in thine house, and yet thou hast not spoken to him for a month? I fear there is little love between thee and thy Brother, for thou hast had no conversation with him for so long." It sounds like, from your confession, that you were distracted from intimacy with Christ by games.

Suppose a man, who has a wife, were to spend more time with his friends than with his wife -- we would not be astonished that he knows more about his friends than his wife at the end of every month. It's true that playing video games is not a sin, but it does take time from other things. Paul says in 1 Cor. 6:12, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable."

The Scriptures commands us to "Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." And Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Remember that "faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." The more time we spend meditating in God's word, the less likely we are to disbelieve it.

Men disbelieve God because they don't know Him. It was remarkable to read the other replies to your confession. You could tell, by what some of the people wrote, that these individuals know God: one testified of His faithfulness and another testified of His love.

Spend much more time with the one who gave Himself for you, and all of your fears, concerns, and doubts, will be abated.

im very worried about you in so many ways i dont want you to ever lose your faith ill keep you in prayer ; ok im sorry about your computer ; but you must not lose hope n faith ok be strong and fight the good fight dont let satan get a foot hold ok ;i emailed you but its ok your computer is broke ok ill keep in touch somehow and keep you in my prayers

i thank everybody for their responces and prayers, yesterday and the week behind it i had forgotten who i was and the path god set before me. but today god has strengthened my faith more than before and he reminded me who i am, the future in front of me is going to be hard because i chose to be a vessel for god ever since i first accepted christ, its my responsibility to gather, guide and protect his sheep. i swore to him to do this for him, knowing how new i am to christ i know i have much to learn before i do this but it would be such an honor to serve him like this. it would make me so happy to be a mindless puppet to god but he gave us free will, so i will be a mindless puppet by choice

PRAY THAT THE LORD REMOVES THE DEPRESSION, AND DISCOURAGEMENT FROM YOU. PRAY FOR THE DOORS TO BE SHUT WHERE THE DISCOURAGEMENT IS BRINGING THE COMPLAINING. PRAY AND BE IN THANKFULLNESS, IT WILL BLOW THE DARKNESS OUT THANKFULLNESS WILL GIVE YOU THE JOY OF THE LORD, THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGHT, THAT IS NEEDED RIGHT NOW. ALWAYS BE THANKFULL. :) IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, PAUL SAID, I HAVE LEARNED TO BE THANKFULL. AMEN

I have no idea what you're saying.

We aren't supposed to go on feelings, because feelings will change, we'll be on a roller coaster of ups and downs. What we should be doing is standing on God's Word, knowing it still holds true regardless of any feelings we might have.

Praying for you blain for all asked and needed in Jesus Christ is Lord.

God bless

No you won't. Happiness is just what we want; joy is what God wants to give us. You will be a trained, skilled, warrior and Kingdom builder, rightly dividing the word, choosing your battles wisely, a little more like Jesus every time you go through a cycle like this. Your body needs time to catch up with your spirit. Enjoy the times of feeling close, and enjoy the times of rest (playing video games if that's what you like) when He calls you to it. God created night as well as day.

Blain don't let yourself get tossed about.

Ephesians 4:14
longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Hebrews 2:18
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Love and prayers, Shekaniah

i feel like there is a darkness holding me keeping my faith weak and shaken but yet i do not feel alone, like there is a powerful light.

Honey that right there what you wrote says that your faith is ANYTHING but dead. It is alive and so very powerful that the devil doesn't have a chance at holding you down because you belong to our God Blain. The devil is just trying to pull the wool over your eyes. At the end of each day guess what my friend, you rest secure in the arms of our Jesus safe and sound and very loved. Don't buy into this crap the devil is trying to feed you. Remember he is the master of confusion and all those feelings that make you feel like crap inside unless its :D conviction lol then thats from our Lord.

Nobody is a mindless puppet, (not in Christ).
Go through your growing process in Him.
Sometimes it's better not to know what you are called to do.
Because you still have to go through the growing curve to get there.
Rest in His grace.
And be ye filled with the Holy Spirit.
